Jesus. We're going to fucking win by 2+ TD's. Klubnik is ass, my dude. Those idiots missed Miami, Duke, GT, BC, Syracuse. They lost to their rival USCe, too. Won by 4 against a 7-5 Pitt, lost by 4 against unranked at the time Louisville(ended up 8-4), won by 10 against a 6-6 VT, and got absolutely mudholed 34-3 by Georgia.

Yeah, we should be suuuuper worried about this Clemson team that avoided most of the top of their conference.

Texas missed Bama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, South Carolina, LSU (most of the top of the SEC) and played a lot of ~.500 teams close. Quinn was averaging 5 air yards per pass attempt until our last game, is immobile, not clutch at all, and our running backs wouldn’t start on any Texas team since 2008-2009. Clemson should be suuuuuuuper worried coming into DKR with a gutted student section and the expectations of the world on Texas.

Edit

its bizarre how you people keep bringing up the week 1 UGA game as proof. The half time scores of each team’s first UGA games were 0-6 and 0-23. The gap between Texas and Clemson is smaller than 11-14 points.

Clemson is now the 2nd best team on our schedule. If Klubnik is ass, then our QB is cold diarrhea because Klubnik is better by every measurable statistic. Do you seriously have confidence we're gonna have the better QB play in this game?

We're not blowing out anyone going forward. You actually have to be able to score touchdowns and make field goals to achieve such a thing. If Bobby and Gerry are worried, you should be too. Clemson gets to stroll in with zero pressure or expectations and the "nobody believes in us" chip on their shoulder.  Best case scenario we win this game like 20-13 riding our defense.

Clemson +11 = lol free money.

omg - some of yall don’t deserve nice things. This team will not lose to Clemson at home. Holy cow. Get a grip or go watch the ags, because that’s a team that reliably disappoints. Ours is the one with the best defense in the whole damn league

Nobody is worried about the defense. We’re concerned that our QB and ST seem determined to keep us in games that we should have locked up in the 3rd quarter.

Man, I hope I’m wrong but Texas has only covered Vegas’ spread in 3 of the 8 games since QE came back. Just 2 out of the last 7 if we’re being argumentative dicks about it.

Clemson doesn’t have the LBs or DL to shut down our running game. S Car ran all over Clemson and no reason why we can’t repeat what we did against Kentucky or Aggy. Everyone freaking out in this thread needs the bye to calm down

Yea guys, no pressure on Clemson LOL. Texas definitely dealt with way less pressure in College Station than at home against the bottom seed, not sure how they’ll manage.

Dumb post. By the time aggy game was played, it wasn’t even a considered an elimination game anymore. Texas could’ve lost and been the 9 seed or some shit.

This is an actual elimination game being played by a team with national championship or bust expectations against a team with a solid roster that’s ecstatic to be there. If Texas comes out hot, yes, it can turn into a laugher. The longer Clemson lingers, the more REAL pressure, unlike anything Quinn has faced this year (maybe ever?), builds. Expectations are a bitch.

In a close game, the crowd anxiety will not help our offense. Texas has to get a 1st quarter lead and be up by at least 7 points at half time. We need to be stubbornly running the ball in the 2nd half.

UT admin knows the entire story. One of my longtime friends is a huge ticket broker and holder of a lot of UT inventory.

Texas is, and always has been aware of this, and it’s good for them because it guarantees season ticket revenue from some of the more difficult seats to fill, and also the ticket broker I am mentioning is a significant NIL contributor.

Our home field advantage is good  enough that selling tickets to random ass fan bases doesn’t bother me. It bothers me when Packers, Yankees or RedSox fans take over a stadium and pay a greedy owner.

But this isn’t exactly the same.

they could should it down today if they wanted, but they don’t want to

Bama, Tennessee, Old Miss, and LSU all lost to those .500 teams. And not playing a bunch of teams in our own damn league is what College Football is all about in the age of shitty super conferences.

And LOL at Clemson being relieved there won't be our scary students at the game. Though I guess their chances of getting hit by a water bottle went down.

Still trying to figure out how we decided a bunch of students aren’t going to go to a game 5 days before a holiday.

Yes, I recall many aggy games on actual Thanksgiving being loud and packed. This is a playoff game - the first ever at DKR.

In Sarks last three losses, we rushed for 51 (Washington), 31 (Georgia), and 29 (Georgia).

I don't think this Texas team is losing to any team against whom they can run the ball.

Clemson gave up 154 rushing yards against SMU, 267 against SC, 210 against Pitt, and 169 against Georgia.

And yet I can all but guarantee you the first 20 plays will be 16 pass 4 run.

My point is that Texas, playing the way we have the last 2 months, could fuck around and lose this game. We need to actually play better, not just talk about playing better. Our defense is a fucking rock. Our offense needs to execute better in/near the red zone. Either setup Bert on the left or send in Arch. Our special teams have to be a reliable net positive.

TLDR, if anyone really wants to give me 11-14 points for a friendly, I’d love to lose a small wager.

Thank GIF

someone that wants to bring a supported-argument to the table for why we’re 2 score favorites. We have to run for 150+ yards imo

all you guys saying we can't do anything on offense and we suck shit threw a straw because of the last few games are tiring. we've won all these games and if our kicker makes his field goals we would've won Saturday. its the playoff now, who gives a fuck what we can or can't do, everyone has warts. just win em all whether we run for 500 or pass for 500 or turn it over 5 times, JUST WIN. LFG and fuck Clemson smu Arizona st. all of them.

We have to throw to set up our running game.

Not sure we can line up and just run against anyone.

The only team that’s stopped Texas running is Georgia. All we need is about 140 total on the ground and we’re money. Anything else is just extra gravy.

I’ve posited that Sark has been holding it back until the playoff.

The defense has afforded him that luxury. It will be interesting to see if he pulls the top off next Saturday or waits until NYD or even the Cotton Bowl.
do I actually think he’s purposely hindering our offense? No, but I do fully believe he has more tricks in the bag and has felt confident we are still a playoff team without showing much of an Arch red zone package.
At this point, it’s all worked out with an easy draw and the biggest downside being the risk of significant injuries having to play 4 additional quarters relative to the top 4 seeds.

this is giving me major mack saving / opening up the offense for OU vibes

Holy shit our fanbase is so ridiculous.

"Not sure if we can line up and just run against anyone"

Non-sack rushing for Texas

40-196
32-143
34-197
51-243
29-200
29-183
20-88
30-133
30-219
39-146
46-256
49-244
22-58

It looks like we can run against everyone except one game against one team. Our first game against Georgia was fine on straight runs, Sarkisian tried to run wide way too often in the second game.

Bingo!

Oklahoma is 13th at stoping the run. Texas was 30 Carries for 177 yards.
