RFK Jr as HHS is easily the worst of his appmts so far and that is truly saying something

I don't know man. Gaetz as AG is really something. A Russian asset in Intelligence is really something.

Can these be topped? Scott Baio or Hulk Hogan would probably be improvements.

Do we know who the press secretary is to be? There's your job for Hulk Hogan.

Also, why no Sarah Huckabee?

Might as well be Tucker, Hannity or Watters.

Or Cheung.

Whoever will do the best job of pissing people off.  That's the only requirement here.

i get that the 48% who didn't vote for Trump think these are horrible choices, but what percentage of Trump voters think these are horrible choices?

and for those who say "oh surely he won't be carrying out the promises and threats he made on the campaign trail", so far he is batting 1.000%

Appointing to craziest, most grossly unqualified people possible to positions of power and authority to own the libs.

It's always been about destroying the government to own the libs. Because they're proving government doesn't work, you see.

Imagine voting for someone on the basis of "Oh don't worry, I'm sure he's lying about everything he's promising."

How can you omit any one of the central park bear details from this post?

I don't know how anyone cares even a little about his initial cabinet picks. Every one of them will be fired and replaced before long, and the same goes for their replacements as well.

If he gets Gaetz through Bragg, James and Smith are about to go through some things.

Perhaps we'll see but I'm not sure. Matt Gaetz is a phenomenally stupid human being and there's a non zero chance he will be the Charlie Strong of political retribution.

Really thought this as a joke at first... we are really gonna have the man with the brain worms running HHS aren't we....

First order of business is eliminating all vaccine funding research and banning all vaccines.

what exactly? of all people in the world, what does even a malicious politically motivated d.o.j. going to possibly be able to get jack smith on? or alvin bragg?

what do you expect a grand jury to indict them on?

I won’t duplicate my post from the Gaetz thread but I’m convinced he is never going to make it to the senate confirmation and that has always been the plan.

They don’t have to be able to convict.  They just have to make you spend all of your life savings defending against the charges.  It does not take much to get an indictment.
You will free yourself from it but it will definitely suck your resources.

I am not in favor of it and think you could be right in him failing at the task.  I thought from election night that Trump would be motivated to try to get payback.  When I heard Gaetz for AG it was pretty clear he wants someone who isn’t bothered at all with ethics and rules.   I also posted earlier getting Gaetz out of the House decreases the chances of a wasteful fight in regards to Speaker.

Seems pretty fucking disqualifying, yeah? I mean just that on its own.

I suspect Bragg has the most risk given the creative nature of his prosecution.

Look, there is a zero percent chance anyone in the country couldn’t be prosecuted for something, put someone bereft of morals or conscience in the role of AG, I’d bet they can come up with something.

For what do you think matt gaetz will be able to convince a grand jury to indict Jack Smith...even in this bizarre version of reality?

Of course, but my opinion means fuck all.  Trump can lose 3 and you still get AG Gaetz.

Guess the Democrats should have run better campaigns and such.

Jesus dude.  Welcome to the party.

This is all just a way for him to sort out the loyalists from the old guard (read: not clinically insane) Republicans.   Anyone who dares not to support these turds for confirmation immediately outs themselves as questionable in the eyes of dear leader, and therefore subject to purging.  If he nominated a fresh turd for Secretary of Minions, they'd all better run around screaming about what a magnificent turd has been nominated.  And it smells like Windex!  Otherwise, they'll be out of a job at best and without a head at worst.

To? He will. Trump wants a rabid attack dog with undying loyalty. That's Gaetz. Trump will expect the GOP Senate to rubber stamp and try to bully them into compliance if they don't. He's not going to withdraw a nominee because Susan Collins is "concerned," he doesn't give a fuck.

Through? Tossup at this juncture. Murkowski and the new Utah guy are more likely than not to be no's but Collins probably folds. GOP may or may not be down a vote with an empty seat from Vance. Lot of moving parts.

jack smith a fucking boy scout to the extreme. so much so they did not actually get trump put in jail.

even with creativity, there is absolutely no basis for an indictment.

bragg's prosecution led to a jury convicting trump of 34 felonies that have not been overturned in any way by appeal. what basis is there to pursue criminal charges in that context?

I mean, this move was very predictable. RFK's endorsement is a big reason why Trump won so convincingly. May have been the difference between winning the popular vote and not. He was always going to get a role in the admin. Gaetz on the other hand. That one seems pretty out there, to put it mildly.

Feel fairly confident that in any random sample of Americans, 8/10 couldn't tell you what the Attorney General does and I guarantee you that 9/10 have no idea who Matt Gaetz is.

There's no payoff to paying this much attention to this stuff.  None of it matters, we can't change it, we all need to log off and just hope there's a nationwide "vibe" necessitating change in 2026/2028.
