Pretty sure that is Leroy Sutherland.  Leroy was compliance and academic counselor in the athletic department and a great dude.  Old school Longhorn and smoked like a chimney

Shame we weren’t on a channel most people could see

we were one of the 2 games directly opposite the NFL and our game was the only one that was completely covered by NFL.  as much as we drive some numbers even being on ESPN wouldn't have helped much.  There is ton more gambling and interest in NFL than college.

Not bad for going up directly against NFL and being on a non-traditional football channel

These are really different numbers unless the first is rating instead of viewers.

Guys, Clemson abused man coverage the few times we went to it (pick route for Td anyone?). This team plays zone. It plays zone a lot. It usually plays zone really well. We had some busts in coverage that were unusual combined with off games from Taaffee and Malik. Plus, the refs were allowing a lot of physical contact between DBs and receivers so long as it wasn't jersey tugs. Malik didn't respond well to the physical play and push offs. And all of that was made worse by our pass rush disappearing in the second half. But what this wasn't about was our team playing "pussy zone D" (this wasn't soft underneath coverage leading to a bunch of easy throws and YAC) or just needing to play man.  We had one DB get physically beat (Malik). One DB that was just lost in coverage (Guilbeau). And one safety that wasn't his usual reliable self (Taaffee).  It happens. Guys just need to respond and play better next time. I have faith they will.

Agreed that they worked MM in man coverage, but at least he was close to the ball.  The zone was leaving people wide open, and they went down the field like a knife through hot butter on multiple occaisions.  I still feel we should have brought more pressure on the QB or spied him as was mentioned above.  If Guilbeau is that lost, maybe we need to put Barron back at nickel and Holmes at CB.  What we did was brutal, imo.

That's exactly what we did at the end.

My 8 and 6 year old daughters were having the time of their lives.

I parked in west campus and walked to the stadium.

1.) I pointed out all the buildings as we crossed campus that I went into and told them what was inside.

8 year old: Daddy this is like a tour! We didn’t know we were getting a tour too!

2.) Bevo Blvd and the midway food was great. Girls loved watching the band go into the stadium while eating a burger

3.) Girls were kind of confused on the first chant of Texas and fight while walking up to our seats in the ramps to the upper deck. So I instantly belt out  ‘tex.. usssss!’ And when every one yelled ‘fight’ their eyes lit up like I was a super hero. Of course when we got to the OU sucks part their eyes went wider as they are not allowed to say ‘sucks’ at the house.

4.) They loved the pregame flyover

5.) The actual game was the low point for them.

6.) Drone show killed

7.) I made them sing the eyes or at least hold up their horns during it.

8.) I’m pretty sure throughout the game a whole bucket of popcorn was consumed by each. Plus a box of m&ms in each of their popcorns…. Then the dip and dots…. And a pretzel.

So when at 1:30 am I woke up to crying and two kids that independently puked the bed, I knew that I flew ever too closely to the sun on a completely badass day. There are no free lunches. And chocolate puke mixed with popcorn kernels is not fun to rinse and pretreat before throwing into the washer. I can do without that again.

That's... beautiful.

I blame the Dippin Dots for the puke.

To be fair, I think later that drive Gibson converted a 3rd & 2 by about a yard and was marked a yard short of the first down, setting up 4th & 1 lol. So maybe it is closer for us

Wasn't the only short spot either.

Many of the smart tvs come with their free tv streaming app, it’s dog shit but it’s there. Plus over the air is still a thing, especially if you want to watch reruns of game shows and old western shows.

Of course dude.  I decided on his name as a handle because of the hit that knocked Bo Jackson out of the 1984 game in Austin and half the season, but more importantly, the best interception in college football history to that point, the int. against Auburn in Auburn in 1983.
I don't know if we talked about DBU before Gray, but we definitely talked about DBU at some point years later and it was in large part because of Jerry Gray.
The best factoid ever IMO is that ESPN deleted the 1984 Jerry Gray hit because of Bo's celebrity status?  or famous 4.2 40 combine?
Who knows but it's gone from the ESPN version.  Nobody can accurately describe the play, but I will give it a shot.  Gray is on the opposite side of the field as Bo is running and appears to be headed for a TD.  Gray runs faster than Bo ever has across the field probably at least 70 yards, takes a perfect angle,  and hits Bo so hard it either separated or broke his shoulder.

Great stuff!

I was there at the game - with all the War Eagle whoopin fans - that hit was heard above all that and then silence. I think I whooped and got some mean glares, but that hit, I will remember forever.
