Nice win. I don't care what their early kenpom ranking is, NC St is a good P4 program and was desperate for a W.

There's a lot of stuff Texas needs to clean up but I'll be patient as long as they keep winning.

Shocked a foul wasn’t called there, but right call

Yeah, surprised the refs didn't call it, but on the replay looked like great defense with the wolfpack guy trying his ass off to draw a foul jumping into Shedrick. Great defensive play

Yeah, they're a bubble team if you watched them last week. They were in those games against Purdue and BYU on a neutral court.

This will be a Q1 win at the end of the year.

That last dunk with under 1 second covers the -2.5 lol.

Earlier, UConn -3.5
UCONN up 2, 0.7 left. UCONN with the ball and inbounds.
Baylor fouls immediately, clock runs out.
They review and put 0.4 back on.
UConn drains both FTs. Up 4.
3/4 court hail mary by Baylor hits both sides of the rim and falls out.

I can’t imagine being a college basketball bettor

Horns made the shots when needed and D stepped up. Ugly win is a win. Lots of work to do to gel as a team and settle into their roles.
Let’s practice some free throws once in a while, but congrats to the fellas.

100%. These teams don’t need to be world beaters to improve our résumé. Wins over bubble teams, especially on the road, really help. Like you said, it should be a Q1 win.

Good night from 3 (8 for 17). Right now we are pacing ahead of last year’s team from deep and that was one of the better 3 point shooting teams we’ve had.

It was good to see Pope hit some big shots. I think he is close to finding his groove.

lot to improve on, for sure

defense the last minute sealed this game, that's a very good thing to see this early in the season

If Karaban doesn’t play for UConn on Sunday I think we win that game. They have not been a good defensive team all year.

Yeah them beating Baylor doesn't tell me much.

Baylor should probably be 4-4 if not for a bogus call against St. John's. This the weakest Baylor team in some time.

Baylor also lost Roach to concussion protocol in that game. Felt like that’s when it turned against them

Hit the line. You want him on the floor at the end of games but the FT shooting is a liability

Dude also has an issue with driving and not knowing what to do. Feels like he has a couple bad turnovers doing that

I’d love to go to Vegas just to people watch bettors lose their shit over wild swings like this. Definitely going to do it some year for the first weekend of March Madness.

Really needed to have kept the ball in Johnson's hands down the stretch like we did in previous games. He is money from the line. Pope really short armed that free throw, barely got to the rim. Luckily it didn't cost us. Thought they had called foul on Texas on NC St's last possession.

It was funny watching Weaver; it looked like he was just going to dribble out the clock, then decided to dunk it, and that did cover the spread. Last few possessions for Texas were bad, need to play smarter, as others have said the SEC really isn't that much of a step down in basketball, or maybe not a step down at all.

I didn't mind the ball in Pope's hands.

Tre was turning the ball over and Pope is like a career 87% FT shooter. He's a great FT shooter which makes that attempt even more wild.

This is what we need from Kaluma with our rebounding issues at the 5. It also makes me think Kaluma needs to play the 5 more with a small lineup. Kaluma roams too much on the perimeter offensively and is better on the low block anyways.

I would like to see more of Kaluma at the 5 and Codie at the 4 that they tried tonight for a couple minutes. Too bad Kent is hurt or we would almost certainly be seeing a lot more minutes with Kaluma at the 5 and Kent at the 4.

He's a good shooter and ball-handler though. I'm fine with him spacing the floor and being dynamic on O.

The small-ball stuff is going to be dictated a lot by who the opponent puts on the court I think.

Do we know if/when Kent is coming back? Seems like a real key to the team. More so than Mark, whose return I thought would be a lot more helpful than it's been.

A week or two ago Gerry indicated it would be a while and could result in a possible redshirt situation.
