Football and basketball are very different sports... Wear and tear on the athletes means you can't go haywire scheduling all kinds of matchups

Yeah but 12-16 football teams is about the same as 64 basketball.

The field is 2x bigger than it needs to be.

But then you end up with everyone bitching that the conf champs and noise didnt get a shot at the big boys. The unfortunate reality of the playoff is that we are destined to have shitty matchups int he first round and some in the second round too because half the field is unworthy.

Last night I was incredulous about it now I think 12-16 is perfect and there will never be a real controversy ever again. Like I’ve said though, seed straight up.

I have no problem with this.

This is how college playoffs in every sport generally go. But it's worth it because a Coastal Carolina will rise up every once in a while and be the champion.

Not at all. It's being decided on the field now. Not in a room full of old men. We got blowouts when there were just 2 teams. Does that mean 2 teams was too many?

Blowouts happen in sports. That's how it goes. The talent discrepancy in the college and high school level is very large. These rounds are weeding out the pretenders. As will next week. But we are finally getting to see it played out on the field.

By score, but not in reality. Indiana had far less of a chance to win than Clemson. Although Clemson never had the ball within 1 score, so I am not sure you can say they were "close" either.

Sure. Indiana made it close in garbage time. Just funny it turned out that way.

My prediction before the playoffs started was Texas vs OSU in Dallas in the semifinal game (which will be the defacto national championship). And frankly, I think OSU will beat Oregon by 10. Glad we get OSU in Dallas. We better show up big.

I'm cashing out my Bitcoin Fortune for tickets if so.

All neutral bowl game locations would make a difference

Nah the field size is fine. In fact it's past due, we've needed this for ages and we settle it on the field. More football, even blowout football is great.

The biggest issue was the way they pushed ahead the Top 4 conference champs instead of seeding based on ranking. You take the same 12 teams and seed them like this:

Oregon - bye
Georgia - bye
Texas - bye
PSU - bye

Clemson at Notre Dame
ASU at tOSU
SMU at Tenn
Boise St at Indiana

You might have first round blowouts, but the field is a lot more even at the Quarters and Semis.

The biggest issues with the actual bracket is how out uneven it is even the next round. The best two teams (Oregon and Georgia) arguably have the hardest games.
