FanDuel has the game live now and hasnt moved the line, still -7.5,  which seems odd. I don't have an account, so maybe it wont let you bet  it, I don't know.

Nothing has changed for aggy and they didn't have any serious injuries. They still control their own destiny for the SECCG and the playoffs. Not sure why the line would move.

the stat I saw today (prior to the aggy loss) was 68% chance if we lose to aggy

A lot happened today.

A 3 loss Alabama is not getting in over Texas. A 3 loss Ole Miss is not getting in over Texas. A 2 loss BYU is not getting in over Texas. A 3 loss aggy is not getting in over Texas unless they win the SEC championship. It's unlikely a 1 loss Indiana gets in over a 2 loss Texas but I think that's the only questionable one.

A lot of teams slotted in the playoffs lost today, dude. We are a lock to make the playoffs.

We are 1000% in at this point. The results of next week just determine seeding.

I'll be very happy to be wrong but I haven't seen anything official.

Official? It’s technically all speculation for any team besides the conference champs until the committee announces the at large spots after championship Saturday. But effectively, we clinched a spot with the chaos today

you're not sure why the line would move after they just struggled with a shitty Auburn team? Man, you're on a roll. I bet it will move if they think Ewers is healthy.

I don't think you know what locks mean when talking about a selection committee if you're using terms like "official."

for fucks sake, all I said was right now we are not guaranteed a playoff spot with a loss to aggy....meaning no one from the playoff selection committee announced Texas has a playoff spot tonight.

I cant even conjure up a scenario where we dont make it in the playoff. It's statistically impossible for us to miss.

This seems like win/win for us.  If we lose, we don’t have to fuck with the SEC champ game and go straight to the playoffs.  If we win, we get to drag our nuts over aggy faces and get revenge on GA…..and then go to the playoffs.

I’ll take option 2 and get a bye in the first round.

You're the one that's making idiotic arguments. How does "controlling your own destiny" impact the line? No shit, they can still make the SEC championship game. That means nothing in the context of who the better team is and recent data points of aggy struggling with a 4-6 Auburn team.

There's no sense arguing when the other side is sticking to the literal definition of "no chance."  99.9% of people understand what was meant by "no chance Texas misses the playoffs even with a loss to Aggie", but if someone wants to take it literally, sure.  It might all be moot since there's "a chance" the world could end before the game.

Aggy lost and Ewers is hurt. The line didn't move so right now it looks like Vegas thinks that's a push. I never said the line wouldn't move this week.

Pretty much.

5 spots to the conference champions leaving 7 at large selections.

ACC (2) - Miami (10-1), SMU (10-1), Clemson (9-2)

B1G (4) - Oregon (11-0), Ohio State (10-1), Penn State (10-1) , Indiana (11-1)

Big 12 (1) - ASU (9-2), BYU (9-2), CU (9-2), ISU (9-2)

SEC (3) - Texas (10-1), Georgia (9-2), Tennessee (9-2), aggy (8-3)

IND (1) - ND (10-1)

G5 (1) - Boise State (10-1), UNLV (9-2), Tulane (9-2)

Those are the teams with a legit chance. South Carolina is on the bubble should they beat Clemson, which I think they will, but they would only take Georgia's spot if Georgia lost to GT and in the SEC CG.

It's horrifying. A 3 loss aggy team could still technically win the MNC.

Expand

It is horrifying, Texas needs to make sure that doesn't happen, while at the same getting into a revenge match with Georgia in the SEC title game. Horns with an opportunity to make so many take a large bite out of a shit sandwich, in their first SEC season.
