Fucking SEC dildos puffing their chests out and Tennessee gets mauled. "But it's unfair that Texas got such an easy schedule and got to host a home game". "We should've gotten Alabama and Ole Miss in". Yeah the team that is getting pants by Ohio State barely beat the team Ole Miss lost to in OT. Maybe the SEC!SEC!SEC! just kinda sucked this year.

Realignment wants to become more and more like the NFL. No?

am I wrong that wild cards aren’t higher seeds than division winners in NFL regardless of records?

I Guess If You Say So GIF

only counterpoint is each league in CFB is not created equal. NFL arguably they are.

Man, Oregon was screwed as a 1 seed.

They get one of the most talented teams in the country (Ohio State) while we get ASU and Penn State gets Boise State. They need to fix the seeding.

But is anything harder than playing @aggy at night?  They said it was going to be impossible.

Way more so than college football.

The irony is that when CFB was regional - it was more balanced but it had no playoffs

Playoffs have materialized during an era in which regionality has disappeared. And with these mega-conferences the schedules within same conferences vary wildly and are sometimes not even close in similarity.

Correct. A 7-10 division winner would host a 12-5 wild card team.

SEC honks are defiant to the end.

Yeah but he works for Fox now which is the Big 10 blowhard channel. He's right but this is no different than the 4 team playoff where one team blows out another. That happens. It happens in the NFL on Wildcard Weekend all the time. Recency bias is a huge problem in our what have you done lately society.

That’s totally true.

Here's hoping Ohio State and Oregon beat the shit out of each other.

We want Ohio State because Howard doesn't look like that vs more complicated defensive schemes and our pass rush is a little more potent when we are facing less of a running threat.

Tennessee call-in radio show, for anyone who wants an extra dose of schadenfreude

Those guys are faster than aggy, their excuse is that only the best team in the tournament could have done this to them especially since they had to be on the road.

I'm willing to admit it's reasonable to point out Texas had a light schedule.

What I've never understood is why Tennessee got a pass on having an essentially identical conference schedule - 7/8 common opponents against which they put together an inferior body of work to Texas, and a 7 point home win against a bipolar Bama team in their big rivalry vs Texas winning by 10 on the road at aggy in a game that had been circled for years. Both teams dog walked inferior power conference opponents out of conference and lost to Georgia by multiple scores in offensive meltdowns.

They straight up coasted reputationally on that Bama win when in reality they were the overrated team people have accused Texas of being.

it’s been said earlier but fix the seeding and we get more fun / entertaining 1st round.

ND- Clemson would have been fun. Clemson could win this IMO. Winner play Penn State. Cool.

tOSU - Arizona St wouldn’t but the vols weren’t much of a match up sooooo…..

Winner plays us? Well, likely our Cotton Bowl matchup anyhoo…. But I like our path better this year. Oh well

Tenn - SMU would have been more fun then watching these teams lay eggs like they did.

Winner plays Georgia. Bulldogs would take that over what they get this year

IU vs Boise State would be entertaining as idk who wins this.

Winner plays Oregon. Oregon like this a lot more than their draw this year fo sho.

That looks like the same results but in a different way. Playoffs are going to have mismatches. Oh fucking well.

The same thing tends to happen during the NFL Wildcard Weekend. The divisional round has the better matchups

How is this a selling point? Most of us don't want CFB to just be a bastardized version of the NFL, where crappy teams swan into the playoffs because they won their division.
