UK came in prepped to stop the run and Quinn cut them up very well in the first half and gave us a lead UK could not recover from by half. Play calling was good, run game took off as Quinn did his thing - it was a great game plan and play calling and execution were very good.

No, it was not perfect, but this is football, shit is not going to go perfectly. UK's D is no joke, and we made them look bad, but that doesn't mean they aren't capable of making big plays.

Overall, we kicked their asses. Enjoy it.

My take is I remember a certain coach back in 2009 that decided to not really give the backup QB a lot of real game time - he completed 30 of 66 attempts on the year.  Then one of our greatest QBs went down in the title game.  The Backup tried, and even brought us to within 3 points - but 4 ints and a lost fumble later we lost.  Maybe that wasn't the best time to have to rely on a freshman with mostly mop-up duty when he could've had much more playing time in any of the games we ran away with.  https://fbschedules.com/2009-texas-football-schedule/

I don't get it.

It's a good thing our backup this year started two games, has almost 1K yards passing with 9 TDs and 2 picks to go with 53 rushing yards and a TD.  I would have put Arch in yesterday but not for the Garrett Gilbert experience reason.

You may not like it, I may not like it but at some point gonna just have to trust Bill Parcels when it comes to Sark and his 88% winning percentage over the last 2 seasons.

The team answered every KFC score with a TD of their own. That’s badass. The final drive with all runs and the TD, that should put some fear in uk for the rest of our time in SEC. Still need to earn our way in to get a chance for a second shot at uga and the conf champ… Stakes are high.

Coverages have been pretty good consistently.  Our returners seem to make questionable decisions much of the time, especially Bolden.
Do you really lay Auburn's regression and punter injuries at the feet of the ST coach?  I guess you have to, but sometimes shit happens.

Banks needs to quit monkeying around

I remain pretty concerned about special teams, but not due to coaching in a direct sense. I suppose Auburn and Kern are what they are, but I'm hopeful both start much hotter streaks in B/CS. Bolden I love as a competitor and receiver, but he really needs to quit thinking he has to turn every punt in the shadow of our goalpost into a return score. One or more of those issues could easily be the death blow to our season.

Our kicking game is a joke.  Obviously not a coaching issue.  It's a talent issue.  We have a top 3 D and top 10 O and a bottom tier ST's.  We did a hell of a job overall with roster construction this year but dropped the ball here obviously.  Need to get better next year.   Those 10+ yards we are losing on average on each punt really adds up and has helped keep teams in games.  It will really hurt us against better teams in the playoffs.

Maybe Sark felt like Kentucky had no shot of beating us even without Quinn doing anything, but that's arrogant as hell. Once he fumbled and it was returned for a TD late in the 3rd it was a 10 pt game.

This was my read of the situation from the stands.  I don't think he was concerned even after that play.  I also tend to think if it wasn't senior day maybe he sits Quinn.   Real test is going to be next week.  If ankle not healed and he is a sitting duck for that A&M rush D (I have zero doubt Elko will 100% be aggressive as hell and live with the results) does he turn to Arch?  I know he doesn't want a controversy but Quinn was night and day yesterday before and after injury. Post injury Quinn will not beat A&M.  You could see it immediately the play after it happened and for the rest of that drive.  I'm sure they weren't showing it on TV but bad body language trying to fight through it obviously hurting.

No doubt Sark wasn’t pulling QE from his last home game if he could just stagger onto the field. Goes back to DKR and the dance with the one that brung ya.

That and he’s already got the fragile knock so leaving a game again would look bad. Though I’m pretty sure scouts can see his effectiveness after the injury and make their judgements accordingly.

Mind blowing to me they came into this season not upgrading the talent here.  The shittiest sub .500 sec teams have punters that put ours to shame.
