The Tulsi appointment is absolutely insane.

She was put on a TSA list for what appears to be naked political reasons. Gonna be interesting to see what laundry to she wants to hang out as DNI.

This is Trump’s initial “fuck you”…..he’s working for Putin now.

Has he already asked for the codes?  I wouldn't be surprised if day one he comes back and says something like, the codes don't work.  How do you know?  I was told they don't work, give me the real codes.  Who told you they don't work.  Nevermind, give me the right codes or you're fired....

The one thing Trump is absolutely historic in, like Babe Ruth historic, is losing money.  The man can bankrupt a casino.  He's the Bambino of Bankruptcy.  He's gonna score so many bankruptcies in his term, they're gonna erect a Trump statue in Moscow.

I don't either. Sounds like some weird caste shit to me though.

They are Hindustani words, but their usage is universal. I mean....if you were cursing some guy over there, you would not be stopping to check his caste/religion first. And regardless of his religion, he would be seriously pissed. Chutiya actually means STUPID cunt when its used in cursing (chut=cunt in Hindi abuse). So, if you walked up to Ramjaswamy and called him this, he would certainly understand it. If you are planning to do this, I'd like to fly over to watch, actually.

Fuck off I’m enjoying y’all whine and gnash your teeth about Trump. I have been waiting for a President to do what he is doing since I volunteered for Pat Buchanan back in 1996. I’m enjoying myself and laughing at you losers. This board needs the perspective of the True Believers.

This is funny because "enjoying myself and laughing at you losers" is basically by reaction to the Gaetz AG pick and the TV host SecDef guy whose name I don't even remember. Why are you excited? These are big unforced errors for important roles, whose Senate confirmations are legitimately in doubt and even if confirmed lack the competence to execute the plans you have such a weird little chub over. Trump and team are setting back their own agenda before they even arrive.

A week in and it sure seems to me Trump is just in this to pardon himself, play golf on the public dime, and continue to grift people like you while not really giving a fuck.

Remember when Ben Carson to HUD was thought to be bonkers? Or Rick Perry not knowing what the Department of Energy did when appointed? Either of them would probably be more competent than 90% of those that end up in this cabinet. And this is the first line of appointments, wait until what we have after 2 years of chaos and turnover.

Huh, Anastasis is excited about all the pro-Putin and pro-Assad picks and doesn’t have anything to say about the rabid anti-Palestine cabinet members.  How about that.  Maybe his concern is in the same place the Green Party goes whenever DJT isn’t in an election.

The movie about this administration is gonna be awesome. If Idiocracy was a work of prophetic, satirical farce, this will be the sobering dark comedy that shows one of the tipping points where the critical mass was achieved for majority of this country to go all in on obeying the whims of the id.

Yes. If Macklemore is looking for comedy entertainment, he voted for the right ticket.

Tulsi Gabbard has managed to enter at stage left and right simultaneously as the loveable bimbo put in charge of national intelligence (broad irony!) who just might bumble her way to greatness!

My side lost. I can't do anything about it. The majority of the American people have spoken. I'm going from oddly resigned to darkly amused. I'm just going to settle in for the show.

[TV Audience Laughter blares.] He's a too big to fail failure who will do anything to hide the fact that he's not even really rich anymore! He's The Donald!

In season one, we saw the incorrigible Donald getting handsy in bars as his businesses fail. He calls newspapers using a hilarious faked voice to talk himself up.

[Jeff Epstein's plane.] Everybody laughed at the running gag of The Donald flying around in his best friend's plane oblivious to the teenage girl trafficking going on! "Hey Jeff, so nice of you to give rides to girls' volleyball teams! Think I could get one of those foot massages?" [TV audience laughter roars to life]

[EXT. White House with gold-painted columns and lintel.] Now he's president and he's bringing all of his goofy friends and sycophants with him to the White House! Here's a look at the new season:

[INT. DNI Gabbard presses a button and her long-suffering intelligence veteran assistant comes in with a steno pad.]

Get the heads of the CIA, FBI, and NASA in here.

Ma'am, the heads of the FBI and NASA don't report to you.

And bring in some poki. And find two other guys to come with the CIA guy! Do I have to do everything around here? Aloha, Malcolm!

It's Martin, ma'am.

[Assistant rolls eyes.] [TV audience laughter roars to life]

Gonna be great entertainment. President pardons himself. International gaffes by cabinet members. Newscasts that try to take the president seriously. Loss of leadership of the Free World.

The stochastic terrorism against persons who look like they might be the targets of deportation could get grim, but maybe we'll get some "ouch! Those were my juevos!" slapstick.

The competency of his former folks was galaxies above what this current group will be.

THAT's the issue.  We could survive a first Trump Admin, but America didn't choose Trump's first administration.  It chose what is behind curtain no. 2.

(Which is fine.  It will all be okay.)

In a grotesque way, you are correct.  It would be funny as fuck if we weren't talking bout the government of our country.

We might hope we're going to find out how little department heads really matter in the grand scheme of things because civil servants do all the real work.  But then there's that Schedule F/P2025 thing.

I like how some of you think there are going to be Senate confirmation hearings.  LOL

I'm thinking that in lieu of confirmation hearings, Trump eventually is just going to have 2-3 finalists in the Oval for whatever cabinet spot happens to be open that week, with a national tv address, where he "selects" the winner.  Maybe even call it "The Apprentice" or something catchy.

Because ratings.

Thune has already implied that he wants confirmation hearings as long as the Democrats don't obstruct the process. Obstruct is the eye of the beholder. Is asking questions of the nominee obstructing? Obviously you can eventually obstruct just for the sake of delaying which honesty Dems shouldn't do. Americans voted for a MAGA President and Senate, so they get the right to confirm his picks if that is their desire.

In the past, some nominees had to eventually withdrawal at the insistence of the WH who were tired of some confirmation hearing. Remember when Zoe Baird had the unforgivable sin of not paying taxes for her nanny or housekeeper. I forget which. But I don't think Trump will ask a nominee to withdrawal under almost any circumstance.

This right here.  Dems should ask all the questions to point out the absurdity of the nominee and highlight what could (and probably will) happen with these dipshits serving, but if the Rs want to approve them, that's on them.  Ultimately, facts may not matter because half the country is so goddamn stupid, but the Dems should lay as many breadcrumbs as they can at the front end so that they can say, "We told you this would happen.  It was the inevitable result of their nominations and Project 2025.  The Rs are controlling all the levers of government, so don't point at us for the shitshow.  We've done all that you've empowered us to do, which unfortunately ain't much."

Yes. Dems should quickly state how each candidate is inadequate for the task, if not openly harmful and then add documentation for the rest. Call out Gaetz for his involvement of sex with underage girls and that Gabbard has a too-close relationship with foreign adversaries. Then document the hell out of everything in the senate filings for future historians. Does that change anything today? No but the Dems can't stop the process and attempts will waste political capital.

Democrats used to be able to hold senate seats in GOP leaning, if not fully red, states but that has/is quickly ending. It makes the senate tough for them because of all of the small red states. Its why barely losing 2 seats in PA and OH 2 weeks ago so painful for them. They have to find a way to win. They also need to allow, if not force, senators like Ossoff or Warnock do more to appeal to their moderate bases. the good news is that they should be able to do so given the Dem's lack of power.

So you would prefer some Lindsay Graham-style theatrics?  Look, I acknowledge that facts probably don't matter (said so right there in my post), but I'm thinking that this time that things might just get bad enough (and obvious enough) that some facts might make it through the almost impenetrable shell of the Republican echo chamber, and if so, some predictions on the record that prove true might help the dumbshits ultimately draw the right conclusion ... for once.  Or not.  This is America after all.

Remember when the Magats who attempted to overthrow the US Government on their path to severely injuring and killing police officers, started to feel betrayed that Trump didn't actually show up like he said he would?   About 5 minutes later they stopped questioning the cult leader.

Not that the unwashed masses would give a second of thought or research… but how the hell did/do presidential candidates get away with not having their cabinet listed out during the campaign? Was that ever a thing?
