Wish I could've gotten one for my white, 65 year old lawyer uncle who is a huge Rangers fan that doesn't speak a lick of Spanish.

Yeah - it means "go team!"

At least he’s not dead.

RHP Tyler Mahle pitched in a Minor League game against Double-A Northwest Arkansas (KC) earlier today

He allowed three runs in four innings. He allowed six hits and no walks, with five strikeouts. He threw 55 pitches (42 strikes) and an additional 10 pitches in the bullpen

FYI, for folks in the Temple-Waco-B/CS viewing area, I've got the game on antenna channel 44-2 MyNet, rather than the CW channel. Looks good.

I had an 18 year streak of opening days snapped a few years ago.  I have no desire to start a new one.

Rangers are preparing for Cody Bradford to be shut down from throwing for another 3 weeks, then resume.

Preparing for Jon Gray to be shut down AT LEAST six weeks, but are still awaiting further scans to see if he will need surgery.

Everything is on table for this club & pitching now

Ozzie Albies fractured his wrist last year and missed exactly 2 months. I'd assume it would be a little longer for a pitcher. So probably not until June for Gray, realistically?

Yuck. Would have rather had Kyle Gibson back.

The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has signed LHP Patrick Corbin (#46) to a one-year Major League contract covering the 2025 season. To make room for Corbin on the 40-man roster, the club has placed RHP Jon Gray on the 60-day Injured List (right forearm fracture).

Corbin, a 12-year MLB veteran, made 32 starts for Washington in 2024, going 6-13 with a 5.62 ERA (109 ER/174.2 IP), a 4.41 FIP, and 139 SO against 54 BB. The 35-year-old paced the Nationals in GS (170), IP (946.2), and SO (832) over his 6-year tenure with the club (2019-24).

Guess Gray’s break changed from wrist to forearm.

Corbin has been terrible the last four years for the Washington Nationals, putting up a 5.71 ERA and 4.99 FIP in 126 games. He has a -4.0 bWAR. He led the majors in earned runs allowed in 2021, 2022 and 2024, hits in 2022 and 2024, and losses in 2021 and 2022.
