It would be interesting to make it so the winner of the regular season gets to have the conf championship at home.  There's probably too much money in neutral sites to do it but it would be cool.

SEC is contracted at Mercedes-Benz in Atlanta through 2031 with the SEC having the option to extend 5 additional years to 2036.

In other words, it will be at least 12 years that aggy doesn’t have to worry about a trip to Atlanta in early December.

Game needs to be at JerryWorld/New Orleans/Houston every other year. Atlanta is nowhere near the geographic center of this conference, especially now.

Why should Georgia get an extra (defacto) home game every season?

Let them have the football game, just please move the baseball tournament to Globe Life.

Neither is Dallas, New Orleans, or Houston

Nashville? New Titans stadium opens in 2027

Ehh, it’s been in Atlanta since 1994. Atlanta is known as the SEC Capital. Just keep it there.

SEC - Atlanta

B1G - Indianapolis

ACC - Charlotte

Big 12 - Dallas

Pac 12 - Vegas

And? I'm only saying the game should rotate on a yearly basis. Atlanta would be included in that rotation.

Something like Atlanta-New Orleans-Dallas/Houston.

The game being held in Atlanta every single year is archaic and makes no sense with the modern footprint of the SEC.

Yes, there needs to be a rotation.

BMDs need to make it happen.

Was just saying, there's not much CFB money people love more than a shiny new domed/roofed stadium and there's a new one coming to the SEC footprint in a few years.

If not the SEC CCG, a bowl game could end up there.

Legacy SEC programs have been scheduling one-off neutral site games in Dallas and Houston in order to gain more exposure in the state of Texas.  It seems logical that at some point the conference office would want to rotate its post-season showcase to one of the stadiums within the Lone Star State, at least occasionally.

Thus the SEC option after 2031 (but even that’s a looong way off in the world of college football today).

Atlanta better open the fat, fat wallet if they want to keep it past then.

Not necessarily. The SEC has had the championship game in Atlanta for 30 years. It’s not necessarily about the money for them.

They associate Atlanta with the SEC, that’s why they like it there. Same for baseball with Hoover as it’s been there since 1996 (save for the 97 season).

Basketball, they’ve already shown they’ll move that around so that’s probably the first sport that will have a conference championship in Texas.

Geographically, Nashville would make a lot of sense. But, giving a de facto home game to that emerging power Vandy would be quite the downside.

If Memphis had a facility, it would be a good choice.  And it's a bit shocking (not really) to see the dearth of actual civilization in Mississippi.  I actually lived in Ocean Springs for a couple of years and didn't really get a sense of it due to proximity to New Orleans.

You're a fool if you think the NCAA gave Omaha a discount to keep the CWS.

Would the sec like to keep the sec football championship in Atlanta? More then likely.

Will they if another city (like Nashville with a 5 year old stadium in 2032 vs Mercedes-Benz 15 years old) backs up the dump truck of cash? Not likely.

I never brought up the NCAA, a discount, or Omaha so I don’t know what that has to do with anything

Joel Klatt really wishes this were true.

Times have changed, my friend. Times have changed. Beck is an interception machine, and we have 18 on the season. We have more INT'S than TD's allowed. That's insane. Even if Quinn is just an OK qb this time around, I have faith our D can bail us out.

Had we not shot iurselim the dick and gave them 4 times near the end zone, we could have won the last one. We are the better team, imo.

No one beats a team twice in one season. We're more prepared this time around. We know their weaknesses, we know who to block, Wisner has come on, Quinn is moving better, and  there's zero doubt about our defense. Those are some pipe hitting motherfuckers. I think we win a close one like 27-20

I think there have been seven rematches in SECCG history and five of those were won by the team who won the first meeting.

So.... not so much.

Well, if you're right (and I don't see why you wouldn't be), we're the better overall team top to bottom, imo. I really think this team is coming with a chip on its shoulder and will be ready this time.

Every prediction so far I see people picking Texas.  GA comes here and wins and defensively physically dominates.  Now they have essentially a home game and we are favored and the various analysts making predictions so far favor Texas.

Kirby should have no problem motivating his team again this weekend.

Like you said

Football - Atlanta
Baseball - Hoover
Softball - rotates campus sites (was last in Texas in 2019 at aggy, next scheduled for 2030s for Texas)
Basketball - Nashville since 2015 (except 2018 and 2022) and through 2030
Volleyball - 3 year deal in Savannah

He can say the words, but doubtful it will resonate with his players like it did in the first matchup.

1.) That stadium has no character

2.) The longhorns suck there

Options:

New Orleans

Pro - Food, Bourbon street, fun

Con - LSU home turf, ballpark not close to the part of town you’d be in

Memphis

Pro - Food, Beal street, music, cool downtown ballpark

Con - kind of ghetto… ok. just ghetto

Biloxi

Pro - the beach, Gambling, pretty central to new SEC

Con - How exactly do you get there?
