With Queen Gadot.

Will watch it for her when it hits D+.

I really think they should have skipped her having the hair that the animated Snow White did. I get why they did it, but these live-action remakes don't need to be that close - same with the CGI dwarves resembling the animated dwarves - way too much uncanny valley.

My daughter will see it and probably like it, and that's all that counts I suppose.

Yes. They've already done Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Dumbo, Aladdin, Lady & the Tramp, Mulan, Pinocchio, The Jungle Book, and now Snow White. Lilo & Stitch & Moana will be arriving soon. Hercules is next up after those 2. In fairness, 101 Dalmatians and a few Jungle Book live action movies came out in the 90s. They also did the Lion King but it was just CGI so I don't know if you really can call that live action.

And Universal is getting in on it since they're doing a live action How to Train Your Dragon.

Bambi is going to be fucking brutal to watch in the theater with a bunch of little kids.  If they do it, by the time they get around to it, my kids will be old enough not to care (well my daughter might still be up for Disney movies).

And then, Song of the South.

Seeing Bambi’s mother take a slug to the chest, run 20 yards then collapse choking on her blood is gonna make a whole generation of kids into sociopaths.

I think it’ll do fine. People will be curious to see what Snow White looks like in live action. 85% of Little Mermaid’s box office take feels about right.

But… will Zegler stay out of the news until March 21, 2025? She’s very incentivized to do so, but she’s 23 with 2.3 million followers on Instagram. Anything can happen.

I guess you can still show likes & dislikes on the youtubes now. This one has around 60k up, 600k down.

That’s a lot of incels who will never watch the movie.

Me, I’ll be there because my daughter will want to see it (although the dwarves freaked her out). I’ll be there for Gal Gadot (who will soon be in the Gals over 40 thread).

Yeah, but still... why mess with perfection?

B&B, Aladdin, and Mulan were quite good and have been watched multiple times in this household. My soon to be 13 yo and 10 yo are very excited for HtTYD live action, and dumbo might have been good but I just don’t remember. Never really enjoyed the cartoon.

The Secret of Nihm.  Make it so.

Oh fuck yes.

Excalibur was great, but I’m ready for someone to do a Harry Potter or LoTR level movie or TV series.  Who just did Dune? Get that person working on it. How do people keep fucking this up?

Maybe a smart move.  If they cast a white guy, he’d be endlessly compared to Alan Rickman (and would be seen as lacking even if he was the resurrected corpse of Laurence Fucking Olivier). Gets the incels and others who get angry over race fixated on that guy and not the fact that the movie cast will never be surpassed.

I get why they are doing a series, but given who is running the DiscoveryTrueHBOMaxChipandJoanna network, I will be surprised if we go past the second season, and maybe not even the first season.

It's just idiotic casting. Snape's pallid complexion is described a dozen times in the book. Find some albino black dude.

Makes as much sense as casting Idris Elba in The Dark Tower

So, wait, if we thought the trailer looked like ass, because it does, we're incels?  That seems a little harsh based on that looking like complete shit.

That was harsh, but when I heard they were trying to do a full-on near-identical remake with CGI dwarves, I assumed the dwarves and Snow White would look like ass.

I am genuinely disappointed that the producers rejected this version on Hermione.

A black and a middle aged male Hermione. Would've been off the hook.

They of course have to check this one off the list.

Surprised they waited so long, given how important Tangled was for Disney Animation.

It's cool that little Billy from The Family Circus grew up to start as the director for Tangled (the animated movie, and unfortunately, he had to step back for health issues or something), worked on Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Little Mermaid, etc. and even got an Academy Award with Kobe Bryant.
