How'd the refs miss that lineman downfield?

Lineman downfield is like defensive holding sometimes: if it’s non egregious and far away from the play, they let it go or miss it

Did the Oregon players declare that it's bare knees day? Wtf going on with the pants?

Have you watched football in the last 15 years?

It was totally egregious.  He looked like he was running a route

I think that was a TD. not that it matters now but it was the same as Manning.  he touches the pylon with his foot and hasn't landed out of bounds yet.

I thought so too

Why would you go for 2 there?  Serious question.

I’m wondering the same thing. I’m flipping between games, but did the annnouncers even question this?

I can't tell, is Penn State good or is Oregon mediocre.

the hilarious thing is ASU has probably looked the best today but they played Matt Campbell so who knows

College football has a ref problem.  I thought it was a Rig12 thing, but it looks systemic to me.  That was another easy hold missed

Missed hold, missed illegal man downfield on the td.

As a somewhat neutral observer I thought the sec game was pretty egregious.

Oregon's offense is good. Their defense is mediocre. They benefit from playing in the Big 10 against shitty offenses.

If you get the 2, then a TD/XP puts you ahead or potentially wins the game. If you miss, you can still tie with a 2. The statistical odds of going 0-2 on 2 tries in CFB are rather low.

Against osu psu had first and goal at the end of the half that osu picked off on one of the best picks of the year. And had 1st and goal on their last possession.

They lost the game and didn’t look great on offense but definitely had their chance to beat osu and come into this game undefeated #2.

That is such bullshit.

Well, this is 2024, it happens multiple times every single week. It shocks me every time someone is so confused by it.

Not in that situation it doesn't.  By your logic you should just go for 2 every time.

Yes, it does. If they get the 2, they would have been down 6. This isn't some new thing that just started happening this week.

Doesn't matter now though.

You should be a football coach…or something.

Franklin had decided he can't stop Oregon in an OT situation so he was deciding to start going for 2 to win it in regulation if it came to that.  If this is a 21-14 game maybe he doesn't do it.

I can see it both ways

I'm fine with that logic if the 2-pt conversion is for the win.  But not when you still need another TD anyway with lot os time left in the game.  You can't assume Oregon won't score again.

I think it's more likely that Franklin is just not that smart ...and taking a timeout on offense right there is another piece of evidence in that direction.
