yea but they still had a head 2 head...I have no problem with smu in over bama. figured itd be clemson 11 and smu 12 and both would've been fine. especialy with SMU instate vs texas vs going cross country to penn state while clemson goes cross country to texas.

You can't just say head to head is it when Clemson has 3 losses.

Saban saying what I’m saying—there’s no need for hard OOC games anymore

There never has been.  The loss column rules all. the situation with us, Bama, and FSU last year was unique.  Had we played someone reasonably tough other than Bama(like Oregon) it would have been Bama and FSU with us left out.

Tennessee is going to hate us even more since we got the best at-large seed by losing. Eat shit, Volunteers.

they watched the game yesterday

they know we slept ourselves

we earned the 5th seed

I'm excited that we hopefully get to play Georgia in the Championship game.

Both teams are (to me anyways) clearly the best in their respective paths.

Ohio/Oregon will be tough though.  But Georgia gets a gift in their path.

Our quarterfinal is the Peach Bowl in Atlanta. That’s already been set

Semis against Oregon (should we both meet) will be in Dallas/Arlington

Is Georgia not allowed to pick the Peach Bowl?

Why wouldn't Georgia choose Atlanta?

Did more research—I *think* they kept it with bowl tie-ins so the SEC is tied to Sugar

wtf SMU gets 11 while clemson gets 12??

"The fifth-highest-ranked conference champion will receive the final automatic bid. One important note with this is that if the fifth champion isn't included in the top 12 of the CFP top 25 on Sunday, it will be slotted in as the No. 12 seed."

Don’t know how you could trust our offense to score enough to reach that spread.

Yeah I’ll be happy if we score 14

ASU is a running team and our defense will feast

Would have rather seen Clemson at 11 and SMU at 12, but I am happy with this bracket

Yeah, don't understand how Clemson won the conference and got the lower seed. But whatevs. I think both of those schools are plenty happy now.

I get the whole resume argument, and Bama did shit the bed this year when they shouldn't have, but does anyone actually think SMU is better than the Tide?  I'd bet the house on Bama rolling SMU.

I'd expect Bama to roll SMU as well, but this is the equivalent of arguing over being the last team out in the March Madness bracket.  Don't shit the bed repeatedly and it wouldn't be a discussion.

I disagree that the 12 should be straight seeded. I think the top 4 conference champs should be guaranteed a bye OR home game because they just traveled to a CCG.

So in my solution it's:

1. Oregon versus 9. Tennessee @ 8. Arizona State winner

2. Georgia versus 10. Indiana @ 7. Boise State winner

3. Texas versus 11. SMU @ 6. Ohio State winner

4. Penn State versus 12. Clemson @ 5. Notre Dame winner

I completely support rewarding conference championships. They mean a lot in college football and they SHOULD mean a lot.

Because CLemson is ranked lower on the committee’s overall ranking

They said they would go by historical bowl tie-ins if they applied, chosen in order of the seed. So the Big 10 champ was always assured the Rose Bowl, and the SEC champ the Sugar Bowl.

I would have rather had SMU and Jennings than Klubnick.  Clemson has athletes that could rise to the occasion but if we can't be Clemson at home then whatever.

need Banks back and Sark to get a real red zone package and then ride.

We'd beat Arizona State anywhere on Earth, but the top 4 seeds are supposed to get the bowl game closest to them based on seeding so hypothetically Boise should get the Fiesta and then ASU the Sugar, but since the Sugar Bowl would be advantageous for Texas and Boise is going to get outdrawn by Penn State fans wherever they play does that mean we'd likely play ASU in Glendale?

Fuck that.  Bama couldn’t stop Diego Pavia.  Kevin Jennings would torch that Bama D.
