Great fucking season. To follow a great season.

We need to learn from this and adjust and take it into next year.

We can obviously hang with these teams. Jennings gave this away but we wouldn't be here without him.

Are you watching the same game the rest of us are watching? SMU is in no way hanging with PSU. This is an embarrassment for SMU.

Well they moved the ball on a couple of drives before those INTs and held psu scoreless on their first few drives. So as long as you ignore the score, the yards, the sacks, and the turnovers, they are basically hanging with psu.

I don't see how that is obvious at all.

Penn State needs to yank some critical starters in the second half and see if things get closer.

( Narrator: it won’t )

They need to get their former 3rd qb some reps in the second half now that he’s the backup for the rest of the playoffs

TBF this is almost all on their QB being a basket case.

The ref, David Smith, played in victory on this very field as qb for Alabama in 1986 in a breakout game for both Bobby Humphrey and Derrick Thomas. Thomas sacked the Penn State qb so hard he walked into the Bama defensive huddle on the following play and Joe Pa had to call time out from the sidline. Humphrey had a couple of long Td runs and big yards for the day.  Smith, who had feet of clay, tried to run in the red zone and went down “like a British heavyweight,” Brent Musberger said on the call that night.  Bama won by 20 or so.  Big upset for Bill Curry as PSU were defending champs.  Florida and Emmitt Smith brought us back down to Earth the following week in Birmingham.

Nothin but love for the real DT.

This announcer with the superfluous adjectives he’s using to describe the players is like a bad Steven A Smith impersonator

Someone has never heard of Mark Jones. He’s been like this for over a decade.

What a dick punch to stroll into the stadium already getting boat-raced.

I don’t know, maybe take the young trophy wife back to the airport for short flight to the Big Apple and late Christmas shopping and sexy time at the Ritz?

That would help console me.

Just need 5 or 6 touchdowns in 31 minutes with a mentally broken QB.  It could happen.

Probably not, but I am considering throwing a small entertainment wager on SMU once they release the 2nd half odds. They have a habit of digging huge holes  and playing better in the 2nd half.

Man, I miss the good ole days when I told myself this as OU shit down their own leg in the playoffs.  At least it was usually to a top 2ish team.  Yay?

Their O line getting dad dicked is a big factor.

I don't think you can pin his picks on OL. Those were just bad decisions by the QB. The moment is too big for him.

SMU is definitely getting whipped in the trenches but it would be 14-10 with competent QB play for SMU. That failed 4th down was an easy touchdown if the throw wasn't 10 yards too far behind the TE (10 yards versus where a properly led throw would have landed). Sure he could have easily run for the first down but it was an easy TD.

That's 7. Take away the pick sixes and Penn State is down to 14. Then the stupid throw in the red zone when the slant was blanketed cost them a field goal.

I'll take a small nibble at that ML.
