I actually think Reed is going to be a bit of a problem. He’s more elusive than any QB we’ve faced this year, including Pavia. And he can buy time and find open receivers with his ability to scramble. However, we have the athletes to keep him in check for the most part. He’ll get away a few times causing some frustration.

I want to see Ant Hill and company breaking him in half.

Fuck the Aggies. We can’t lose to those cultists.

He for sure makes me pause a bit - think he was a nice find for aggy and will be their starter the next couple of seasons.

Hawkins didn't scare me at all and I said as much pregame. I knew we were going to eat that kid for lunch and we did.

I can at least envision a game where Reed finds some magic and makes us sweat. Not predicting it - but I wouldn't be shocked.

Spy Ant?  That KSU offense was a huge PITA.

My aggie FIL who doesnt really sportsball asked me why it has been so long since Texas played a&m. I proceeded to tell him that we have always been willing to play, but when aggy went SEC they suddenly tried to look at us like we were beneath them and refused to play us.

He quickly replied, “That sounds like the T-Sip version. I bet if I asked my aggie buddies they would have a different story.”

I said “They probably do, but there are whole websites dedicated to all of the lies that make up aggie culture and history.”

He’s quick and slippery, and can elude defenders in small spaces.

I hope we hit him hard early and often, and get him rattled.

Last year really was beautiful. Seeing Aggy stomped by a Big 12 "BDF" (Big Dumpster Fire) team in their bowl game was life at its finest.

And on the endless treasure that is Texags, they are already talking about how great they are going to be...next year.

The amount of articles this week already proclaiming “this rivalry just hits differently” or “iconic rivalry” or “tops in the sport rivalry” has been crazy.

It does. Unlike the OU game, I’d warn Texas fans to be careful of their surroundings if attending the game. Aggies have an irrational hatred for us that is fueled by being owned by us.

Contain Reed and force him to try to beat us with his arm and we’ll win easily. He’s quick, but not great.

And the O definitely needs to be prepared for cheap shots. Them shoving that QB into the water coolers last night was just a hint of the kind of things they like to do.

I’d imagine Elko to blitz nearly every down. He’ll bring pressure more than Georgia, and who knows how good Ewers can move (healthy he moves like an elephant already). Hope we learned lessons.

Creating big momentum changing defensive plays is how they win the game.  I think both sides know it.  Will be interesting to see how Sark schemes it.  And yes, 3's ankle a huge wildcard.    Of all the games I would want a healthy Ewers over Arch it is this one.

I don’t think their fans as a whole are dangerous. I just think the odds of a rando snapping are high. They’re so emotionally invested in this game. It’s their entire identity.

Agree with this.  Tech has herd mentality of drunk morons (as does Ohio State) whihc you don't get at A&M.  But you are right there are absolutely going to be a handful of die hard Ags that will not be able to mentally handle losing to Texas if it happens and will snap.

I haven't really had too bad of an experience there to date (believe this will be my 8th trip).  I'll be tailgating at my aggy cousin's tailgate that will have a decent mix of Texas fans.  Have several aggy friends I look forward to seeing.  A&M has always been more cordial in my experience compared to Tech for example but maybe just due to mixed friendships/family.   I do get the feeling it may get a bit more heated this year.  If they beat us they will be absolutely miserable and if they lose probably some drunks that will be best to avoid.  I'll be sitting with my wife in an aggy section with no known backup so that will be interesting.  I thought about buying a Texas Schloss baseball jersey and wearing it but that might just be asking for trouble LOL.

Tech lacks boundaries.  OTOH somebody else's problem now.

I think a couple of blind side hits a la Simmons, Ant and company, and Reed will become one dimensional. He’s not built to take hits, and no way that line allows him time to set up.

To be fair, you said the same thing about Arkansas and nothing happened.

I’ve had more shit talked to me at Missouri than I’ve ever had at A&M.

Ohio State tops A&M by a Cooke County mile.

There are at least a handful of us on here that aren’t going to mentally handle a loss to them.
