i've wanted to start this thread for a while, so here we go.

post one of your favorite, often-used gifs from a tv show or movie, and explain where it comes from and what is happening to cause the gif. for example:

Wee Bay GIFs | Tenor

this gif is of wee-bey from the wire. s1e12 - "cleaning up". he has this realization/reaction when stringer tells him that the girl that got shot in the back-alley drug deal setup was actually an undercover cop (kima). before then he thought it was just "one of orlando's ho's".

go.

Happy Hour Drinking GIF by Saturday Night Live

SNL game show skit.   Jessica Dallas-Chastain - Ron Howard’s daughter and occasional director of Mandalorian episodes.

Tombstone, Johnny Ringo’s comments about the death of an Earp.  appropriate for when somebody says or does something that crosses a line but is still funny.  Usually death-related.

amused jaw drop GIF

Survivor TV show.  Not sure of the context because I don’t watch such shows, but I think @Deej and I came to the conclusion that it was the perfect gif for Shaggy and now Surly, with the women representing polite society and the guy representing Shaggy/Surly when something awful happens that we find funny but we know society doesn’t.

These three were split off from their original "tribe"/allies.  The girls are reacting to the fact that one of their friends/allies had been voted off in the previous tribal council.  The dude, is obviously happy about this outcome.  I'm pretty sure that's the context.

I've texted this to my son at least 30 times in the last two years during our high school and/or Cowboy games.  I actually don't recall the context.  Halp!

a man in a suit and tie is raising his hand in the air in a crowd of people .

From Curb when Larry is in The Producers and forgets his lines.

I like these two, but I have no idea of the origin.

Probably from some kid's show where the mom and dad are trying to get a night out on the town without the kids in tow and they finally pull it off.

I've used this a few times.  I find it to be an appropriate reaction to lots of things ranging from the totally heinous to the slightly off-putting.

Larry David Reaction GIF

That's from the end of a brilliant Curb Your Enthusiasm episode called Palestinian Chicken from Season 8, Ep 3. There's a Persian chicken place that Larry and Jeff absolutely love, but the problem is that it's very pro-Palestine and anti-Israel. He gets a some credit for fighting with Super Dave in the parking lot over wearing his yamaka to it and wins over the crowd of anti-semites in the store.

Larry ends up sleeping with a beautiful Persian lady he met there, despite his heritage. However, a conflict develops between a Jewish Deli next door and the chicken restaurant. The protesters are lined up with his jewish friends on one side pleading with him to join them, and his persian slam piece offering a 3way with her sister on the other. So the episode ends with him weighing the options and ultimately cuts to credits before he decides, which leaves the viewer wondering what option he chose. I think most everyone I know would have gone with the chicken place. Truly a remarkable 30 minutes of comedy excellence, and Larry's personal favorite episode of Curb.
