We should hold open tryouts for punter. There’s no way we don’t have two dozen plus former soccer player students better than this clown.

Hell, try out our goalie from the UT soccer team. She couldn’t be any worse.

Fuck yes. Just for shits and giggles. Aggy would never survive when Texas wins WITH one of dem girlie kickers.

Yeah, this isnt the biggest game for us in quite some time

but it is the biggest game in the rivalry in what….. 80 years?

Probably. They finally expanded the national championship field to be just barely big enough that aggy can have an outside shot at it in the last week of the regular season.

Guys. Can someone help me.   Which team is in their first year in the SEC and is first place in the conference.

After many years of hearing aggy tell us “yer gonna get yer ass kicked by Bama and everyone else when you come to the SEC.”

fuck it, let’s welcome aggy to Texas’s SEC!

I’m thinking last night broke their spirit a bit

We’ll see. I’m not sure I totally agree here. The only real impact is that it killed any outside shot of them making the playoff with a loss to us (although I think any 3-loss team with no real signature wins would have a tough argument).

They’re still playing for a chance to play for the SEC championship and thus a chance to earn a playoff spot with wins over us and Georgia.

If the loss last night would’ve eliminated them from SEC title game contention, I’d be more inclined to agree about last night’s loss crushing their spirit.

Now, the physical toll of playing a long game like that could play a role on Saturday, but they still control their own destiny to some degree.

Nah, we control their destiny.  As long as we don’t fuck around we should be OK.

That game was effectively irrelevant for them.

not sure but I thought if they win they are in the champ game even with a loss to us.  It is a rematch the following week if they beat AUB and lose to us, right?  now they have to beat us to get into the champ game.

The couple of times I’ve watched A&M play this year, none of their position groups stood out to me as special. Their DL could give us fits, but that’s about the only major concern I have. Their offense is a bunch of JAGS, so not really concerned unless we gift them short fields like we did against Georgia.

All that being said, I’m sure they’ll play out of their minds since this is their super bowl, so we’ll definitely get their best punches.

I think the real X-Factor is going to be the stadium. Kyle Field is typically overrated, but it’s going to be absolutely rocking. Momentum and crowd energy are really hard to quantify, especially in college football. However, I trust Sark and co. to know how to manage that. Plus, some of Quinn’s best games as a Longhorn were on the road (last year @Bama and this year @Michigan).

Sark has taught this group to embrace the hate.  It's part of the culture now.   They will use that hate as fuel.  I thought the vid last week of the cheerleader in Arky mockingly rating the horns down wasn't something born or arrogance, but more of confused humor as to the popularity of the gesture.  That's the kind of culture Sark and Co is building here, humble but ass kicking.

I think it put a lot more stress on them to prove last night was a fluke, which will only increase the pressure they'll play under.

let's be real about a couple of things.....

reed is dynamic

he has all the throws (cough cough)

he is fast and elusive

mission #1 is stopping him from getting hot

play dime with a spy and keep him in front of you

bend but don't break - stop the crowdfrenzy chunk plays

give them the chance to fuck up for the first 30 yards of every possession

then lock down when they get to no-man's land at our 40

sark is not a fool

he really gambled in the 3rd qtr yesterday leaving bad quinn out there

but he won the game the same way as our walk-off win last year in tuscaloosa

if bad quinn is flailing in the first half he will do the right thing and call arch - he has to

if good quinn is picking them apart we should win - but the cigars won't tolerate an avoidable loss - not in this game

our O-line won the game yesterday - they kept quinn's pocket clean so he could tread water

then they dug a trench 80 yards long - would sark try the same recipe 2 weeks in a row at a jihad night game?

sark will do the necessary thing to get this win

A lot of this and I KNOW we all hate it in the moment because it feels uncomfortable as hell, but I think Sark is also practicing the Nick Saban "I'm going to prove to you just how right I am about how good you guys really are" bit.  Think back on last year.  Alabama loses to us then the next week Saban says to Milroe "yea you can go take a seat over there" and put in 2 QBs that after that game I don't think have ever been heard from again.  His thought was likely "yea I know who the best QB is but you motherfuckers should be able to go beat South Florida with a paraplegic under center so that's exactly what you're gonna do".  A team that everybody thought was dead in the water after their loss to us rolls to the playoffs and was on the goalline with a chance to take down the eventual national champion in the CFP.

Fast forward to yesterday.  "Yea Quinn is hobbled and ineffective but go and close out this team you have a 10 point lead on....you're more than good enough".

Is it risky at times?  Sure.  Does that kind of stuff build culture?  Absolutely.

I think the biggest change from the loss for A&M is that they likely will not get in if they beat Texas and then lose to UGA. I think they probably would have gotten in in that scenario before the loss to Auburn. Now they would have 4 losses.

I'm not sure it broke their spirit but I don't think they're a very good football team.

They've lost their last 2 games against P5 competition and really should have lost to LSU if Nussmeir didn't collapse under pressure.

This is a weird game. If aggy pulls an upset, we’re still in the playoffs with 2 losses. If we win, we’re still in the playoffs even if we lose to Georgia with 2 losses. So ultimately, the game doesn’t really matter for us. Of course I want to win, but I’m not going to be crushed if we don’t.

if aggy does win, Texas was a National Champ caliber team. If they lose, we benefited from an easy schedule and didn’t beat anyone this year. Aggy moral victory no matter the outcome.

Any hope Connor Weigman will play this game? That's my thanksgiving wish

I bet aggy is hoping we don't plan for Weigman so they can pull the switcheroo that Mobilehoma wanted to do against us (with Hawkins), but Mobilehoma was forced to do it right before playing us because Arnold shit the bed against rockytop.

They are not good. But it’s a rivalry game Anything can happen. We should win but I also witness Charlie strong beat OU and case McCoy beat atm.

Where does reed rank among the qbs weve played?

We have to figure out our dogshit special teams.

Not going to happen. We're 11 games in. The team is what it is, for better and worse. That goes for both sides.

This game will go as Ewers, the Texas OL, and the Texas LBs go. I don't think there's much A&M can do if Texas plays well and I don't think there's much Texas can do if Ewers is still gimpy and Sark leaves him out there.

Man, I fucking hate the ‘meaningless games’ talk we see all across college football. Setting aside the rivalry aspect and playoff talk - this game is for a spot in the conference championship game. How does that not matter? How do we watch this team use conference championship elimination as a motivator for six weeks in a row then decide it doesn’t really matter before the biggest game of the year?

For sure but aggy has been outgained in their last 4 power conference games against LSU, Miss State, South Carolina, and Auburn.  3 of those teams are bad.

What's saved aggys season, to a degree, is them finding ways to win against bad teams like LSU and Miss State. This team has looked pretty bad in the last 5 games when you also include New Mexico State.

This sounds like one of those “We didn’t even want to be there” bowl games.
It’s aggy- do you want to beat them, or not?
