Can we please get back to Mexican bus talk.

I rode Fleche Amarillo myself. Many a time.

I'll bet Canecutter has, as well.

I remember this story. The lawyers went on tv crying about it being over lawyer jokes. Not their actions or a natural consequence.

Assuming they were tracking the correct person leaving the park, he was probably out of NYC by 9am.  There are so many cameras in Manhattan I have no doubt that they will eventually trace his movements to the specific bus.

Assuming they tracked correctly from the park, I’d have guessed they would have found the backpack sooner. But sure, once at port authority I’d wager they completely lost him. Someone this prepared knows that area and specifically inside the bus station there are tons and tons of cameras. Only thing he has going for him would be that there are thousands of people as well. Get to port authority, dip into a bathroom or some scouted blind spot to quickly change, wait for a big crowd of people, then slip back into manhattan and calmly disappear to wherever is safe.

It seems to me that they have too good of a photo for him to be able to get away. Plus with DNA evidence and probably figuring out what state he is from (Georgia), I think they will catch him soon.

Georgia is only where he came from not necessarily where he is from.

But Adam’s claims they have a name but who knows if that’s just bluster. He is a terrible mayor and cares much more about style than substance.

Wouldn't that be true of any rich person - Elon Musk, Jerry Jones, Kanye West, CEO of Exxon...? It seems like a lot of people in general don't have much sympathy for the ultra-rich.

The shooter had neither of those things that would fool absolutely nobody. And damn, making masks illegal would sure suck for hospitals and people in cold climates. Oh well I guess.

Just think, just a few short years ago, people with being accosted for not wearing a mask, regardless of how effective it may or may not have been.

Not the same -- if someone murdered Jerry Jones, I'd condone it.  If Dak was the murderer, I'd fucking celebrate.

I might disagree. You picked some people that really are the worst of the worst. If Warren Buffet or Bill Gates had similar happen, I think there would be a good deal of sympathy for them. I won't deny, we're talking a very small sliver of the ultra-rich, but there are a few.

I'm not sure if you're a history buff or not, but . . .

Either way, a healthcare insurance exec is a bit more of a lightening rod because that industry is directly responsible for millions of preventable deaths.

It'd be a shame for Kanye because he's got talent and may be redeemable.

A person of interest was nabbed Monday in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson — busted possibly trying to use a fake ID in a McDonald’s, law-enforcement sources said.

The man — who sources said is being eyed for the coldblooded, targeted execution in front of a Manhattan hotel last week — allegedly had a manifesto on him when he was taken into custody by cops in Altoona, Pa.

He also had a gun, silencer, four fake IDs and other items “consistent” with what authorities were looking for in the case, sources said.

he can spend his time in stir writing a play about the experience. He can call it Altoona Christmas.

The man was travelling on a Greyhound bus. He walked into a McDonald's where a witness recognized him from the images police had circulated, sources said. Altoona police were called and they came to get him.

Don’t go to McDonald’s if your running from the cops.

“The McDonald’s arrest in Altoona echoed the arrest of Frank R. James, who in 2022 set off smoke grenades inside a crowded subway car in Brooklyn and opened fire, injuring 10 people, and was also arrested at a McDonald's. After a 31-hour manhunt, James was caught when someone recognized him at one of the chain's outposts in Manhattan, mere miles from the crime scene.”

Perhaps he did not care if he got caught.  If the reports of a manifesto are true, then he likely wants his message shared more broadly.

Going on a run for a bit builds your folk hero status for manifesto publication a bit more, and embarrasses the cops.

How do you fuck up a McDonald’s transaction so badly that you get asked for an ID?

The NY Post is most likely wrong. CNN.com story says a McDonald's employee thought he looked like the shooter's pictures that have been flying all over and called the cops. They questioned him, found a similar gun, fake IDs, etc. If that's correct, the guy is a dumbass and they've caught him.

Should’ve gone to Burger King, the one employee working there ain’t got time to watch the news, or learn to read, and wouldn’t recognize even the Burger King if he walked in.
