There is some colorized footage of that battle.

People were shooting at all kinds of things they thought were Japanese

There was even a ferris wheel that was hit by a Japanese submarine.

If you spend time on the dumb side of the internet, people seem to believe that the government/new world order is going to fake an alien invasion, have the “aliens” explain there is no God, which will usher in the anti-Christ and end times. Alternately, the “aliens” will really be demons pretending to be aliens to carry out the same scam. This has strong potential to be the new QAnon.

Then how do you explain why the four biggest drones are shaped like horses, Mr. Smart Guy?

My folks came down to visit and celebrate an early Christmas together, so the old man naturally had that Fox News bullshit on the tv the entire time.  The amount of brain rot he is dealing with thanks to watching that crap is incredible, and I can't believe how many old folks sit around with that stuff on the tv at full volume for hours per day.  It's just as bad for them as social media brain rot is for the kids, and it's sad to see the old and the young so susceptible to the same type of manipulation.  I live with a small amount of fear of getting old and sucked into that shit.   My dad would have never watched that crap until he got too old to recognize it for what it is, and now they have their hooks in him.

Anyway, about 75% of the FOX coverage was about these stupid fucks mistaking airplanes and drones for aliens, or government spies, or whatever stupid notion will get the simpletons worked up.  Are other news outlets fanning the flames of this nonsense too, or is mostly FOX manipulating their older and addlebrained viewership?  I don't watch cable news of any kind, so I'm curious if this is something that is being driven by all outlets because it's easy ratings.

This.

Of course there are, at places and times, drones flying.  That is far different than "there is a massive outbreak of drones invading New Jersey."  It's super different than "there is a massive outbreak of drones invading New Jersey as part of a false flag dirty bomb attack intended to derail Trump's inauguration," which is where this story is right now.

Take a tiny kernel of truth (yes, drones exist, and surely a handful have flown somewhere over NJ in recent weeks) and turn it into a massive outbreak and conspiracy and DO SOMETHING!  SHOT THEM DOWN!!!!

On Sunday, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said federal officials were sending a drone detection system to the state.

“This system will support state and federal law enforcement in their investigations,” Hochul said in a statement. The governor did not immediately provide additional details, including where the system will be deployed.

Seems unnecessary?

Almost certainly unnecessary.

But if a huge chunk of your constituents were loudly shrieking about the threat of tiger attacks, you'd make some announcement about setting tiger traps in strategic locations.  Because stupid people cannot be convinced not to be stupid.

Yes.  He can do anything he wants and as an incoming president, he has access to the same intel.

This is basically Trump saying "the government."  He is the government, at least after 1/20.

The question was whether an incoming president has the same authority as a sitting president to declassify information. I would assume the answer is no. But then again, it’s not like there would be any consequences for him doing so.

This hits close to home. I noticed a lot of drone traffic in our neighborhood in the past few months. Then, out walking the dogs and stumbled across one of their staging facilities and snapped some pics.

After some research I discovered they are from a corporation headquartered in Arkansas with an international facilities in at least 19 countries.

Best not to say anything further but I will continue to monitor.

I genuinely don't understand the debunkers flocking to this story.  Unknown drone traffic harrasses our mlitary bases and shuts down runways at aiports, and we've arrested chinese nationals in this country legally for using drones to spy on our military installations.  At first these idiots were just misidentifying the same airplanes landing at the same airport that has been going on for years.  Oh wait, there ARE some drones?  Well of course there are a couple.  That's to be expected.

People on both sides are concerned and demanding answers.  This isn't pizza-gate, and posting self congratulatory videos of obvious fakes isn't impressive or convincing.  Cherry picking a few morons on Twitter is incredibly easy and helps absolutely no one.  Is it a case of mass panic?  I'd be more inclined to entertain that if there weren't so many reports of this impacting military installations, both domestic and abroad.  I think there's a very real possibility we're witnesses the deployment of new drone tech.

I understand being skeptic, but I'm inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to state governors and others who have received confidential information expressing concern, especially when coupled with the volumes of witness testimony (which you can absolutely toss out 80%+ of, but it's the 20% everyone is interested in).  But I get that a few of you read a couple of twitter threads and now feel resolute in your views.

Oh, and fuck Donald Trump.

Oh, and fuck Donald Trump.

Or, we've just seen stupid mass panic before and recognize the signs.

Not a single one of the known things you posted about is NEWS.  Drones over US military installations?  A known thing that has happened, not a new phenomenon.  At airports?  Yep, same.

And citing state governors and shit ain't the flex you think it is.  An incoming US Senator posted his concerns....which he then had to walk back when he was shown definitively that he was freaking out about airplanes.

Yes....there are drones flying over military installations.  Yes....it MAY be a cause for concern (depends on whose drones they are....if they are ours, I doubt we're going to be squawking about it much).  Presuming they are not ours....do you think that Mildred from Parsippany knows more about it than the actual military that is on those bases?  Do you think she's spotted something that the military doesn't know about?  And presuming the answer is as obvious as it is IF they aren't ours....do you think the military is just shrugging its shoulders and saying "oh well, no biggie, nothing we can do?"  Come the fuck on.  If there's one thing this country is really good at, it's war.  And don't tell me we're not plugged into the cutting edge of drone use in combat -- it's one of the primary dividends we're getting from our assistance to Ukraine.

Occam's. Fucking.  Razor.

It's both of these.  There's been an uptick of local dipshits trespassing with drones and likely a few Chinamen too.  People start looking harder for them.  See a helicopter and call it a drone.  See a star constellation and call it a drone.  Story gets its own gravity, Rogan chimes in and bam.  Here we are.

Speaking for myself I'll say we ought not flake out over this, but to dismiss it wholesale is wrong too.

The military got caught looking stupid by not being able to prevent spy drones from photographing their bases and facilities. The story about “drones being seen everywhere across the country” gives cover to the military for looking stupid and unprepared to counter something like this on their own soil. I’m sure there’s some federal law that needs to be changed to track drones more invasive but the only way it can get passed is by getting people worked up with mass hysteria about widespread drone sightings so both sides can agree on it.

There's plenty of examples of our military doing just that on incursions in our airspace.  And if it is our drones, isn't that cause for concern?  What the fuck are they doing with those drones and why are they using them at night?  What on earth were they doing at Langely?

Look, I generally agree with pretty much everything you post on this board, but these are either ours or someone else's, and if they are ours, wtf is going on, and if they're someone else's why aren't we doing something about it?  Because we're presently looking pretty impotent.

Where I personally get annoyed is the condescending "it's clearly mass dilusion!" crowd, posted by a bunch of folks who I am quite confident are not clinical psychologists.  And on the contrary, occam's razor signifies that the most likely event is probably the answer.  I'd posit that hundreds of reports, many from qualified witnesses like pilots, military etc., plus corraborating statements from people who have received classified briefings plus leaked statements from the military regarding incursions in Langely probably signifies they're seeing something.  Occam's Razor lends me to support that rather than a bunch of wannabe scientists (or even worse, lawyers! 😃) reading Mick West on Twitter and telling everyone how stupid they are.

So.....if our military is conducting military exercises, particularly involving relatively new and fast-developing tech.....we should have an open book explaining to everyone what we're doing?

Gosh, why didn't we think of that at Los Alamos?  Shoulda just taken down the gates and let the public sit in on work sessions for building the atomic bomb.

I mean, goddammit, look at just one of the statements about this super-duper real phenomenon:

Quote

A senior official briefed on the New Jersey drone sightings told NBC News there have been reports of sightings every night except Thanksgiving and that there have been “little to no” reports of drones during the day.

Man, they've got us there!  There's no possible explanation for that!

Except....

1) If it is an ordinary aircraft, it's much easier to see the full shape/silhouette in daylight, so there's no misidentification of a 737 as a drone.  People don't report "drones" during the day, because most all of the things they can see flying are easily identified as ordinary aircraft.  That is different than at night, where aircraft look like....a collection of lights.  Which can be mistaken/characterized as....a mysterious object in the sky.  Same reason nobody reports seeing stars during the day.

2) To the extent that there ARE drones (and surely some are flying somewhere), they are usually relatively small, and at altitude, not easy to see unless you are really looking for them in daylight hours.  Contrast to night, when they have lights that make them much more visible and are likely to draw a person's attention.

So.....WHY are there way more reports of drones during the night than during the day?  I just gave two common-sense answers.  Note that those answers are NOWHERE TO BE FOUND IN THE FUCKING FRANTIC DISCUSSIONS HAPPENING.  People don't want to look at the simplest, most likely answers.  They want there to be SOMETHING HAPPENING, because that's fucking human nature.
