What time will A&M game kick? WTF Wedding shower at 3 pm....

This is just the tip of the iceberg for OP.

This woman will subject your wife to the following money grabs throughout both of your lifetimes:

Wedding Shower

Bridal Shower

Bachelorette Party

Rehearsal Dinner

Actual Wedding at an inconvenient time

Baby shower

Gender reveal

Post-birth baby welcoming party

And if her friend gets divorced you can throw in a Divorce party. If she has a second marriage you get to do everything all over again. Rinse and repeat.

Here’s what you do…

Tell your wife that you love her dearly but that you’d rather claw your fucking eyes out with a Taco Casa spork while listening to the OU band play Creed songs than to miss watching live, Texas kick open the proverbial aggy bedroom door, stroll across the room and steal his covers, and kick his ass on the way back to the top bunk, where the bitches stay. 🤘🏼

In all honesty, if you’ve been married for 38 years, you’re going to do what you always do, which is make your decision based on how much shit you’re willing to put up with from your wife.

Good luck, homie.

Well shit.  My wife is invited to a shower on game day. That starts at 3 fucking o'clock!!!!  I assume they (sort of like me) thought the game was going to be on Friday.  The kicker is the damn shower is at The Bowie on Rainey, and apparently there is no parking?!?!?!

While it would be immensely funny for you to frantically drive around the wrong part of town while your wife’s anger, frustration and disappointment grows, I’m surprised no one has pointed out that “the Bowie” is not located on Rainey Street.  The Bowie is in fact located off of West Sixth street… 15-20 min away from Rainey at peak times.

You’re clearly not cut out for this.  Just hire a professional and stay at home.

I know a couple who have been going to Texas OU for decades. When their first grandchild was about to be born, the due date was mid October.

Their daughter asked, what are y'all gonna do if the baby comes on Texas OU weekend?

The wife said we'll meet our grandbaby on Sunday when we get back from Dallas.

You either have priorities or you don't. You pick a side and you don't whine about missing weddings/showers/etc. or missing football games. It's all entirely your choice.

I’d start by asking your wife why she is so intent on you being down on Rainey Street on Saturday evening? Sounds suspicious. Hope you can swim better than the others could.

And also, Uber is the answer here. Not even Uber black.  Issues like this really should’ve been settled 38 years ago. My girlfriend knows that I would bend over backwards and move mountains to help her out with the important things in life. But there is no fucking way she would ever tell me she’s too good for Uber and expect me to miss a game for some high maintenance bullshit.

Mom is always right.

On the Uber talk, I don’t do Uber Black often but Uber comfort for a few dollars more usually equals a newer nicer make and model SUV sometimes car. The few extra dollars is worth not having to sit in the back of someone’s dented up older Chevy Malibu they just smoked a joint in.

My car is nicer than a Malibu.

I have an actual wedding to go to that evening for my wife’s cousin that starts at 4 and ends at 11. What’s worse is that it’s in south Louisiana and there won’t be a single other Longhorn there. What a kick in the nards.

Same goes for you too. Fake sick and watch the game.

Hook’em!!!

She's getting married in downtown Austin on a home game weekend? Is she insane?!

You are setting yourself up for future anniversary conflict by having a wedding date near an annual rivalry game.  I speak from experience with an anniversary of October 13th.  My wife always wants to travel somewhere for our anniversary and it often complicates watching TX/OU.  Watched last year from a cruise ship somewhere off the coast of Albania.

Yeah man, seems like at least one of your facts ain't straight. If the game's at 2:30, I'd probably pop on some Craig Way for the drive in, drop her off, and go to the Tavern or some such to watch the game. If it's close when the party wraps, have her uber over to you.

Though, I would still have money on night game since it'll likely be too huge to pass up for the primetime spot.

Doesn’t putting your foot down make it easier for your toes to be stepped on ?

Out of curiosity, I did a cursory Google search for the expression and the only thing I came up with ... my sincere apologies in advance to all ... was this:

Thought about how I'd rewrite the it. Would probably be "kick 'em in the ass."

I could see a scenario of Clemson USc 11 am

Iron bowl 2:30

Texas 6:30.

alL on ABC.  There is almost no way we’re not prime time if we beat Kentucky.  Will be one of the highest rated games of all time imo if the SEC title game appearance is on the line.

Agreed. First meeting in 13 years. Both teams top 15(Aggy may be closer to 10).  SEC title game in the line.
