Good call. I meant to bring this up too. I thought it was pretty clearly designed to decrease our speed advantage - and could also lead to some unnecessary knee injuries. That shit should be illegal

Teams have been having higher grass, watering grass to make field wet, and etc for decades and decades.

Then it has changed.  Last time I was there was when VY took their souls and still remember two very distinct Fayettenam experiences after the game.

The first was some dude who yelled at Lat22 & me walking back toward Dickson St - "Hey Longhorn, I hope you both get in a car wreck and die tonight!"

The second was while I was pissing next to another Horn fan at some outdoor beer joint where the stall had just two urinals with a foot of space between them.  Some dude who looked like a roadie for Skynrd sticks his head in between the urinals looking back up at both of us and says, "Hey LONGHORNS, you didn't cover the spread!!!"  His face was getting splattered the whole time down there.  He didn't care.

Couldn't make that shit up if I tried.

This story would’ve been so much better if you peed directly in his face and mouth

This is good old fashioned fantastic hate that didn't go outside of football or that day, but just a hilarious day where you are ruthless to someone because of the team they root for.

This type of stuff is fantastic memories and it's no harm no foul.

aggy is gonna be different. They are going to physically assault people and say very fucking unfunny things that aren't a joke and across the line.

Yep. Gotta take Turner out on the first series. Or at least let him know he will be broken if he tries any of his bullshit.

Longhorns Beat Razorbacks 20-10, But Game Officially Counts as a Loss

AP Nov 16 6:30PM EST

In an unusual turn of events, the Texas Longhorns defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks 20-10 on the field but walked away with an official loss on their record. The strange result has left fans confused.

Late in the fourth quarter, with Texas leading 20-10, their poor performance forced their fans, game officials and NCAA representatives to ultimately award Arkansas the win.

"It's a tough pill to swallow," said Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian. "We played hard, and the players deserved to celebrate that win, but we take responsibility for the loss."

For Arkansas, the reversal offers little consolation. "We didn’t play well enough to win on the field," said Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman. "But we’ll take the result and move forward."

This bizarre conclusion leaves the Longhorns with a stinging reminder that every detail matters, both on and off the field. While the scoreboard said one thing, the record books will tell a different story.

The Surly vote is not one of joy! 😳

Idiots? People were telling you what happened in the past. If it didn’t happen today, great. Most of us were just hoping the team didn’t get the shit kicked out of it again.

11am game. Plain and simple. Still had a kid yell at me “ dick sucker university” after the game but I successfully ignored him without killing him. Was approached by several arky fans at JJs postgame (why does everybody want to talk to me?)and we just had legit conversations about the game, where both programs are, etc. I got the idea that they were really happy about having us back as a rival and I couldn’t agree with them more. Fayetteville replaces Lubbock as our every other year snakepit but Fayetteville is actually fun to visit.

But I remember that hottie on Friday night that you were chatting up that had a pinch of copenhagen between her cheek and gum. She was pure smoke (or smokeless as it were). 2004 Cajun and Lat22 were some bad mf’ers compared to current day editions. 😆

I heard the coaches/admin/equipment staff were pissed at the grass situation. Not only did they grow it way longer than usual but during the bye week they apparently deiced to plant new seed that was different from the current stuff and it caused a bunch of issues and certain spots on the field were pretty bad.

Obviously teams get to do what they want and it’s not technically against the rules, but guys were slipping and struggling to get good footing throughout warmups and there were some safety concerns. Those who were there in 2021 said it was completely different.

Just typical garbage you would expect from that school and I’m sure we will see similar stunts in college station in two weeks.

Yes, but Ewers knows the play and the routes. At least, that is what everyone wants to believe because he's 30 starts into this offense.

The 3 safety defense really is Sark’s kryptonite. I don’t understand why but his offense can’t figure it out to pull away in games.

If we had Brooks or a healthy Baxter, this game would’ve been out of reach early in Q3.

Have to let it go. Ewers is what we have. Just hope Sark is an offensive juggernaut that that clamp down during the playoffs. Should of had partied on Rainy last night. No @Nicole44 though. Haha.

This game felt a lot like the Iowa State trip last year - a November road game against a conference opponent that wants nothing more than to punch us in the face and spoil our playoff run. For Iowa State, it’s the annoying “5 star culture”gimmicky slogan that they love to run in our faces. For Arky it’s just unreciprocated hatred. Neither team was anything special (4 losses going in), but had a knack for knocking off higher ranked teams. We showed up, defended their onslaught, and counter punched well enough to win by 10 points. Last year the defense gave up a lot of passing yard to Brecht. This year it was the offense that went absent for a while to let Arky back in. Either way, we ended both games by kneeling in their territory while up two scores. I’ll take it.

As for Ewers, I don’t think he’ll ever become a viable deep ball threat. I just wish he could eliminate the self sacking and take the free yards when they’re available. That alone could boost the offense enough to be significantly more potent.

No, she asked me for some of my Skoal and then when I handed her the empty plastic cup the conversation went as follows -

Her - "What's that for?"

Me - "Spit cup."

Her - "There's two things I don't spit out & Skoal is one of them."

best Uk and I think we’re in playoffs either way. Pull off a W at Aggie and for sure we’re in.  I love this team. We have 2 dozen ballers at least on this squad.

You might want to visit the SEC championship scenario thread. The consensus view is that the winner of the Texas/A&M game is in and the loser is out, unless there are a bunch of unusual wins and losses inside and outside of the SEC. Assuming Texas gets by Kentucky, that A&M game is going to be epic.

It’s always written Sunday morning. Except that one time when I was so polluted I forgetted about it for like 3 days and someone else had a half ass game week thread (Florida game).
that was my bad for sure.

Last year after we lost to OU I think I had it figured out that there were 33 things that would have to all happen to conspire to keep us out of the CFP. Like 32 of those happened but we got the 1 result we needed (Georgia loss) and we ended up fine.

a 10-2 Texas team might get left out of the playoffs, sure. But if even 1 of these things happen we are probably pretty much good to go:

Aggy loss to Auburn or us

Domer loss to Army or USC

Ohio state losses to Indiana and Michigan

Indiana losing by 50 to Ohio State (or losing to Purdue)

Georgia losing to Georgia Tech

ole miss losing to Florida or MSU

TN losing to Vandy

Alabama losing to OU or Auburn

Penn State losing to Rutgers or whatever bullshit team they have left

That’s it. To keep us out I think we’d need to see nothing happen on that list. And that’s just not really likely to have zero unsurprising things happen in something like 20 college football events.

Very weird situation.

You could tell by the pregame videos that a lot of Texas players were confused by the playing service. It was like they've never seen that type grass before.

An interesting scenario is A&M losing to Auburn and then beating Texas. A two loss Texas goes over A&M, even though A&M beat Texas late in the season? Aggies would scream burnt orange media conspiracy.
