Bespoke, organic, fairtrade vanilla almond milk.

And with respect, I'll say you're going a bit hard on milk.  Medieval northern Europeans would not have survived the winter without fresh milk.  Very difficult to get all the nutrients they needed without it.  No fresh fruit, limited vegetables, etc.

And I've read white folks have higher lactose tolerance than others because of it.  A lactose-intolerant baby back then did not survive long.  Major selection pressure.

Oh, no arguments, I consume way too many dairy products, while having a lactose-intolerant family member in our household, but I think the raw milk crowd should at least acknowledge that we need every bit of help we can get with milk - obvious they are lactose-tolerant, but getting sick from tainted  raw milk is no joke, even with modern medicine,

Of course, that’s why it won’t be popping up in HEB in large numbers, if at all.

There are many options for lactose intolerant folks, such as lactose-free ultrapasteurized milk from brands like Fairlife.  It has less sugar, more protein, no lactose, and real cow milk.   Raw milk drinkers are dumb mother fuckers, and I say this as someone who grew up with dairy cows and drank fresh milk most days.   Much like anti-vaxxers, crystal healers, and conspiracy theorists in general, this is more about dumbasses making a feeble attempt to exert some false sense of agency rather than acknowledge how low on the societal rung they exist.

The positive news is that this recent political trend of mistaking liberty with the right to do stupid shit that can kill you, and others, will thin the herd and possibly stave off the Idiocracyesque future we're hurtling towards.  So take that ivermectin and slam another glass of raw milk, everyone.  You might take some innocents with you but also spare humanity from your potential future offspring.

So much fucking this.  Every "reason" they try to spit out is just a pretext covering for this underlying motivation -- for the raw milk and everything else you mentioned.

10 million?  From bird flu?  Started by transmission thru raw milk because we have a mad case of oppositional defiance disorder?

According to my MAGAT sister there is no such thing as Covid, only the flu.  All deaths attributed to Covid were actually due to other causes.   Im the primarily care giver for my 94 year old mother.  About six months ago she got sick and tested positive for Covid.  I texted my three siblings to let them know she was sick and had tested positive for Covid.  My MAGAT sister immediately texted back that she just had the flu.  There is no fact, or argument, that will sway these people.

Which is why I think 10 million is more than doable.

Also, sorry about your mother (and your sister).

Some family members just aren't worth talking to.  I can tolerate differing political opinions but draw the line at stupid no matter where it's directed.  There are no MAGA lovers in my family, but we've got some stupid folks.  I'm not talking about being born with a low IQ and can't help themselves but rather willfully ignorant half-humans.

Africa tells Bird Flu get out of my way.

At least 79 people have died from an unknown disease that is causing flu-like symptoms in south-western Democratic Republic of Congo, the health ministry says.

The health ministry says the majority of people who have died are between the ages of 15 and 18.

More than 300 people have been infected with patients exhibiting symptoms like fever, headaches, runny noses and coughs, breathing difficulties and anaemia.

Response teams have been sent to Kwango Province, specifically the Panzi health zone, where the disease is most common, to manage cases and investigate the nature of the disease.

Cephorien Manzanza, a civil society leader, told Reuters news agency the situation was worrying as the number of infected people continues to rise.

"Panzi is a rural health zone, so there is a problem with the supply of medicines," he said.

I tested positive for Covid on Monday. It’s knocked me on my butt - I rarely get sick, and this is the sickest I’ve been in years. Started Paxlovid this am and had enough energy this evening to walk the dog around the block - and it wore me out. It’s only been two days of sleeping on an air mattress in the home office to stay away from the family, and I’m starting to go stir crazy.

Metformin may end up being added to paxlovid look it up maybe get on it. Go get a vit c drip, add glutathione. NAD is good add too. Take vit c, zinc and quercetin every day - high dose on vit c like really high. That cocktail helps stop cytokine storms. Take Zyrtec or another antihistamine daily.   Histamine system can go wonky too, that’s not just allergies it’s fucked up if Covid gets your histamine system. Take a good B complex. Take nattokinase and cucermin they both have clot busting properties which can help prevent long covid in a moderate or strong case of Covid.  Consider red light therapy every day for a week or so. There’s a lot more you can do.

Eat anti inflammatory diet. It will lower the stress on your system and and feed it what it needs. If it gets worse go low histamine diet too. Hard to do but food is medicine.

if you think you’re really sick, don’t let it entrench.

if it lasts strong for more than 6 weeks get a Stellate ganglion block. Look it up, borderline miracle treatment.

Covid is a rando FAFO virus, medical field and media has done a HORRIBLE job highlighting the risks and best course of action for this. Paxlovid and wait it out isn’t the answer. don’t take your immune system for granted. Help it.

Lab results expected soon in DR Congo's mystery outbreak

Results from lab tests on samples from patients with flulike symptoms in an unknown illness outbreak in a remote part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) are expected within the next 24 to 48 hours, an official from the country's health ministry said today.

Dieudonne Mwamba, MD, PhD, director-general of the National Institute of Public Health within the DRC's health ministry, said during an Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) briefing that the outbreak began on October 24 in Panzi Health Zone in a remote landlocked area of Kwango province, which is in southwestern DRC about 400 miles from Kinshasa, the country's capital. Africa CDC officials said they are sending a team to the area, which includes infection prevention and control experts and epidemiologists.

Mwamba said national authorities didn't learn of the outbreak until early December—6 weeks later—and that officials have activated emergency operations in response. The DRC is grappling with multiple disease outbreaks and is the epicenter of Africa's mpox outbreaks.

Flulike symptoms include fever, headaches, coughing, breathing difficulty, and anemia. So far 376 cases have been reported, 79 of them fatal, according to Africa CDC's total.

Most cases, deaths in young children

Mwamba said the most affected group is children younger than 5 years old, who account for just more than half of cases and the largest portion of deaths. The next most affected group is adults older than 25 years old.

Mwamba said no testing capacity is available in Panzi Health Zone, and five patient samples were sent about 300 miles away to a lab for testing in Kikwit, the largest city in neighboring Kwilu province. He said results should be available within 48 hours.

The illness seems to be an airborne disease, based on respiratory symptoms, he said. So far, it's not clear if the disease is new or something officials know about that has circulated earlier. He noted that the same area experienced a typhoid outbreak 2 years ago.

Kaseya said officials are hoping that the samples are of high enough quality for testing. For now, officials can't speculate on the cause of the outbreak, he added. "We are led by science."

It is bad, has lots on edge. Only bright side is that area is real remote and not that well connected to the world. But this shit gets south into South Africa all bets are off.

California health officials are investigating a possible case of bird flu in a child who became ill after drinking raw milk, Marin County Public Health said Tuesday.

The child went to a local emergency department in November with fever and vomiting after drinking raw milk and tested positive for influenza A, the county said.

The milk was sold under the Raw Farm brand, according to Niccore Tyler, chief assistant director of Marin County Health and Human Services.

Bird flu can remain in the raw milk for up to 5 days or something.

Infectivity and Persistence of Influenza A Virus in Raw Milk | Environmental Science & Technology Letters

Quote

The persistence of influenza virus in raw milk was evaluated by monitoring the infectivity of IAV PR8 incubated with raw cow milk at 4 °C for up to 5 days. As shown in Figure 1, IAV PR8 decayed to below 5.00 TCID50/mL after 5 days in raw milk at 4 °C, with an initial concentration of approximately 4.98 × 105 TCID50/mL. Infectivity was not measured after day 5 because 2 of the three replicates on day 5 were below the detection limit. The decay rate constant kinfectivity was estimated by fitting a first-order decay model and was −2.05 ± 0.45 day–1 (estimated value ± standard error, p < 0.05, R2 = 0.865).
