Did I miss some posts of mine? I have never suggested otherwise.

Again, I said it is not an unreasonable opinion to think we'd be better off with Manning starting. That's it. Full stop.

Again, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Quinn isn't the problem with our offense.  It is more fundamental.

Reading comprehension here is clearly an issue. I'm out.

What is your point? If you have one, make it. I don't think our offense becomes better with Arch. I think there are some fundamental issues with Sark's offense that aren't getting fixed just by having a different QB. Whether it is reasonable to believe otherwise I guess depends on whether you think it is a Quinn issue as opposed to a Sark issue.

Going to be hilarious watching Arch put up big numbers next season

He will. But you'll be unhappy with it.

Nah at least I’ll know our QB isn’t a pussy holding our team back

I'm saving those for the game. I'll either be tripping hard enough to hear us score, or my trip may send me over the edge if Clemson manages to upset us. I might even fight that little turd kid who lives across the street in my underwear. I just hope I don't get banned from being near any schools for the rest of my life.

Those of us with any sense want a return of Meatchicken Quinn. We want to send Clemson home to contemplate their season, bracketed by asskickings from UGa at the beginning and Texas at the end.

If Quinn can't do it, we should turn to Arch. Many of us believe he could and some, perhaps many, believe he would succeed.

Count me in.

Wont this be the best qb we have faced all year?

It will be and Klubnick playing hero ball is Clemson's best path to a win. They have talent at receiver. I think the defense can limit that. The one issue that worries me is turnover margin. Clemson is #5 in the country. They are #8 at causing turnovers (25). 9th in turnovers lost (9). Texas has a positive turnover margin, but that is based on defense being unreal. Texas is is tied for #1 with ND in turnovers gained with 28, but 114th in turnovers lost with 22. IF the offense takes care of the ball, I see Texas winning.

One thing I have not seen mentioned, Clemson is 14th in yards/rush allowed in the ACC at 4.56 per. That is 90th in the country. If Texas can establish the run game and limit turnovers, this should be a comfortable win.

My son got a student ticket to the game but will have to drive 5 hours down to Austin Saturday morning and then drive back after the game Saturday.  I was thinking about going with him just so that he doesn't have to drive 10 hours in one day by himself.  I do not have a ticket and likely can't afford one.  If I go with him is there a good place to watch the game around the stadium?  Or at least close to campus/west campus?

You should check on those prices because you can get tickets right now for $100. You're going to spend more than that on food/beer wherever you're watching the game.

But, yes, there are plenty of places to watch. They now actually setup bars with TVs right around the stadium. Or you can check out a tailgate. You shouldn't have difficulty at all.

The Surly tailgate is always solid. Check out the specific tailgate thread for details.

On the topic of the game:  I don't gamble, but it seems Vegas is calling this as ~ 32-20 good guys.  I wouldn't take that bet.  Whether it's Quinn or a broader problem, we haven't scored 32 points in our last 4 games (31 against UK).  Holding them to 20 seems reasonable, but I think this could be closer than people expect.

UT -11.5? o/u 52.5? Pass.

Meatchicken errybody need to show up for that to happen.  Helm, Wisner, Blue, WRs, OL, DL ... errybody... even QBs, whoever and whatever they are.

The get in price by then ($142 now) will be a lot less than gas for 10 hours of driving.

Any word on Bond? I have to think having him back in playable form would really help the offense. Right now, he shouldn't be seeing the field. He doesn't run the right routes, doesn't catch, and gets penalized (2 major ones in the redzone against Georgia). I'm hoping whatever is ailing him is getting better over the extended break.

Same.

Clemson really has nothing to lose. After the defeat to SC, Dabo was completely dejected at his post-game PC as Miami was up big vs. Syracuse at the time. Their playoff hopes were dead. Then Syracuse came back to win and Clemson snuck into the ACC championship game.

The pressure is on Texas. We have to step up and play well on both sides of the ball.

Would be really nice if we can run the ball like we did against A&M and Kentucky. I haven't looked enough at Clemson's front 7 if it is more fast twitch like Georgia or power rushers like A&M. The latter doesn't appear to be a problem for us generally.

It's the CFP.  The pressure is on every team playing.

Sure, but Clemson is the one playoff team playing with house money. They backed their way in to the ACC Championship and had a 56 yd FG to win it. They are the biggest underdogs in the 1st round. I expect them to play loose. Maybe it doesn't matter, we'll see.

I don't see us losing, but I don't see it being a high-scoring affair, either.  Sagarin has them essentially tied with A&M, and that game wasn't as close as the margin of victory.  If Klublake gets rolling, we'll have problems; otherwise, it feels like a 24-14 kind of game.

They have the same goal and the same pressure as every other team in the CFP.  I don't expect them to play any better or worse because of it.

Texas will win this game because Texas is the better team.  Texas has the capability  to blow them out by 3 scores, but we haven't seen that Texas team since midseason, so I'm expecting a closer game than it should be, similar to how the A&M game was closer than it should have been.
