Speaking of 2026 ...

Some good, but one big reservation for me is that it seems like everything will be even more tire-dependent, more tire management, etc. Ugh.

Well when the tire manufacturer makes basically five versions of the same tire with minimal actual differences, it doesn't help.

Podium = 3 different teams
Top 10 = 6 different teams
Ferrari = 4th/5th
Haas = double points scored
Williams/Racing Bulls/Aston Martin = no points scored

That's good shit.

Drivers bitching about their cars is the best.

I can't break at all
If that were true, you would be dead.

The car won't turn.
You would be dead

The tires have no grip
You would be dead.

etc, etc, etc

They all bitch about their cars, and I know they often sound petty, esp in the heat of battle during the race or when trying to put down a good hot lap - but y'all know that they're just speaking in relative terms when they say the car won't turn, won't brake, won't accelerate out of corners, shifts like shit, has no power, no grip, is slow on the straights etc, right? It's what they're supposed to do. More descriptive feedback is better, of course, when they can give it. They give that, too, but F1 only releases probably not even 1% of what the drivers say to the pit wall unless it's on a driver onboard feed. They give the pit wall loads of good info there. Some better than others, of course. Alonso's conversations with the pit wall, for one example, are amazing, even during the race.

Ross's brother?

My fuck up,  no way to deny it. Might not be a Red Bull pit stop level fuck up, but still not good.

Speaking of not good, was there ever a good explanation of why the electronics for multiple cars and multiple systems went to shit this weekend?

I'm guessing something went wrong with the system that they send data to F1 through and it fucked up actual car systems also.  I thought George made an unexpected pit stop when he dropped from 2nd to last all of a sudden.

They are going to have to get rid of Horner or Marko.  They can't both be there going forward because the situation is not tenable.  I'm not sure what Marko does other than stir up shit with the media.  Horner thin skinned whiner that he is, has a shitload of championships under his belt.

Marko is reportedly close with Jos. Which is as big of a black mark as I can give the guy.

Any other business in the fucking planet is ejecting him into the sun to keep their incredibly successful CEO over the old dude who stirs up shit all the time.

Yeah I think that relationship with the Verstappens is the only thing that gives him any power.  That makes me think that Horner is going to get the boot or Max will leave.

If they think it's bad now, imagine how much worse it would be with Marko (or Jos!!!!!!!) as CEO lol

The more I think about it I'd love to see either of those two chucklefucks try to do an actual job like CEO. Not team principle, actual RBR CEO.

maybe even better - Co CEOs. There would be a murder suicide situation happen in like the first 30 days

Thai ownership loves Horner, so he probably isn’t going anywhere.

Just a little late here. He left his role as TD in November last year, and they announced last week he's no longer with the team.

So no Fallow and Newey is off in the lab so to speak who is running the day to day race operations for Aston.  Cowell?

USGP music headliners: Kygo and Garth Brooks.

LOL they had Kygo at the Mexican GP, doing his show on the podium after the drivers left it and everyone was going home.

I had to look up WTF a "Kygo" is.  So, a Norwegian DJ and Garth Brooks...

I mean, I don't care one way or the other, I'm there for the race every year so for me the concerts are a freebie.  Some have been great, some have sucked, but they're all free to me so I don't worry about it.

Still... a Norwegian DJ??

LOL. My exact response when my buddy texted me about it: "WTF is a Kygo?"

Don’t know who that is either but he has 32 million monthly listens on Spotify.

All the songs i clicked on sucked lol

Yeah he's popular somewhere. In Europe, I guess. But when I axed my 18 & 21 yos about him, they were like "Who?"

Part of the commentating is asking those questions.  What a douche.

I somewhat agree with this, but he's also getting asked the same thing 50 times every race weekend and we're on the 3rd week of a triple header, so I'm sure he's sick of it and running out of ways to deflect the same question. If they're going to force him to do a bunch of media sessions and ask him ad nauseum, then stuff like this will happen. That and I find Crofty pretty fucking annoying, so I like that he's the one who got this response.

It's fine to call out the media for stupid questions if you can do it in a way that people find entertaining or endearing. Kimi Raikonnen was great at that

Max doesn't have that same ability. He always just seems like a douchebag.

I too have interviewed people for 30 years.  He's a douchebag.  You're welcome for my expertise.

So he’s a jagoff. What was wrong with his answer? They all like to give their criticism to drivers from the booth, from the pits and in print. Why can’t he offer the same type of commentary to what he views as a dumb question just three races into a 24-race season?

Also, I said I had no problem with his answer. I would not have been offended by it but, then again, I would not have asked if he was leaving the team at this point in the season. I think it was a dumb question.

After last season’s race in Japan Hamilton got short with a reporter.

The reporter in question asked him if he was "looking forward to being with them [Ferrari]? Because they’re faster?”

Hamilton immediately asked him back:“Do you have any better questions?”

They all, not just Max, have their moments.

Besides, Max giving Max answers is awesome. Hit me over the head with the boring stick if he ever starts regurgitating variations of "just taking it one race at a time, not thinking about the future right now, I don't address rumors, I'm only thinking about this weekend, etc."
