So is that the BIG LOSS aggroids were talking about?? Hard to say it's a loss at all since he's never done anything. He was probably going to be beat out by Washington.

But he had 4 catches last year you stupid sip. And he was from Bama, the bestest school ever at football.

We're mighty thin there, though.  I don't know anything about Niblack's relationship with Sark, but it seems likely he'd get more action next year.

Shannon / Washington / Randle / Townsend / Winston isn't a bad room. Not much experience (thanks Juan and Gunnar), but plenty of bodies and potential.

Isn't Nibblett a speedster as well?

yeah i could see that being the KO return duo and Niblett starting off as PR with Butler being worked in.  I think Niblett could an X factor next year.  Somewhat of a veteran, played multiple roles, good measurables.  I seem to recall a nice short yardage run where we made a subtle nice move that gained yardage (may have been a TD, not sure if he registered one last season), iirc it was (ahem) inside the 5.

247sports - Ryan Nibblet

Just a portion of his H.S. Scouting Report. Go to the link if you want to read the entire report.

Spoiler

Shows very good play speed backed by outstanding track and field profile. Sub-11.00 100-meter speed, including a 10.58 as a sophomore. Also owns a 21.5 200 and very good long jump and triple jump numbers.

Dangerous run-after-catch playmaker. Runs with a violent gait but still separates from defenders. Accelerates suddenly and top gear is too fast for almost any opponent he faces.

Nibblet is a fucking dog. I love his play style. Hopefully he’s a larger piece of the offense next season.

His lack of reps this year was questionable even in the little garbage time we had.  He might have playbook or other issues?  Sark also hasn’t been know for spreading the ball around to many receivers since being here so who knows, could be a Quinn issue too.  Could be frustrated and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the spring portal though.  He could be a WR 1 at a smaller school with a simple playbook.

He also moved to RB this season.  I hope we keep him.  You need guys willing to move around to help the team.

That being said, I'm not sure where he fits...I guess battling Butler, Livingstone and the freshmen for that 3rd WR spot?

Can he return kicks/punts?

Oh no, what ever will we do without a mercenary Alabama transfer who has little to no confidence in his ability to beat out Washington for the starting spot? Niblack was a bust.

Word is a team broke some major bread for him that we simply and prudently weren't going to match.  Up until that happened he was planning on staying.

I'm hoping for the best and preparing for whatever happens. I’ve had multiple shoulder and knee procedures at Carrell Clinic, and I was there in August. Some involved in Baxter’s pre-op and post-op believed his injury was more severe than disclosed, with August 2025 being an optimistic recovery timeline. No one is counting him out, but wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not ready for Ohio State.

We’ve probably run into each other. Had my hip repaired there in November.

Recognizing we still need to make it thru the spring, the retention so far has been fantastic. While several of those guys on the list provide good depth, the only one on that list that really had the potential to break into a starting spot eventually and be a strong contributor is maybe Gullette. Maybe Mitchell but he hadn't shown it so far. Well done.

Terry might be the answer at TE, but he'll need to gain 15-20 lbs in the next 8 months. Also moving away from TE and using 4 WR sets might be the plan, would make sense with how crowded the WR room is

This is what everyone was saying coming into this year. Sark likes using a TE. I bet Washington has a big year and Shannon does a lot of blocking.

Why would you put someone like Terry at tight end who has never played and would need a year to adjust to that position when we have someone like Townsend coming in that is already the size, plays the part and runs sub 11 100m at 230+ lbs

Without inside information, speculation is all we have, but he may yet work his way into the starting rotation. I hope that he does. I had thought that he was simply a raw prospect that just needed more work on route running and such. I believe Wingo is our only other player on offense with a sub-11 100 meter.

Incidentally, I misspelled his name earlier.  Niblett is correct.

We still need a placekicker and not Headcase-Bert, or we will lose games as a result just like we did this year.

Moore, Niblett, Butler all have sub 11 track times.  There could be a few Moore on offense.  Not sure what our incoming ran.

Edit: I was actually incorrect about Butler.  He didn’t break 11.

Yeah, I've heard Butler's name as one of the fast guys too, and like you, when I did a search, couldn't find any sub-11 times either. There's fast, and then there's blazing fast, but maybe he is more dynamic or shifty than Niblett since his name is sometimes mentioned as a potential return guy. They recruited him for a reason.

I hope Niblett can refine his game because having two guys that can take the top off the field would be a real asset whether you're going deep or getting the ball to them in space. Also, I thought he got onto the field here more recently for some snaps, but I don't see that in his roster bio. Not sure if I'm misrecalling or if they haven't updated his bio.

And then ATM intervened. This was more of a case of the guy thinking he’s worth more than what Texas thought he was. UCF was presumed to be his landing spot for reasons that aren’t solely financial. So ATM must really want him if he goes there.

Niblett played all over the field this year and got snaps in many games, usually while the game wasn’t out of hand. The staff likes him.

Sarkisian, allegedly, is falling in love with the concept of optionality. Winston, Townsend, and Niblett are all variants of that at different sizes and the scatback with two initials for a first name in this 2026 cycle is also being valued in the same way. What that eventually means for the evolution of this offense, if it does evolve at all, is anyone’s guess.

Per folks on here, Sark is the actual GM and decision-maker on player personnel… Is BH valuable mostly for his connections in Louisiana/the Southeast?

I posted about this on the recruiting board today after getting an earful from two separate and unrelated ends this week about Harris and how he is valued by Sarkisian and maybe not so much by others. Too lazy to go find it or rewrite it, but I offered what I can on it.

So they don’t follow HIPAA at the Carrell Clinic?

Butler lists 10.8 on his hudl profile.

He's a 10.8 100 guy and could be an absolute matchup nightmare at TE. Also his frame projects more as a TE than WR imo, already weighed ~220 in high school. And there too much WR depth already between Wingo, Niblett, Moore, Butler, Lockett, Ffrench and McCutcheon. I'd be shocked if Terry didn't end up a TE or WLB ala Lefau

The athleticism of the average high-D1 skill player astonishes me.  My kid was all-district in the 100 m and I don't think he ever broke 11 sec.  He's about 5'8" 155#.  Couldn't play football if his life depended on it.  These guys are running a half sec faster and carrying 50-75 lb more.  It's terrifying.  Are they Marquise Goodwin or even X?  No.  The vast majority aren't, and yet they're still crazy athletic while playing a violent sport.
