Uh…..maybe he should pass more.

He is a great passer too.

That is what I said means. He needs the ball in his hands and let him dictate where it goes. He needs to touch the ball every offensive play.

Except that one where he threw it away

I don’t think he’s in any danger right now and his team looking like dogshit against UConn on defense probably doesn’t move the needle.

Poor conference and tournament performance, obviously, probably changes all of that.

The biggest thing about RT’s time so far is that it just seems like everyone is resigned to waiting for it to collapse without wanting to see that happen. Everybody likes him and hopes he can make it work. Reminiscent of Napier at UF in many facets.

It was always going to be a long shot that Terry would become a Texas caliber head coach overnight at age 55.

RT's a decent coach. Which is probably the worst thing you can have.

Yes that’s how you end up like Kentucky or NCState football

I only watched bits and pieces, so correct me if I'm wrong, but even in a (Hurley) down year their ball movement on offense was next level compared to us.  Where is our upside on either end of the floor?  This just feels like a script being slowly written in stone.

He's just out of high school so I know this whole year is going to be up games and a some down games but Tre Johnson is fucking nuts.

Glad he and Kaluma showed up in the 2H(along with the usual Weaver hustle)

It didn't lose it today but our FT shooting kept it from being a bigger sweat down the stretch.  It will be a big problem in conference play.

yes, CDC was forced to hire Terry and this will be over after next year, assuming the trajectory remains. I think it is likely but SEC might be a wild card.  will surprised if we make sweet 16 either this year or next.  maybe a couple of 2nd round exits like last year could buy him another year.

UCONN was hot and pissed after losing 3 in Hawaii.  we fought to the end which was good to see.

Kaluma and Johnson are good but force stuff sometimes when the shouldn’t … our PG options are very inconsistent but seems like there’s decent promise there if they get more comfortable and confident

Our center play is a huge disappointment … I remembered Shedrick being injured the past couple years but when he was in he seemed like a better player than he’s showing healthy this year. He’s playing like a guy who deserves maybe 10-15 minutes a game but is getting 30+ while putting up embarrassingly weak resistance on defense and no rebounding presence

If a third double digit scorer doesn’t surface soon and Shed’s defense, game iq, and overall rebounding dont improve soon, we probably don’t make the tournament

I’ve only watched this team 3 times this year but it’s been the same thing each game. Too many guys play hero ball on this team, there doesn’t appear to any offensive game plan or scheme.

After seeing what felt like 500,000 different people on the Jumbotron in Atlanta do the horns down, it hurt my heart to see Bill Murray make a half hearted attempt at it.

Texas has the money for a legit high-level coach. Yet we sit around and play make believe so that no one gets their feelings hurt. PR Image > Actual Merit

It’s year 2 after a tournament win last season, were you expecting movement this year?

- Had nice seats in the bowl, especially wanted to sit across from the teams / coaches.
- Didn't realize ESPN was bringing its A team to the game.
- Shulman is the best CBB pxp  in the business. Along with McDonough the best in college sports.Shulman is especially a nice guy. Some of you may remember how easily it was getting around the bowels of the Erwin Center post-game. Shulman was always hanging out just interested in talking hoops. Same with Fracshilla. Good guys.
- This game was over with at the second TV timeout in the 1H. Two different teams. Especially with Karaban back. Varsity vs. JV. One team understands ball movement, defensive discipline and overall basketball acumen. The other hopes for it on every 3rd or 4th possession.
- Someone said Murray (Bill) was in the stands. Always forget Luke is a big part of Hurley's staff.
- Interesting to watch Hurley as he seems to be ceding more of the game / timeouts. Probably not surprising after two championships and related beating that entails. Kimani Young is a rising star.
- Terry is good at adjusting his glasses, I'll give him that. Not sure that translates much to in-game adjustments. Best to ask Del Conte. Forced hire and whatever it / that was.

Watching Hurley and Terry today reminds me of watching Saban and Howard on Game Day. One is the best in the business while the other seems to be an inept plant that doesn't really provide much, on a good day.

For whatever reason. ESPN seems fine with its choice. Del Conte will have to decide on his.

Mark has been disappointing so far. Yes, he is coming back from injury, but how long does it take for him to become the volume scorer he was supposed to be?

It does feel like his halftime adjustments are often on point.  Problem is, if you're down double digits at half you don't have much hope going forward.

The SEC is probably the toughest conference in the nation. We're likely going to finish well below .500 in the SEC, especially if we can't win on our home floor. Tre Johnson is the only reason I'll tune in to watch Texas basketball this season.

I’d blow a dude and give another a hand job simultaneously to hire Dan Hurley here at Texas. That’s how bad I want to win a national championship here.

Yeah that seems like what this team is going to be. Tune in to see what Tre does.

I like RT but he's proving to be an incompetent roster-builder and Texas can't have that. If we miss the tourney I think CDC moves on. The EE run was fun and he'll always have that.

I’m glad I flew back from Atlanta early to be at that…Hurley and co absolutely ran circles around RT, our crowd was all-time FEC level pathetic, and shooting free throws was like watching somebody at a carnival basket.

This could be a very long season.

He can alway share in that accomplishment with Beard

At minimum, Hurley would cement our spot atop the secsecsec Most Hated list.

Seems like a perfect fit …

Dominated from start to finish by a team with a better coach and more discipline. Always the same story at Texas. Looking forward to our first week exit from the NCAA tourney and annual calls for more time for Terry to turn it around.

You sure we will even make the tournament?

I don’t believe this is a team than can make the tournament. They’re a bottom half SEC squad with no quad 1 wins in pre conference play

I don't think we will, and we will have roster reconstruction to do for next year. Good time to pull off the Rodney Terry band aid.

Im not, but I also watch very little because Terry has made me disinterested. I was told by the board over the summer this was a sweet 16 team at minimum. Figured that we would at least get in the dance.

The question will be what happens when A&M, Baylor, UH, Tech, and TCU all make the tournament and Texas doesn’t.

I think we will get in—barely. We legit might lose 6 of our 9 home SEC games (A&M, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, UGA…and the home slate still includes Arkansas, a Missouri team that just beat Kansas, and ou)

Do true centers really exist in massive numbers? Even Edey has had to expand his game beyond the arc in the NBA to get playing time

Maybe not and the game become too fast for them but get tired of lack of inside game every year.
