Streaming TNT is fucking terrible and the app doesnt work.

Wonder how much longer MAX is going to keep BR Sports (TNT, TBS, etc.) free. Good on them, I guess, for not using the CFP to force people to buy in.
I read a link months ago that supposedly they rolled out BR Sports free to all subscription levels when it wasn't supposed to happen. They were in the process of fixing it but we still get it free and didn't select it. I'm sure at some point they will fix it.

Why tf is this game on tnt.

At least $100 million reasons why…

Warner Bros paid 9 figures to season to sublicense a couple of CFP games the next 5 years.

sucks we’re not on espn, which gets the mega cast treatment (which would have included a simulcast of Craig calling the game).

MAX, if you have that.

I’ll post a StreamEast link close to game time if anyone still needs it.

After seeing this post, I checked Max and added the game to my watch list. This was also the moment I learned that Max streams live sports.

I used to do StreamEast but have switched over to YouTube. Much easier to pick and choose from a dozen or so live streams there without all the annoying pop-ups.

This is basically the only reason we have cable anymore, for me to watch football.  It's apparently on TNT, TBS and TrueTV.  This may be the last year we keep the cable.  Besides football the only other reason I have kept the cable is that I can cast any of my Direct TV channels wherever I am.  Mainly in that I can have all the same stuff we have at home in our RV.  That's a nice feature at night.

But yes TNT vs one of the big boys sucks, but this shit is only going to get more fractured in the future as far as broadcast platforms.

https://thetvapp.to/ has been a "go to" for me this year. Page one usually lists every FB and BB (and hockey) game for that day, incl Thur Nite. (most other channels for regular TV as well, including the Tennis Channel.) Very few reboots, if any. But, occasionally it won't feed and suggests a vpn.

If so, next stop is sportssurge. Under football ->CF (or NFL) you'll have all the college (Pro) games of that day (they may not appear until a few hours before kickoff). For each game there are a dozen streams. The top five are pretty reliable. Several are better than Streameast. All of above are pretty much Hi-Def. Not quite as good as Satellite, usually. One caution, if you tune in late, like the fourth quarter, your game may not be listed anymore. So if the stream you were on goes to shit and you have to return to the main page... (This is rare). That can be overcome by using tabs so that the original list of streams per game remains on your browser. (I Use Edge) or keeping an extra backup stream in a new tab (don't run it, though). Once a game is de-listed, you can usually find it on the streamer's site.

Not too familiar with Youtube. Have used it some. Might be a great HRes alternative.

Don't tell anybody.

I've used all the sites you've mentioned, including the TV App one, which is admittedly awesome (much better than Sportsurge and StreamEast). But I stopped relying solely on it when all the ESPN channels started being blocked for a while. Another issue I often encountered was that sometimes the stream would lag or get interrupted (unable to handle high traffic?), and I'd have to refresh often.

For me, YouTube streams don't seem to have a lag problem, and the video quality is high enough for me not to discern any real difference from an OTA broadcast. Occasionally, the YouTube streamer might get bored or fuck around to mess something up, but that's a pretty rare occurrence. One thing that I really like is that I can easily open up a couple of different game streams and can easily toggle between tabs to keep up with more than one game at the same time.

For those uninitiated with streaming live games on YouTube, all you have to do is search the names of the opposing teams. And, wallah, you'll start seeing multiple avenues for watching the live game. Occasionally, you might have to specify "live" or come across some reaction jackass on accident, but you've got multiple other options for kids from India or Vietnam doing their own uninterrupted live streams.

I'll do the exact same thing this weekend by searching "Texas" and "Clemson" a little before game time, and that's it. Really easy stuff.

Oh, and you can do the exact same thing each Saturday morning in the fall to watch ESPN game day, too. There's also always someone live streaming that broadcast as well.

That's a bunch of money to spend to go up against the NFL.

TNT lost the NBA rights after next season, so pivoting to college sports (CFP games, NCAA basketball tournament, Big 12 football) looks like a good investment to claw back some money. And they were airing some college regular season basketball in November.

I wonder if they knew they'd be going head to head with the NFL.

They had to have known - isn't this the time of the year when NFL always picks up Saturday games? The committee also knew they were going to go up against NFL games when they chose the dates for first round on-campus games.  No issues for quarterfinals (Tues/Wed) and semifinals (Thurs/Fri)

Does your provider have a mobile app? Might be an option.

Goddamn, it’s fucking 2024/25. Jesus fuck.

Ha. Tell the assholes to quit cutting the data lines in my neighborhood in order to steal copper, then I'll think about dropping my DirecTV. It's happened at least four times in the past six months, twice in two weeks at one point. If we didn't have some AT&T big-wig across the street our outage would've likely been multiple days each time rather than less than 24 hours. (I was about to make the switch to YouTube TV last Xmas and called DTV and they gave me a ridiculous deal to stay so I did. Reminds me I need to call them back to see if I can extend or if it's time to rattle the chains a little bit again. I won't mention the copper thieves.)

I'm also seeing the game on Hulu on TNT and TBS. I'll probably stick with Hulu, no idea what streaming on Max is like and don't want to FAFO during the game.

Yeah Max is perfectly fine for Streaming...been watching TNT Basketball games and Tru TV college games on there for the last year or so.  It works fine and from what i can tell isn't overloaded with views so I've never had it mess up on me.

I'll have YTTV streaming the game inside AT&T Stadium.

Choosing to attend hs football (and send money to Jerruh) over attending a UT home playoff game is a... choice.

Do you have a kid playing in one of the games? Trying to think of another way to justify this. 🤔

Some channel guides were late to update.  Yesterday, the Directv Stream guide showed other programming on Saturday.  Today, the games are first round games are listed for all of TBS/TNT/TruTV.

Same broadcast on multiple channels.  ESPN broadcast "talent."  Would not be surprising if also ABC/ESPN camera and production.

It’s been covered previously in another thread, but the tnt shit is an ESPN production.

Skycast stuff on an espn channel, etc.

Probably even streams on espn+ as well.
