You're the one who made a stupid assertion.

Just for fun, I went back and watched his first 9 dropbacks. He has 5 completions, a sack (doesn’t look to be his issue), a scramble that did give us a chance to consider going for it on 4th (but it looks as though he passed on an open guy at the 25), a miss that Bond takes to the house if caught, and what should have been a pick.  Two of the completions were passes that are caught damn near 100% of the time.  On the season Ewers ranks 42nd in completion percentage (64th if you use adjusted completion %) behind the LOS to give a little context.  One of those was on Wisners back shoulder.  Another completion was for 4 yards.  Only 1 was beyond 10 air yards.

It sure wasn’t one of his faster starts.  He certainly finished better than he started.  So whatever you want to call it, go ahead.  Oh and by the way he started 4/4 versus Georgia.  I don’t remember exactly where it went from there, but I don’t think there was a mix of missed TD and shoulda been pick in his first 9 dropbacks.

In any event, I’m done with it.

No it’s not totally, it’s when Sark doesn’t trust him and is trying to get him in a rhythm again.  Is it a big part of the offense yes but I’m pretty Sark wants to thrown downfield a bit more and not be second to last in the country.  A bit more balanced like this week would be great going forward.

we have never run this QE offense when Arch has been in. never. it’s is 100% clear that sark has been tailoring his play calling to QE’s limitations for two seasons now. sark has never run this quick hitting style of offense in his career except for those times specifically after QE got hit and got hurt. we will never see this offense again once quinn is gone. this absolutely not what sark wants to be running.

god i would love to hear sark’s actual thoughts on his two QBs. because you can’t bench quinn, but you also can’t even trot out your actual fucking offense with quinn either.

It’s cliche, but we need to come out with our hair on fire and slap the shit out them. Take their souls early.

even at 11am it's still a jihad game

taking their souls by noon is not in the cards

Big game for PK's group -- defense has to travel to win a lot of SEC road games!!!

i thought the play with multiple end arounds where I’m pretty sure Quinn did like 720 degrees of spinning and mostly fake handoffs was a super creative thing of beauty.

that was honestly the coolest play i’ve ever seen. and that’s the thing- we’ve got a QB/OC genius and maybe the best set of pass catchers in America. to be so limited offensively with QE as the starter between the time of his injury and the florida game (where we still are not seeing anything close to the full sark offense) just makes it doubly frustrating.

Arkansas is not good and if Texas takes care of the ball they roll, even if the offense disappears for stretches.

Throw dumb picks or drop a couple more fumbles, letting Arkansas hang around or even build a lead, all bets are off.

I anticipate the former.

This why a championship defense is a must. I’m not particularly worried because I know we can hold them to probably 17 or less. I can’t imagine Texas offense scoring 17 or less against Arkansas even on a really bad day.

Only chance Arkansas can win is if we give them a short field a few times. With PK I feel good about pig not scoring 7 when they start at their own 25 or further back. Due to Quinn’s early struggles in games that we saw against Vandy, Georgia, and OU we need to defer if win the coin toss. Getting the ball first and turning it over on our side of the field in that first possession would be a horrible tone setter like it was in the Vandy game where we were fortunate to escape with a win. Let our defense set the tone, and the offense will follow their lead, and we can cover the 2 TD spread

Golden continues to be money when the ball comes to him.

It's been said by others, but what a huge pickup for Sark in the portal.  Really wish we had him for another year.  But with Wingo, Moore, another badass from the portal, a badass freshman stepping up early, and Parker Livingstone, we will be stacked again at receiver.

it was a fibonacci spiral

against a D-line we can contain

aganist jihad-roided-league guys (see: uga, pig, aggy, playoffs) it took way too long to uncoil and will get blown up for a turnover

Line opens with Texas -15.5. O/U 56.5

I wouldn’t touch that line with Bea Arthur’s dick.  I know Arkansas sucks.  We’re really good.  But still.  Weird shit happens there.

Easiest money I ever made gambling was Texas/Arky in 2004.  Night game in Fayettenam.  Texas had VY and Cedric.  Arky had Matt Jones and Peyton Hillis. We were 14 point favorites.  I was in Vegas for a bachelor party.  I loaded up on Arky and the points.  There was no way we were winning by 2 touchdowns at night in Fayettenam. Texas was lucky to win 22-20.  Needless to say, we had a good time in Vegas with my winnings.  But it got very nervy at the end.

all of this and let's put the #1 Defense in the country out there and give ourselves the chance for an early smash and grab

sark and quinn just need to matriculate

this is pk's game to unleash the hounds

I went to a Northwestern vs Wisconsin in Madison a few years back, it was an 11A game.  Those MFers were SMASHED by kickoff, I was impressed.

nothing will ever impress more in that department than corndog lower deck west side of the cotton bowl at 8am for that 10am kickoff

those fuckers had been drinking all night and never stopped

I watched the first half quickly. His best throws were to Moore in the endzone and the swing to Blue. 2 other throws stood out the 1st series throw to Helm and a later a crosser to Bolden. I definitely could have missed a couple.  Outside of that it was all 1st read and checkdown throws. Sark was on point in this game. Quinn played very well, but this was one of the easier games he will have (SEC defenses!!)

Things were working well.  Honestly, I think we’ll score at least 30 in the next 3.  Rather handily at that.  Particularly if the defense continues to get turnovers on the other side of the 50.

We are too good.  Georgia shook the confidence (if I’m allowed to speculate on that) with a bit of a hangover (more unprovable speculation), mid season road game the following week.  We are likely healthier than we’ve been in some time.

Arkansas defense has had some rough outings.  We can overwhelm Kentucky.  A&M is the most difficult, but they have not played an offense as capable as ours.

Ill take the under on 30 for all 3 games. There will be at least one that the offense has issues with (likely UK or A&M). Ark coming off a bye. They quit vs Ole Miss, be interesting to see if Pittman got the team back.  Kentucky coming off a bye and Murray St, so 3 week of prep for Texas

OFEI: Texas 11, A&M 29,ARk 56, UK 69

DFEI: Texas 1, A&M 16, UK 43, Ark 51

Pts per Drive

Offense: Texas 8, A&M 49, UK 107, Ark 70

Defense: Texas 1, A&M 39, UK 58, Ark 81

It was a thing of beauty. Imagine Elko or Venables trying to draw that up, coach that up, and call that up during a game.

Kentucky under Stoops can be a really fucking annoying pothole (ask Ole Miss and UGA), and they're sitting in a prime trap game spot in the schedule. Thank goodness that one's at home.

Kentucky has some real NFL talent on defense. That offense is bad. IF Texas defense can shut down the running game this week and next, these should be comfortable wins. I would not mind the offense getting a bit of a test before the A&M game (assuming still a comfortable win)

That game was so strange. Texas scored 16 of their 22 points in the first quarter, and the score was 17-16 Hogs at half.

The first half had a bunch of big offensive plays, whereas the second half was an entirely different game. Texas defense clamped the fuck down in the second half.

Alrighty.  On UK I’ll take an alternate route.  You don’t want to play our speed after not playing a legit D1 team in 3 weeks.    They are a crapshoot.  While they did well against Ole Miss and Uga, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida had some of their better games in terms of yards and points.  I think their offense will mostly be dead in the water and ultimately their D craters.

I am confident that our offense will be more difficult to defend than it was the first half of the season.  We’re are healthier and a bit rejuvenated.  Think the bye have is a slight internal evaluation too.

A&M from a difficulty standpoint is likely the hardest for our offense to crack.
