It was ok when we got it in 2023, but it wasn't worth the extra money, really. But this deal could end our access to F1TV if whomever wins the rights also negotiates the rights to all the added content that comes on F1TV. That's already the case in some countries.

Yeah, F1TV works well but I can't imagine whoever gets the new deal will let it continue.

I would be shocked if this doesn’t happen. It would be very dumb for a network to pony up for the US rights without getting full exclusivity.

ESPN has been great rebroadcasting sky with lack of commercials. Hopefully Netflix or someone other than nbc does the same. Please just don’t be nbc/ peacock with Lee diffey. Can’t even imagine how bad the will fuck it up now with trying to force everything on the peacock deal.

I hate being told to press the sky sports button on my remote to access team coms and blah blah blah. ESPN didn't do fuck all to promote the sport. I honestly wouldn't mind if it's Netflix because at least they seem like they care because they can make a buck off it.

If it's NBC, we'll be soooo fucked. So. Many. Commercials. They make everything damn near unwatchable. NBC ruins every sport they touch.

Monaco is Monaco but if you are having to make single track specific rules sound mandatory pit stops it shouldn't be on the calendar. That's not a solution, that's not better racing, that's not a winning option for teams, drivers, fans or television.

Seriously, that's the BEST IDEA they can come up with?

Just to be clear, I love the race and watch it live...but it needs updates if they want to keep it on the calendar, not one off rules around requiring multiple pit stops.

Smaller cars is about the only thing that can help the race.

That said, I don't really care.  It's Monaco.  The day that race drops off the calendar is probably the day I stop watching F1.

I don't hate Leigh Diffey, and I think he's done well for himself. But his voice is nails on a gd chalkboard to me.

And we have been beyond spoiled to have commercial free F1 for several years. The old Speedvision/SpeedTV days were a fucking dick punch of commercials every 5-7 laps.

This. Beat me to it. Or at least smaller cars that can follow one another closely.

Yeah my buddy is a friend of Leigh's and says he is as nice of a guy as you could ever hope to meet, but he doesn't like his commentary either. And yeah, going back to NBC's commercial breaks would be a beating. I'd just have to watch every race delayed so I could FF  through them. Whoever gets the next contract, they'd probably be wise to seek out sponsors who would allow for ad free races, at a minimum.
