From pharma perspective there is just too much upside in that type scenario to pass.

I think there’s an argument to be made that they might not think it’s worth it in the long run. Especially if they won’t even get the same boost they did for Covid because so many are antivax or hesitant.

Seems like selling in 2022 was the right call. The revenue generation over R&D investment was certainly in their favor. I haven't held them since 20-teens due to potential COI issues.

Indeed. It is old news. The new catch-all treatment for viruses, CWD, and ailments is this and I'm for it. The opportunity to say "it's piss," should never go to waste.

This is the correct public health messaging. The focus should be on closing the gaps in vaccine coverage among the unvaccinated, and in particular those under the age of 5 (at highest risk of mortality). Mortality and serious bad outcomes rates associated with measles are low in first world countries with functioning medical systems. Telling everyone to go out and get antibody testing or a booster is wrong-headed public health messaging. But public health messaging is not something that we have particularly excelled at recently. See the COVID vaccine strategy and messaging.

You had no problem with the president using aid to Ukraine in a blackmail attempt to get Ukraine to make up things about Hunter Biden, and you supported the subsequent impeachment process where the GOP did not allow witnesses or exhibits to be used at the trial, with Senators violating the actual oath to participate in an impeachment by deciding how they were going to vote in advance.

None of that bothers you because you support Russia.  Like World War II, Ukraine, if only those jews had jumped into ditches and shoveled the dirt over themselves, there would be no need to be shot by Einsatzgruppen.   Clearly, like Ukraine, they provoked the consequence.

pee-pee tape.   bless your heart.

The amount of really dumb people swayed to be anti vax by political headlines and fake post on Facebook without doing any research is truly amazing to watch. Lady that use to work for my dad posted some fake bs shared post on Tetanus shots.  Posted the actual info from the site the info in the post supposedly came from with a link and the mortality rate of tetanus even when treated which is 11%, as a reply.  Her reply was literally “good information I still ain’t getting no vaccines”.

It’s great that these are all happening in communities with extremely robust healthcare systems. Oh, wait.

This has likely already been covered and I missed it, but based on the epicenter being in Gaines County this is clearly an issue with the Russian Mennonites who moved in there a few decades ago.  Not that there aren't plenty of run-of-the-mill yoga-loving new-agers and ivermectin-guzzling dumbasses who are on the anti-vax train, but this outbreak seems to be more of a cultural/immigration issue.  Here's hoping they all don't join forces, although that may be a win if the modern anti-vax crowd chooses to isolate themselves in places like Seminole.

Yeah, we've covered the Mennonite stuff pretty thoroughly, although I'd characterize them more as Germans.

Yes, they migrated to the steppe around the Volga River centuries ago, but they were never "Russian." This particular group resettled some time ago in Canada, and then they moved to Chihuahua state in Mexico at some point. And, now, since the 1990s, a bunch of them are in parts of West Texas with the highest concentration in and around Gaines County where they likely make up about half the population.

I've been there; it's a weird on-the-ground social and cultural dynamic.

I never said you wildly endorsed those things. I am correctly pointing out that you never criticized those things. I guess it is dumb luck that you never say anything bad about Russia but like to talk about Nazis in Ukraine as much as you can.

But it is interesting that a poster universally considered on this board as a Putin shill to be claiming that it is a fabrication to suggest that you support Russia.    I will admit that we could not see your Susan Collins furrowed brow during your both sides comments.

I just spoke with an attorney in my office who is Hispanic, with her parents coming from Honduras.   Her older siblings were born in Honduras while she was born in the states.   She told me that at a recent family dinner her older sister’s husband mentioned that they should be all right because his wife had a birth certificate and was a citizen.   She told him, “ your wife? She doesn’t have a US birth certificate. She was born in Honduras and I don’t think she ever went through the steps to gain full citizenship.”   This was the first that the hubs had heard of this.

Oh. The lawyer‘s mom voted for Trump because he was against abortion.  She is Uber Catholic, and now refers to Trump as “The Devil” because she has so many friends and family members about to be deported.  Her mom also works for the government. lol

She told her mom, “I don’t want bad things to happen to you because you voted for Trump, but if they do bad things to you it will be self-inflicted.”   That young lawyer tried to explain Project 25 to them before the election- but they refused to listen because “Democrats were killing all the babies”.

I did not share with her that I hope her mom loses her job.

Smells like mental illness and maybe booze up in here.

You’re talking about the Irish, not the Amish, and actually the Amish are not the same as the Mennonites, who are the problem, so let’s focus on the Mennonites who apparently like Texas State and Twin  Peaks.

we all gonna die

Pretty quick transmission to go from 3 to 50 if they died within 48 hours.

Common burial practice probably helped it. Burying the dead is a major way ebola spreads.

Testing neg for those is interesting. ah shit, we got us one of them new hemorrhagic fever thingies.

Anyone know when the CDC intervention team is heading over?

With the measles cases at around 124 now, of course there is an internet push of disinformation by the anti-vaccine groups. Apparently the measles vaccine itself is responsible for the outbreak according to the Childrens' Defense Fund (the anti-vaccine group from which RFK Jr withdrew after being tabbed as Secretary). The Texas Dept. of Health has actually been testing all the cases and they've all been a known wild type strain and not the vaccine but health officials are going to be fighting on two fronts in trying to stop the spread.

Thanks.  I don't know why I had Russians in my head.  I've spent time in Gaines County as well, but only as a visitor (we were in the same district with Seminole, and I don't miss those long bus rides home after getting whipped in football).   That migration didn't really pick up speed until after my time, but I recall the beginnings of it and the grumbling of the locals.
