If we're making predictions, put me in the camp that says Georgia is losing before the final, so we are done with them.  I have been back and forth on this and it's just too much for GA at this point.  They played what 7 overtimes last week, another one this week, and the high they are on is out-of-sight.  They are going to hear how great they are for four+ weeks?  They are coming down like a rock.

Mountain West conference got a bye. Boise st, UNLV, Colorado St, Fresno St, San Jose St, Air Force, Hawaii, New Mexico, Utah St, San Diego State, Wyoming, Nevada. Get the fuck out of here with that shit.

They shouldn't have gotten a bye because they're overranked, but that should have nothing to do with it. The conferences aren't playing the playoff, teams are.

BYU vs Colorado?  wtf is this same conference shit?

No one gets to see how shitty that conference is if they just play each other. Until the peach bowl that is.

Former PAC schools can go to the bowls that previously had the tie in. They also didn’t play each other this year.

That's absurd. What if Boise State had beaten Oregon (extremely possible with how that game played out)?

Yeah, ignoring highly relevant nonconference results is not the right way to approach this.  They didn't win, but it was damn close.

Well the Alamo Bowl was Pac 12 vs Big 12...and there is the problem. They are having to scramble.

But BYU didn't play Colorado this year and have, in fact, never played a conference game against each other ever. So hardly a normal same conference situation.

People have already pointed out that Alabama discussing out of conference scheduling is ridiculous since their three losses were in conference.

Another thing that needs to be said is, Alabama was ranked 11 in spite of 3 losses because they did have a difficult schedule.  They were the highest ranked 3 loss team and were ranked higher than several 2 loss teams.

Circumstances didn't work out for them with teams outside of their control, but the lesson should be you want a difficult schedule, because if you do have losses the committee will be more forgiving.  The committee was willing to rank them higher than teams with fewer losses.

Also don't get blown out by a mediocre OU.

Klubnik is a statue and will probably get knocked out of the game by halftime. I watched this dude play multiple times this year and he sucks. Texas will win by 3 scores.

I always chuckle at phrases like "Klubnik is a gamer and gamers are scary in elimination games."

Complete word salad. It's pretty much CJ admitting the guy isn't very good but "he's got heart and that matters in big moments." That shit is so overplayed.

Replace Klubnik with Ewers and Texas with Clemson and I guarantee this same post is somewhere on a Clemson board.

Lol it definitely applies to Ewers. You know what the difference is though? We have the best defense in the country and better players in every other position on the field (except kicker). You better believe Klubnik watched Stockton get absolutely destroyed by Makuba and he will think twice about trying to run the ball.

Lol, completely agree. You know who else was called a "gamer," that Reed guy from A&M. It is a useless platitude for QBs who suck but are on good teams.

You hate to lose the SEC championship game and there is an advantage to getting a bye but I don't think there's any doubt the loss helped us.

ASU on a neutral field is a much better draw than any of Tennessee, Ohio State, or Georgia.

But SMU at Home and Boise in the fiesta would have been better.

for once I wish they had dropped us to 6.

Actually the most I remember hearing it this year was when they were trying to hype Hawkins before the OU game. And the media always loves to just believe whatever OU's program says about how great their players are.

I think it wouldve been Georgia vs Indiana to play us. There is no other way they couldve done it based on how they treated the conf championship games.

Boise would have been a better quarters draw but ASU is still very favorable considering the other options out there.

SMU vs Clemson is a coin flip. Similar caliber teams and with SMU we would have to deal with all the in-state/rivalry/little bro bullshit. That would be a huge game for SMU.

ASU is weaker than Boise. It isnt a huge gap, but Boise is slightly better than them imo.

Does Klubnik even have a Texas backstory? I'm pretty sure he was offered but never took a visit. No sour grapes to fuel him through this matchup.

I would have said that a month ago. But I think ASU had to play a tougher schedule the last month and dismantled everyone including a high octane Colorado and solid Iowa St.

I don’t think theyr the 13-15th best team or at least haven’t played like it.  Probably closer to the U Scar boogyman.

we should beat them, but they have a dominant RB and good team.

We will beat them. And if we dont, we were never gonna win it all anyways. They are a step below and we are a cut above.

Oh I completely agree.  If we don’t make at least the Semis we were never as good as we thought.
