Best way to purchase seats for Premier league match?

So over the break, we’re gonna be in the UK and want to catch this match. Am I reading this right, general public tickets aren’t for sale till the 18th? Why do I see some seats on StubHub? What’s the best way to do this?

IMHO you should wait until the 18th and see what comes open then. If there are face value tickets available you can get stuff there. The team should also run their own re-sale market, so you should see things there too. I mean Stubhub should be fine, but at this point, you might as well wait to see if you can get some cheaper tickets.

Just a quick reminder (to all) - if you ever have hopes of watching your boys play, register with the sites now. That gets you into one of the earlier groups, usually that one on the 16th there. It's not much, but can be the difference between face and paying out the nose.

so i have done this quite a bit lately. it depends on what you mean by the "best" way to do it? The easiest way to do it is just buy hospitality. i did that with chelsea and arsenal earlier and it is a cinch. but while it is definitely the easiest approach, it is also the most expensive. i expect fulham wouldn't be that expensive though.

so actually, i just went and found it. yeah, hospitality at fulham is not that bad. the matchday plus package for the bournemouth game is only £122.40.  I would strongly consider that given how cheap it is. looks like their more posh hospitality packages are unavailable for the bournemouth match.

just click fixtures and go to bournemouth. easy peasy.

you're rolling the dice a little bit with the 18th but obviously, if there are tickets, that would be best. it's fulham and bournemouth so the availability on the 18th may actually be there. you could probably get tickets cheaper but will likely have to go through their fan club that you will have to register for (and likely pay a small fee). you will then be able to access the club's internal resale market which will be cheaper. but just comes down to how much you're willing to pay to avoid the hassle. that is a supercheap hospitality ticket (the chelsea-arsenal ones at stamford were between $700-$1K). also, hospitality usually gets you access to pitchside and other parts of the stadium you wouldn't otherwise be able to access. here is the rundown for that package they have on sale: https://riverside.fulhamfc.com/matchday-plus

alternatively, you could just wait for stubhub but always a little more shaky on that front. i don't know if fulham requires you have the members card along with your ticket to enter like the big clubs do. when i went to the real madrid-man city champions league game in madrid in the spring, i had to meet a dude in madrid to get his cards. it was annoying. fulham might not have that though, don't know. but for sure with hospitality or buying a ticket if any are available on 12/18, you don't have to deal with any of that crap.

To piggyback off of this, do you Serie A tickets work the same way? I'm going to be in Italy with the family at this time next year and the kid and I want to catch a match. We don't have a favorite Italian team, so we're not picky on which match we attend.

I've been to 2 Serie A matches in the last few years, Florentina & AC Milan.    Tickets were very easy to get and cheap, unless it is some big time derby.   Just use the team's site.  I did have to create an account with the team to purchase (no cost).   You will need the driver's license (or some ID) for each ticket and you show it when you enter.

No booze at the Sin Siro, but they sold Heinkens for 5 euros in Florence.

Also both stadiums used these same seats, if you are over 5'7" be prepared to be jammed in if you have people next to or in front of you.   We moved to an empty-ish section in Florence to be able to spread out.     Also, people will be smoking in the stands lol.   Both matches were an absolute blast to attend.

I don’t know how it is in England or Italy, but the one bundesliga match I’ve been to we got in line for stadium entrance at the nearest entrance to where we parked, got all the way through security, only to have them tell us that our tickets were only admitted entrance in the entry nearest their section.  Safety measure I guess.  So we had to walk around to the other end of the place and get in line again.

could have been that we happened to try the visitor section entrance, don’t know.

It was that way in Italy too, you had to enter through a specific gate(s).

Stupid question:

Does club "membership" allow the member to buy multiple tickets for a group, or do you have to buy club membership for each person attending?

Honestly, kind of depends on league and team. Are you talking premier league big 6 or ligue 1 matchup between Reims and Bordeaux?

Most likely the former but it can absolutely depend on the fixture and don’t forget demand. I joined all of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham last year and I was able to buy up to four for the spurs-united match but for Arsenal hosting Chelsea at the emirates that same weekend, there was fuck all available as one might expect.

But seriously, if it is even a possibility to go to a game, just join the club. The membership fee is like a whopping $35 or something usually and depending on the team, they might send you some swag too.

That is virtually everywhere. It is fucking extreme at the bernabeu. There’s like 100 gates and you have to enter your designated one. It was wild.
