A lot of the runs for Gibson were straight up. Nothing fancy. No deception whatsoever. You throw in some deception and give him an extras step and he could be kicking some serious ass - maybe as soon as next week.

He showed he's a good inside runner early on this season. He just needs to continue developing his pass and ball protection.

The starters gave up the vast majority of those rushing yards lol. Don’t act like aggy with the biased spin.

I am not even arguing the 2024 defense is better than the 2005 defense. I do not think that. The 2024 defense still has a long way to go. So I have no spin to make.

I just thought it was hilarious some garbage time scores were being presented the deciding factor. So I was making a joke. The starters probably aren't going 100% being up 42-0. Even the 2005 defense let Kansas get some garbage TDs in the second half.

Earlier in this thread there were people saying this defense was better than the 05 defense and has the chance to be the best Texas defense, ever.

I like that our game against arky is early.

Their fans won't be as drunk and obnoxious

That sounds like a challenge

The 2009 defense was better anyway.

Bobby and Gerry being bitches on OTF Saying this would be a 10 point win. Any time I see them in their feelings over a game I know we're mid holing the team

That did it with Michigan and now a bad UF

Seriously? This Florida team is awful and with their QB situation the idea of them even scoring 10 (excluding garbage time anyway), let alone staying within 10 would have been a hard sell to me.

Yeah, they both said it's would be a 27-17 game and a 27-10 game. I was befuddled at their predictions. I was like, the fuck? They kept talking about how they still had all this talent to make it close.

At least the men and women in the comments said we'll beat them by 20.

They thought this thanks to Florida giving UGA a game.   UGA looks like shit right now against Ole Piss.  And they looked like shit against Miss State, and Kentucky.   We made UGA look good because Quinn had to be playing hurt.

Which is weird since that's a rivalry game that wouldn't translate to playing us. They also said they would be worn out from playing UGA, rather than just admitting that we're a different team with a better QB (even if he's looked like shit) than Beck.

I really like the way he runs. I would really really like it if he held onto the ball. He is the best runner between the tackles and only downhill runner..

I thought Blue looked good m. H is just scary int he open field

Not much to complain about. Quinn was great. Defense was great. Running game showed up. Bond is transcendent. Defense got 3 turnovers. We didn't get 50 but that's a minor quibble when you go 35-0 into the half. That righted the ship.

Probably a great game for PK. He gets hammer the defense about the run game right before Ark, Kentucky, and A&M. Perfect timing

Those are some nice stats. 350 passing. 200 rushing. Excellent per touch numbers for most of our offense. There's no doubt we weren't hitting on all cylinders, so if Sark gets these guys on the same page... look out. I give Ewers a B-. His performance wasn't near good enuf to run the tables.

If he plays this level consistently it absolutely is good enough.

Our players really liked Charlie Strong too.  It didn’t make him a good coach.  Good luck with that Florida.

Gotta keep Bond healthy.

Not sure why weren't able to take advantage of Golden and Wingo better...  😕

Dog what. He was 19/27 for 333 and 5 touchdowns. That includes a dropped TD and another dropped 50 yard completion. No turnovers, zero sacks.

He missed some throws so I wouldn't go A+ necessarily but he was a solid A today.

Golden had 2 touchdowns?

yeah he had the fantastic grab in the corner and I think he was the one that caught the wide-open look in the NEZ.

Oh mb misinterpreted your comment lol.

Game was fun for an 11 am. Florida fans were cool. They have a lot of talent it just isn’t on the field. Met a ton of them on 6th last night. Whenever I said I went to Texas, they’d start snapping at me which was very entertaining. Way better than every basic opposing fan that just do Horns down.

Yep, Golden had 3 catches and 2 touchdowns.  Our drives were so fast that no receivers really piled up stats.  Ewers only had 19 completions.  That means every 4th pass was a touchdown.

Don't agree. Ewers looked very tentative at times. Many of his downfield passes were off target, especially the deep throws. Most of the yardage came on very short passes to amazing runners/receivers. We didn't get away with that against Georgia, and everybody will be ready for it. If Quinn is going to miss big on deep passes, he's gonna get intercepted - as in critical interceptions that end important drives.

I think Sark has to make that run game work and then go with play / action intermediate passes for Quinn to be successful. If Ewers tries the straight drop backs, he's gonna get happy feet. We saw some of that today against a pretty mediocre defense. He wasn't terrible, but he needs to show quite a bit of improvement to win the SEC, let alone a Natty

Yeah. I root for Florida a lot because it's a good school with good fans who have their own pride and aren't just about hating others.

Not that it mattered today but seemed like SEC ref fuckery again from the stands today.  more "looking" for penalties on Texas and avoiding the same from Florida. had to pick up ANOTHER one.  didn't see the roughing the passer.

they called the one hold on Florida because it was a complete takedown but ignored multiple others.

K then who do you think we should put back there. John Elway? Not sure he's on the roster.

Executing that quick short-pass, screen game is a lot more difficult than it looks- and he executed it beautifully today.

If we get ~250 passing yds with minimal turns out of Quinn then our defense is enough to beat literally anyone in the country. He was a lot better than that today.
