Tilman Fertitta as Ambassador to Italy and this is all going to be so much dumber than you thought.

Tilman's also interested in buying the Saints if the Benson family ever sells.   I guess he wants to fuck up another pro sports franchise.

‘Trump’s pick for Surgeon General caused tragic gun accident as child that left dad shot dead: report’

I'd say the odds might be close to 30/30/30 between the tackle box story, kid playing with the gun, or she walked in after suicide.

A) That’s the one they tried to defund in the last admin right?

B) Kari Lake seems somewhat tame for this one. I’d think Alex Jones or Tucker Carlson would fit the bill better.

Interesting based on his families ties to old school Galveston mafia, the maceo crime family. Not exact Michael Corleone buying legitimacy from the Vatican but not exactly 100% clean either.

Sammy Hagar Standing Hampton 12x12 Album Cover Replica Poster Gloss Print

Vision Quest was a great soundtrack, but I'll Fall in Love Again was first on one of Sammy's best albums (I will let others debate its place versus Three Lock Box).

Love that album but I always associate this song w Vision Quest

Like Moving in Stereo and Fast Times

A last visual of profound meaning sure to make me revered throughout the land:

Her progression of appearance represents the ideal notion of the soul of America in some ways.

Such beauty gone to such horror. Same goes for her.

MAGA has such a strange ideal of feminine beauty. The more plastic and unnatural it is, the more they revere it. For people who blather on and on about God, they sure don’t like their women the way he made them.

Hoors.  They like hoors.

Christ, turnip picked Herschel for ambassador to the Bahamas

So let me get this straight. When the con camps start filling up in south texas in preparation for the mass deportation, and immigration can’t determine which country the detainees are from, one of dotard’s bright ideas is to deport them to the bahamas.

And he’s relying on Herschel to negotiate and execute this plan.

Oh shit.   This is real.

Stephanie Bowers is the last ambassador to the Bahamas who served under Trump. Bowers is a graduate of George Washington University with degrees in International Affairs and French Language and Literature.  She's also a Distinguished Graduate of the National War College with a masters in National Security Strategy.  In 2019, she led the US relief efforts to The Bahamas for Hurricane Dorian.

However, she never won a Heisman Trophy, never had two 1000-yd rushing seasons in the NFL, nor was she ever single-handedly responsible for turning a losing NFL franchise into a 3-time Super Bowl winner by NOT playing for them.

Advantage - Herschel.  I cannot wait until the next disaster strikes The Bahamas so Herschel can show the world his leadership abilities.

That hurricane destruction is easily fixed  with a sharpie and a roll of paper towels.

Once you figure out that the United States of America has no inherent "national dignity," this all becomes a lot easier to take.

The concept of "national dignity" derives from an era in which all countries were monarchies.  So an insult to an officer in the Royal Navy was an insult to His Majesty.  And since His Majesty derived from his sovereignty over the nation, His Majesty's dignity was coterminous with the concept of national dignity.

Somehow in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries that concept made the leap from monarchies to constitutional monarchies and republics.  French national dignity was supposedly insulted by Wilhelm's treatment of the French envoy at Spa, causing France disastrously to declare war in 1870.  British national dignity--famously wrapped up in "a scrap of paper"--required it to declare war in 1914 after Prussia violated Belgian sovereignty.

But here's the thing: a nation has no inherent dignity.  We're proving that today.  There's nothing particularly dignified about the United States, its government, or its people.  Insult the United States or its head of state, and should I really give a shit?  No--I'd probably agree.

Look--real talk here: this is a country peopled by a stupid and wicked populace.  It is a country founded and fostered on conquest, murder, and slavery.  It has no "dignity;" it never did.  And once you realize that simple fact, this whole thing loses its seriousness and just becomes a bit funny.

I don't disagree about the concept of national dignity.  It's a pretty absurd concept that underlies or justifies unjustifiable nationalism.

I do take issue with this, to some degree:

Quote

It is a country founded and fostered on conquest, murder, and slavery.  It has no "dignity;" it never did.

It is also a country founded on some pretty high-minded principles.  Ignoring those principles because the implementation was flawed lacks as much nuance as ignoring the flawed implementation in favor of the high-minded principles.  It's neither a basis for "America, fuck yeah" nor "America, fuck you."

Like everything in human existence, it's a mixed bag,   The bag has some shit in it and some nice stuff.  We're digging around in the shitty part right now.
