Let Goosby go to work and Banks heal up for the title run

It’s crazy how they didn’t miss a beat once Goosby came in.

Much tougher front but I think we know how to beat them. Man the fuck up and just punish them.

I'm trying to understand this statement.  The Superdome is about 1 mile walking distance from the Hotel Monteleone.  I've walked to the stadium from the Quarter every single time I've been to a game there, which is 3x now.  It's only 1/10th of a mile further than my old tailgating spot is from DKR-TMS, down in the state lots around 16th street.

Is Georgia fan worried about Beck.?... He was pretty bad last time and did not have the pressure of having to make something happen.

Seems to me if we can just take care of the ball weight have an easy time of it.

That game was not an outlier. Beck has thrown 12 picks this year...sacked 17 times.

Our D is peaking.....

..oh....and fuck Georgia

I believe Georgia was tipped to Texas plays on both offense and defense.  The Texas Georgia game was an outlier for both teams this year. Playing straight up Texas beats them this time around.

Strange game. Both QBs were terrible. Both defenses held the offenses below 280 yards. Texas running game has really come around since then. That is the key. Have to stay out of obvious pass situations. If Etienne is out that very good for Texas

I keep reading this without any backup.  Explain how this went down or at least what people think went down.  Sign stealing or tipped plays seems to be a convenient sports excuse, but does sometimes happen, allegedly.

I think this was about the baseball tournament.

Georgia looked pretty dialed in. I am not sure it was anything nefarious. Georgia had MSU the week before and looked like shit. I am assuming they took that week to prep for Texas, while Texas was prepping for Red River that week. That was also a do or die game for Georgia.

It’s all speculation.

As mentioned this game at the time was an outlier for the Georgia defense. They played so much better against us than they had showed all season. (Looking forward after that game it still holds true). Our offensive line was supposed to be one of the best in the country but the Georgia defense destroyed them both in the run and pass game. I thought and had commented at the time that we must have been tipping or something and still believe that.

Then this post seemed to confirm it but I’ve never been able to find this video.

Shortly after that the un-encrypted headset stuff came out which adds more fuel to the fire.

I agree, likely nothing nefarious. I think Georgia just had us really well scouted and maybe picked up on something that at least tipped them pass/run. That said, I do know that after the game Texas reworked its signs. And the whole non-encrypted helmet communication issue revealing itself a couple of weeks after that game as well. So there is some possibility of some gray area shenanigans happening as well.

Yeah, you could tell Georgia was dialed in and had prepped for 2 weeks for us, as evidence by their performance against MSST.  They knew they could beat that crappy team straight up with minimal prep.  Texas had OU/Georgia back to back and god help us if Sark lost to this OU team because he was more focused on Georgia.

Hoping we don't get hosed on the 2025 schedule with OU/Georgia back to back again.  We know OU is in October, we know aggy is end of November and there's no way Georgia will play Texas during FCS creampuff week, so no worries about Georgia/aggy back to back.

From Bet the Board

Carson Beck has one of the largest deltas in college football in passing efficiency when pressured and not pressured; QB#13 (out of 169 qualifiers) when clean, QB#139 when pressured

Their pressure rate given up has decreased over the past three games since Tate Ratledge came back

"Texas shockingly doesn't do that great a job at generating pressure as you'd think, roughly 40th in pressure generated, but they do a fantastic job of turning those pressures into sacks"

Texas doesn't blitz very often. And we make sure our ends play run first on standard downs. We get pressure when we want to get pressure.

Finally watched the UGA-Georgia Tech game. Jesus. Feel terrible for the Yellow Jackets, absolutely should have won in regulation.

Based on the success Haynes King was having running the ball, you have to think Sark will have an expanded role for Arch ready.  I hope we see a more aggressive, vertical passing attack with Quinn this week. Doubtful the short stuff is gonna work as I expect UGA defense will try to blow that up early. Run the ball and throw down the field. LFG.

I'm assuming you started watching around dinner time last night and just now finished the game.

This is the throw Quinn has to make this weekend. There are openings in the Georgia Zone in the intermediate game.

Don't tell me Georgia is going to have big advantage in this game because they are in effect the "home" team with 80% of the fans.  The Horns just faced the toughest home field advantage in college football given the atmosphere and buildup to that game and blew doors.  This is going to be child's play in comparison.  In fact I think the Horns are so mentally dialed in that they love it.

No they didn't, not really. Aggies claim that and the media runs with it but Kyle Field is no more of an advantage than a hopping Autzen, Ohio Stadium, or others. But you're correct that the crowd will have basically nothing to do with the outcome.

Gotta give him time to do it. Pass pro has to be a LOT better than last time.

We can't screw up our slide protection this time. We also just need to not have Blue in a situation where he is at all responsible for protection. It will never work. He can't do it.

Pass pro needs to be better, but time in the pocket is not the biggest issue. It's Quinn. We need the good version for 4 quarters on Saturday.

Speaking of Beck.....I understand 22 yo's chasing tail. But looking like a cross between Beaker from the Muppets and a serial killer makes this look even creepier.

Disagree.  There were 109k rabid Aggies there, each one out for blood after 13 or so years of stewing over the Horns.  Highest priced resale tickets in college football history.

No tougher road environment has ever existed for a college football game.  What has topped it?

I don't think that's something we can expect going forward. How about two good ones and two non-disastrous ones.
