Wouldn’t that be a home uni for them?

No idea.

All this CFP tournament junk is completely new.

I guess it's a third jersey, so who knows if the networks want color-on-color for CFP games like USC-UCRA do now?

Weird nobody apparently read the Georgia blueprint 2 months ago and now everyone is going to beat us with it

It is just so simple and easy to replicate, and yet Vandy, Florida, arky, Kentucky and aggy were too stupid to use it and lost to us

Not Texas/Clemson related but the social media back and forth between Tennessee and Ohio State fans is….fascinating.

Tennessee fans claiming they are going to take over the shoe.

How hard could it be to recruit and train 4 NFL DL in the next few weeks?

dont forget the LBs. You just need 3-4 that can run a 4.5 at 250. (had to add that. I have become a huge Smael Mondon fan. That guy is so good. Plays run and pass at elite levels. Makes no all-conference teams, because he is just ILB. Doesnt make the splash plays and rushing the QB)

Apparently there is some (probably SECSECSEC) rule against throwing water bottles onto the field.

But... is there any rule against throwing water bottles at other folks in the stands - you know, like people playing musical instruments?

Fair enough but what Clemson does amounts to using artificial noise to subvert the QB’s signals, which IS against SEC rules, a la Miss State’s infernal cowbells.

On the other hand, Clemson isn't in SEC yet, so there's that.

Additionally, while it might be against NC2A rules, I'm under the impression that CFP is not all that closely tied to NC2A... it kinda depends on where in whatever rulebook such a prohibition might be located, and whether CFP adhered to that particular book.

But spurs, right?

I'd think that would be legal, depending on the size and sharpness of your rowels.

Sark has two weeks to re-develop a red zone offense. We won't make it far in the playoffs, let alone possibly out of the Clemson game, without serious improvement. Can't lean so hard on the defense or Bert Auburn.

Whether that's better play calling, adding an Arch package, or something else, he needs to get it figured out fast.

Not really sure we've had a decent RZ offense under Quinn.  We have been able to run better with some other backs.

I have a better idea, let's just fucking score from outside the 25.  No red zone, no problem.

fucking sam acho just picked dabo over us

the fuck

Putting the nonsense about our schedule strength aside and playing devils advocate..

Sark has one win against a good team good coach combo on his Texas resume and has yet to win a bowl as Texas head coach.

Dabo has skins on the wall, is a good coach and his coaching should not be underestimated.

Until we show the world we can win this kind of shit I'm not surprised we have doubters..

The nonsense is judging teams based on previous years.

This Clemson team is nowhere near the type teams that put "skins on the wall" and those Washington teams Sark lost to in a bowl were both much better than this Clemson team.

I feel like this is why you have idiots like Acho making these predictions. It's 100% based on past seasons when Clemson is completely different from 3 years ago.

I just watched all of Clemson’s offensive plays against South Carolina. A few things stuck out

1) We are going to see QB draw a bunch, especially after what we put on film the second half against Georgia. Klubnik scored on it once and he also scored a second TD on a busted RPO that he just took right up the middle.

2) They pull guards on about 90% of their run plays. Their OL looked pretty meh.

2) It felt like all of their pass plays were either 6 yard curl routes to a slot receiver/flexed out TE or vertical sideline shots

South Carolina has a good defense but they also got too pressure happy at times and that is when Clemson seemed to burn them.

I mean I’m not surprised anyone is picking Clemson, I mean we haven’t been exactly playing like world beaters offensive or special teams wise. And Sark didn’t have his best day last time Texas took the field.

at this point we just have to prove it and until other wise Sark hasn’t won a bowl or playoff game

Also, the last time we played a complete game was against Florida. I think we win, but it’s far from a sure thing.

Yep this is a big one to look at. The hope from the Texas side is that Texas wasn't prepared because Beck is not a frequent QB draw runner. We should be prepared for it this time is the hope.

We need to make a sacrifice to the football Gods so that any of those fucking strip tackle balls bounce our way.
Also, the linemen need to be thumped in the testicles every time they negate a play with a dumb fuck penalty. Where is the team leadership?
Auburn needs to kick 100 field goals a day. And Pole commander needs to close those thighs until the fucking special teams makes a return inside the other 30.

That was very strange. Its not like they did not prepare for that vs A&M. I am still aggravated about the 3rd down in OT. Complete lack lack of situational awareness.

it's not devil's advocate to point these things out. they are all true and they are things that need to be acknowledged and then discarded and completely irrelevant going forward.

my bigger chicken little thought is that we really need to go out and win this game emphatically because it is a big game at home. no one has really talked about it much but we need to exorcise some serious fucking demons when it comes to big time home games right now. pretty much every one with big time national hype leading up to it since the 2016 notre dame game has been shitty.

2024 big home games: georgia (loss).

2023: no big home games.

2022 big home games: bama (loss), tcu (loss).

2021: no big home games.

2020: not really but maybe, maybe isu (loss).

2019: lsu (loss).

2018: west virginia (loss). i suppose you could maybe argue the usc game in 18 had a bit of hype but we had opened the season with a loss to fucking maryland so. it did jumpstart the one semi decent year we had in the 2010s.

2017: no big games but herman's big premier was a fucking loss to shitass maryland in the home opener.

throw that on top of the fact that sark has had absolutely no postseason success at texas to date, anyone that just assumes that texas rolls this game against a 10 win conference champion that has been in the playoff seven times is silly.

but we should win.
