The question will be what happens when A&M, Baylor, UH, Tech, and TCU all make the tournament and Texas doesn’t.

I think we will get in—barely. We legit might lose 6 of our 9 home SEC games (A&M, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, UGA…and the home slate still includes Arkansas, a Missouri team that just beat Kansas, and ou)

My understanding is that there are two things that will get RT in trouble this year. One is not making the tournament and the other is low attendance at Moody. I do think that there is a scenario that would cause them to move on. I’m not saying I think that is likely but it is certainly is possible.
For some reason they are super sensitive to people not showing up. There have been even a couple of games that I could not find anyone that wanted my tickets (crap opponent) and they went unused. I got a quick email chastising me about not using them.
Quite frankly, if RT is back next year I’m not renewing.  $4,000 a seat plus foundation donation for the product he’s putting out is not worth it.
What I hear is very similar to what was posted above. People who matter think RT is a nice guy and they are crossing their fingers that he works out.  Interesting that you hear a lot of people saying what a nice guy he is but you never hear anyone say they think he’s a good coach.

The attendance sensitivity is interesting. I wonder if because the arena is owned by investors and not the university there is another factor here that would put greater pressure  on Terry.

I’m sure part of it is the cut they get for ticket sales on whatever the official resale site is. They couch it in terms of wanting you to make your seats available to non season ticket holders since the arena is technically sold out. They have a button you can push to automatically list them. It’s the demand part of the equation that they may be worried about.

Im not, but I also watch very little because Terry has made me disinterested. I was told by the board over the summer this was a sweet 16 team at minimum. Figured that we would at least get in the dance.

Literally nobody said our floor was Sweet 16. But a lot of people were optimistic and thought we could be better than last year. Losing Mark for the start of the season hurt and losing Kent continues to hurt.

I still think this is a well constructed roster (outside of Shedrick, but I have beaten that horse to death). But they are just not coached to their potential. Give this roster to Bill Self and you would have a great team.

I took your word for it. Want to buy some tickets?
