Is Dogpatch USA still open?

No, it closed in 1993, I went when I was a little kid, I broke off a little piece of the statue of Jubilation T. Cornpone and kept it. Those college aged girls were looking good in their Daisy May outfits. Lil Abner comic strip and the musical was big stuff in Arkansas. They didn't know the musical was pretty funny because it made them look stupid. Such as the Jubilation T. Cornpone number below.

But you can still mine for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro. 😀

I like to watch rival youtube videos to see if there is any insight and I made the mistake of making through 6 minutes of this shit and these two morons are everything I imagine Arkansas fan to be:

Quote 1) Arkansas was a bigger rivalry in the 60's than OU because Texas could not play OU back then.

Quote 2) Will Trump make it? I don't know he just took office.

I spoiler-ed the shit because they are doing horns down and you really do not want to waste any time like I did on it.

Tex and OU have played at least 120 times since 1900, starting at the State Fair in 1929.

I went there as a kid too, went down in that big cave. Across from there over the Table Rock Lake bridge was something called Branson, USA that wasn't a big deal yet. I remember the Bevery Hillbillies did several episodes from Silver Dollar City too.

I got a corn cob pipe there when I was like 7 in 1973. I don't know why I got a pipe for a souvenir, but it was the 70s man.

I've got a shit glass in Red River when I was 10. Still have it at my home bar.

Line down to Texas -12

I hope sark takes this seriously like he says he does. It’s their Super Bowl. Their coach would likely get an extension with a win, or at least another year without getting fired. Sark knows this obviously. All gas sark.

I'm surprised more fans aren't concerned about the Texas run defense going against a top 10 rushing team. That's been the weakest link all season and Texas gave up 6.1 ypc to a FL RB on 19 carries. That's not too good, and FL didn't have a run threat at QB to worry about.

This game is also in Fayetteman and pig has had 2 weeks to prepare. I wonder what trick plays had sex with VB player will come up with.  Texas just better come in with their heads on straight and piss in their veins.

Maybe because the Florida RB got most of that production in the 2nd half after it was 42-0 and Texas was subbing in the 2nd and 3rd string liberally.

I think Sark hears the rumors being told.

most media outlets think Texas hasn’t played anyone and Arkansas at 11 will be the team that shows the playoff committee “Texas” is fake.

he better take this shit serious him and Quinn both. Come out there pussyfooting around and find out.

Agree but's even more than that. Our kids will be walking into an environment they have never seen before.

It's one thing to play against a large crowd like at Michigan but this is different. These pigs are born hating Texas. It's genetic.

Whether you're a 5 year old kid or an 85 year old grandma, they hate us to their core. It's something that

has to be experienced to be believed.

Do yall watch any Arkansas podcast?!?

it’s hilarious

75% Arky fans want us to Blow them out so they can fire Pittman

20% really don’t give themselves a chance at all but know they need to lose to Louisiana Tech before they’ll fire Pittman

and 5% don’t give a fuck they just want to beat Texas and think they can win because they did the same thing to Tennessee

it’s fucking hilarious listening to them.

the national media is giving them more of a chance then they are themselves

There is a valid point to be made that Arkansas is hostile ground and shouldn't be taken casually, but for crying out loud the bulk of this team played at Alabama last year, Tech/Ok St/West Virginia, the Sugar Bowl last year, Michigan this year - they are used to high stakes games, games with intense crowds, and games where the local team has hate that isn't reciprocal.

Let's not forget that the team rallied around the "farewell tour" last year, embracing the chance to get scoreboard on the entire conference.  They remember the last time Texas played at Arkansas.  They know what is at stake for the SEC championship and playoff berth.

I have no idea what will happen on Saturday.  I hope they play well.  I expect they will.  But if they lose it'll be because they played poorly and not because they were blindsided and intimidated by an 11AM Arkansas crowd.

You’re missing the point. It’s not that it’s a big game. It’s that it’s a jihad game for Arkansas. That’s not anything like playing an Alabama team that has seen it all. This is a team that will be keenly focused on us and a fanbase that hates us with the passion of 1,000 suns.

Sorry but now you’re minimizing what it takes to win in Tuscaloosa against a very good Alabama team. Sure the crowd will be rowdier, but the team we’re playing is also much worse. The point is this team and coach are now seasoned to stressful conditions. This isn’t comparable to Sarks first trip there in any way.

Yes, that is the narrative, but it just isn't true. Go back and look at who was on the field at the end at the end of the 3rd qtr and early 4th qtr. 0, 7, 11, 16, 25, 26, 33, 45, 90, 91, 99 were on the field on FL's 1st drive in the 4th qtr and they were all starters or rotational starters that come in about the 3rd series of the game. Mitchell was the only real sub. Even on Fl's 2nd drive of the 4th qtr only a few subs came in like Smith, Filsame and Finckley. Most of Jackson's yardage was against the Texas starters or 1st, 2nd qtr rotational starters. Maybe the safeties were backed up in a prevent defense, but yardage gained against a bunch of subs just doesn't hold water.

Someguy,

Have you heard any info on Texas tipping their outside zone vs jawja & vandy -- just wondering if Sark has figured out this issue and fixed it ???

I believe this is the tweet you wanted to show. Keep in mind that is a 4 yard run. That play works with the RB getting exactly what it is blocked for and nothing more. I believe the biggest issue with the run game is it has schematic diversity (gap schemes and OZ) but lacks gap diversity. For all the "Big Humans" talk Texas rarely runs inside. Seems the vast majority of runs are attacking the edges of the defense. Some that issue is the RBs and the middle of the OL. The OTs can displace a DL. That isnt something that Majors and Conner strive at. RBs havent shown much contact balance or great vision as a group.

Yeah, it was less the personnel switches and more the defense playing vanilla prevent D and being completely fine with Florida taking 10 minutes to score.

Pretty classic fanbase myopia. Before the Florida game, plenty of guys on our board were shitting themselves about how Quinn was going to thrown 5 INTs while the national media was pretty confident we'd dogwalk the Gators.

As a fan, it can be easy to only see the flaws in your own team since it's the only one you watch closely every week.

Texas has been a double digit favorite in both games, nobody has given Ark or Florida much of a chance to win the game. I am sure the DC for Ark is going to go with an extreme plan vs Texas that will be all or nothing for them. I would expect blitz heavy or a drop 8 type look. Their only chance is he hits a home run schematically.

? Ignoring the fact that we've played at Alabama and at Michigan and in the CFP, the following players were on the team when we played Arkansas in 2021:

  • Barron
  • Gbenda
  • Taaffe
  • Blackwell Jr.
  • Auburn
  • Broughton
  • Majors
  • Conner
  • Juan Davis
  • Helm
  • Sorrell
  • Collins

People need to stop acting like this team hasn’t played in high stakes games or tough environments. Much worse Texas teams have walked into Fayetteville and won convincingly. Take it seriously, sure.

This.
