We're replacing a three year starting QB (I know... I know... but still), 4/5 of the oline, Bond, Helm, all the DTs, Barron, Mukuba and maybe Taffe. I don't see any way in hell the defense plays at the same level.

I remember having the same feelings regarding the defense last year after Sweat, Byron Murphy etc ... got drafted.

Oops.

Where does one fly into for Georgia? Atlanta? I don’t see a United Houston to Athens flight.

Same question for Lexington, KY.

you can also fly to Augusta if you want to avoid Atlanta.  bout 30 extra minutes on the road though.

Collin Simmons, Anthony Hill and Manny M will all play at all American levels. This will be the best edge/Lb group we’ve had in my lifetime following the horns and we have a shut down corner too. I’m assuming Taafe comes back. We need DT’s obviously and we will get them, but we are going to be beyond fine if that happens which I suspect it will. Last year people were worried that 24 would be worse and I said better. I’m saying the same again. Watch and see.
also- I bet we are tons better on special teams and at RB.

Yes ATL for Gawgia aint shit goes into Athens LOL I'm not even sure if they have an airport TBH.

United flies to LEX but only via ORD.... You are way better off flying into Louisville (SDF) and then taking the bourbon trail on the way out to Lexington.  It's only about 45 minutes from both Woodford Reserve & Buffalo Trace Distilleries

Yech!

uh.... your source sucked donkey dicks.  We have no Friday night games and the Mouse would probably never allow that.

As some Gen Whatevers whine and complain about the schedule, I can't help but think about what the hardcore, internet dweeb fans of other schools must think about Texas when we come to town ... "HOLY FUCKBALLS! TEXAS IS LOADED. THEY ARE GONNA DUMP TRUCK US! Why did we invite them into the SEC anyway?  We can beat those sheep humpin' assholes from aggyland ... but Texas is a different aminal.

We are screwed!

We have our Fantasy Football draft in a different location each year and did Louisville in 2021.

Saw an RV in the parking lot of one of the places. It was fairly impressive.

I would suggest that you book a private tour at PEERLESS Distilling. The bourbon was fantastic, it’s about a half block from the Louisville Slugger museum…

We wished that we could have booked it for our draft, but no.

Muhammad Ali Center is also pretty cool, but it is as much of a civil rights museum as it is a Muhammad Ali museum, so it’s not for everyone… like bourbon is.

Athens is a really cool college town and it's a fun place to watch a game.

So if you're going to go to the Georgia game next year I will say this: book a hotel room as soon as you can. For a college town, they don't have a ton of hotel space. When they have big games hotel rooms go fast and can be expensive the longer you wait.

I thought the sec switched up the scheduling every year so everyone is playing each other?

2024-25 was done as a two year thing where you host whomever you visited in 2024 in 2025 and visit whomever you hosted. It'll be a different schedule of opponents in 2026.

And the fact that Alabama took 3 conference losses and missed the playoff this year isn't going to help our cause at all.

It’s the sec I wouldn’t expect much.  With less teams some weren’t playing each other more than once every ten years.

I would guess it means 8 conf games with a 3+5 or 2+6 model, but it's not great because it's not an even number.

3+6 is the best model.  OU/arky/aggy every year, remaining 12 opponents changes every 2 years.

If you are lucky the UK game will be at night and you can go to Keeneland in the afternoon.  Until TV became ubiquitous,  UK only played night games in October which is one of two months when Keeneland runs.  Then again, you can go on Friday in any event.  It does not run on Sunday.  If you can get clubhouse passes, which is extremely difficult, it's worth whatever you pay.

UCLA sucks, but Georgia was supposed to go out and play them in the Rose Bowl to open the season next year with a return game in Athens in 2026. They replaced them with Marshall. They cited "changes in the college football landscape" as the reason why, meaning they knew they were going to play either Texas or Oklahoma in conference and on paper either option seemed ok at the time (OU sucks lol) so they added an easier game to the non-con like a bunch of pussies.

And as it turns out, UCLA would've been a pretty easy game that would've provided (perhaps misplaced) credit for beating a B1G team on the road.

there is no reason why these can't be night games

eSiPn can just deal with it

we acquiesced to aggy whining for 2 years about the first game being at pyle

our turn to get what we want when it is totally within the bounds of reason

The defense will return 3 of its 5 best players in Hill, Simmons and Muhammad. Williams and Mcdonald should be a dynamic duo at safety based on this year's performances.

I'm not worried about either side of the ball, but if I had to pick, I'd say offensive line and the skill positions have more to prove than the defense next year.

"new" flagship schools we play 24/25

gatah

lube

pig

uga

that means we should get home games in 26 with 2 of:

cock

corndog

creamsicle

gump

i would prefer to ditch aggy and pig so we can at least 2 of that group in 26 at home

Not compared to the team we've already shown we've had a difficult time beating who hasn't lost a home game since I believe 2019. Georgia will absolutely be the hardest game of the season.

We may not get Arkansas every year but we for sure will keep aggy on the schedule since Texas OU is always in October. We don't need the dumb repeat of the time after we stopped playing aggy where our "rivalry" game was a rotation of rivals only in the minds of those teams coming to Austin. Everyone else has a rivalry game that weekend. Ours will be aggy.
