I wouldn’t know Pat Green if he walked into my living room right now and played his most popular song.

I have heard of him but that “new country” music is fucking horrible.

I found his “Three Days” album to be wonderful. We took separate paths after that.

Pat green is new country? lol. He’s been around for 30ish years. And yea, of course you have heard of him in the last 30 years.

Did Pat Green know where he was?  Last time I saw him (a couple of years ago) he had to have help getting through his set. He did profess his love for his wife about 27 times during his set…so that was nice (for her).  It did lead to the “Drunker than Pat G” hats the next day though.

Luckenbach, new years eve with Cory Morrow?

Following all this.

Going to be my first game at DKR in 24 years (though I’ve made a lot of away playoff and ou games since). I’m bringing Jr for his first Longhorns game ever. He’s turning 12 tomorrow and doesn’t know one of his birthday presents is a surprise run to Austin. His head will explode and I can’t wait!

So any and all suggestions are welcome.

As it stands I can’t leave Dallas until about 8, so I should get in around 11:30/noon. I’m hoping I can get him signed up for the run into the stadium (though I don’t know exactly where that list is) and watch the band go in.

How did your son like his present?

We had an absolute 100% blast!  Unfortuantely we arrived too late to do the Herd run across the field, but now I know what to do for the fall games.

We arrived in time to meet up with some friends of mine from back in the day who were also attending.  But I was just blown away by how much there is to do.  It's impossible to check it all out.  I wanted to see Pat Green, but Jr. wanted to hit the Midway, and so we did.  He loved it.  Then we checked out the Hall of Fame and had a wander to see what we could see, and it was time for the game.  What an exiting game to see too!  But man, all the flashing lights, the flaming batons, drones, holy gucacamole.  It's sensory overload, but in the best possible way.  I'm already making my "next time we should..." list.

We got up and walked around campus a bit yesterday, hit the Coop to get some gear and then checked out the Texas Military Forces Museum out at Camp Mabry before heading back.  That's a great little museum if you're into military history.

Traffic was a bear on the way back to Dallas.  We left at 1:30 and didn't get back until about 5:30.  So about an hour longer than usual for me.

tl;dr - 100% max fun achieved.
