Jeeze!!!  We are playing in our house against an opponent that has lost to the only 3 good teams they faced...and some folks are still worried

you do realize by definition... that also describes Texas right? except we lost to the "only" still-ranked team we faced, twice.

Now do Ole Miss instead of SMU and Bama instead of IU.

How much better would those games have been?

Ole Miss and Bama would still be playing

Nice job so far committee

SMU just kept fucking up. They were better than this score indicates.

Sometimes shit happens.

This happens everytime some non-helmet school gets blown out. Suddenly no upsets have ever happened in the history of CFB have ever happened ever and nobody who is not a helmet team should be forbidden from ever getting a chance. Very much just ignoring history.

SMU and Indiana are trash and shouldn't have been in the playoff. This will help for when they are selecting teams for next year.

Yes. Teams in the future should be punished because of SMU and Indiana in 2024. That makes a ton of sense.

Yea, so stupid. The whole point of expanding the playoff was to give fringe teams and G5 schools a chance to stop bitching. Let’s now knee jerk to only helmet schools getting in, cuz history (n of 2). Might as well just go back to 4 at that point.

We shouldn't let on obvious pretenders because they played a trash schedule. If you SOS its horrific and you don't pass the eye test, you're out.

For a team with 3 losses including Vanderbilt and a 6-6 OU where they got held to 3 points.

This is why we need to go to 16 teams, no byes and no conference championship games.

This would still allow “fringe” teams to get in but more importantly, it would allow more “deserving” teams to also get in.

This is the way.

I am sure the new complainers won’t be 17 and 18 at that point.

There were no “deserving” teams that got left out. Not one.

Ignoring history? Maybe  non-helmet  schools should quit proving they don't belong.

If anything, what we’re seeing is that 12 is too many.

You have not been paying very close attention have you ?

The committee would choose the best twelve teams (or 16 if expanded) regardless of conference bullshit.

It is not that twelve is too many it is the process of choosing the said twelve is.

The helmet schools that got left out proved they didn’t belong during the season.

They do...and then somebody gets blown out once and suddenly all those other things never happened.

Nah. You’re trying to argue that 3 loss mediocrities are “deserving.” That means there’s too many.

My stance is that I don’t give a fuck who gets left out at 13-16. They didn’t deserve to be there and they aren’t going to go on a run. If that’s SMU, or bama, or SC, or ole miss, or Miami. I don’t give a fuck because they showed multiple times how flawed they are.

12 is fine because you get the top 3-4 teams from the big ten and sec. And you get the winner of the next 3 best conferences. Beyond that I don’t give a fuck.

They just need to seed without having to be a conference champion so that asu and bsu aren’t pushed into the quarterfinals for winning a shit conference.

I think 12 teems is too many as well, but the reality is we are in a new era of college football.

All the things we used to love and what separated the college and pro game are mostly gone.

It's going to be expanded and it's going to be glorious.
