Texas Oline has been whooped last 2 games against Georgia. No one else has done that. I'm pissed but it is what it is and we ain't done.

It's ok to admit they're just not an elite unit. Really good against most, but this Joe Moore talk, nah. You can't have two stinkers against the same opponent like that and be the "best" OL in college football.

Texas OL vs Georgia:

55 carries 60 yards

13 sacks allowed

I'm a bit annoyed our guys didn't take that personal. Now, they can just call em "daddy." Cause GA's front clapped them cheeks.

I'm pretty sure I admitted that with the post. Doesn't mean I like it.

For sure. It makes me legitimately mad. When you can't establish yourself in the trenches, it's next to impossible to win a championship. It's upsetting that Texas can't at least be competitive running the ball vs Georgia. It's not like we're asking for the 90s Cowboys OL.

Hell, if we even just rushed for a modest 130 yards today we're all drinking bourbon and smoking cigars right now. Thirty fuckin one yards makes me want to call them pussies.

Maybe, but the jumbo screen at the game didn’t lie. A ton of holding by Georgia wasn’t called. Stinkey didn’t like CDC giving him the middle finger about the bottle throwing.

Come on man. Terrible take.

I guess I’m just biased. But I still leave that game thinking Texas is the better team. UGA didn’t win. We found new, creative ways to lose.

Don't be like Matt Leinart. Take the offense out of it. Our defense broke in OT on some really basic plays.

Kind of like Washington last year, at some point you have to give the team that keeps winning the big games credit.

UGA has played 5 games against playoff, or last team out, playoff teams this year. They won all of them but one, which was on the road and featured them coming down from a massive 28 point deficit to see a win erased at the end by a freak individual play.

Georgia always plays with their food, even when they were on their massive regular season winning streak they frequently played down to their competition and would need all four quarters to pull away and win.

But in some ways they are the opposite of Ohio State. When the chips are on the table (and Nick Saban isn't on the other sideline), it seems to be stupid to bet against Smart's Georgia squads.

All this hand winging, but no one in the playoff worries me. Get back up, beat a couple of jag teams. Georgia night not even be there waiting at the end. And even if they are, I like our chances.

Everybody in the playoff worries me cause we just decide not to play the 3rd quarter every single week.

Bro if Clemson or Arizona State keeps you up at night, so be it. Fact is, we haven't been in actual danger of losing a game all season except for against the Dawgs.

Our QB is going to turn the ball over at least two times a game. Rain or shine. It’s just hard to see 4-0 under those circumstances. I would love to see it though.

Ok.

We have been one more random screwup away from losing a handful of games in the last 6.

Yes, the only team with the ability to make us pay for our ineptitude on offense right now has been Georgia, but can we help our defense out by not making every freaking possession in the final 15 minutes do or die for once.

They lost to a one armed bandit at QB... that's subpar.

Of course, the Sarks offensive play calling was also subpar in OT and the offense matched the other 2.

In all, a good team effort.

Hell, if Guillbeau isn't dogging it celebrating someone else's play, and we Jahdae houses that one and we win today, does it change the fact that we still have a crippling inability to get into the end zone right now.

Turn over margin is a massive tell on victory in any playoff. Hell, any game but even moreso at the higher competition levels.

Turnover margins and penalties.

They kill a LOT of championship hopes.

Since Quinn has returned from injury against OU here is how much we have scored in the second half of those 8 games.

10 (OU)

15 (Georgia)

6 (Vanderbilt)

14 (Florida)

10 (Arkansas)

7 (Kentucky)

0 (A&M)

10 (Georgia in SEC champ)

8-game average = 9 points per second half

That is putrid. If we were Iowa, playing ball control, field position and dominate with defense game plans that would still be bad.

But we don't have a punter, a kicker or a quarterback that allows us to play that style of game on purpose and gain a meaningful edge.

We beat all but one of those teams, so.

Is Texas in the College Football Playoff?

Texas will receive an at-large berth to the College Football Playoff. The Longhorns are 11-2 and were ranked No. 2 by the CFP selection committee on Tuesday. The top five conference champions receive bids, and there are seven at-large bids remaining for the first 12-team playoff.

Texas will likely be seeded in the Nos. 5-7 range on Selection Sunday, meaning they will host a first-round game either on Dec. 20 or Dec, 21.

Texas seeding scenarios

If No. 1 Oregon wins the Big Ten championship, Texas will likely be the No. 5 seed, behind the four conference champions and ahead of Notre Dame and Penn State. There is a chance Notre Dame could jump Texas, but it is more likely after an overtime loss to Georgia, Texas will still be ahead of a Notre Dame team that did not face many ranked opponents.

To pretend that the forces at play today in this loss, and possible forces that will end our championship hopes in the playoffs won't reflect the struggles we have had the last 8 games is naive at best.

I am trying to say we have a championship winning defense. It has continued to be amazing, even as we have ratcheted up the pressure on them with unnecessary game-defining possessions, but even in spite of that we are running a scoring DEFICIT in the second half in the last 8 games we have played.

Our defense is giving up an unheard of 7.625 points per half on average in those games.

Quinn himself is giving up 1.75 points per game in second halves.

5 seed is a great consolation!

Cool. Most of the playoff teams are pretty bad.

You say that like 2/3 of our team hasn’t been struggling for months. Any front that can run down a screen consistently can take us four quarters.

Notre Dame's ranked win is fucking Army.
