Peach Bowl: Texas vs Arizona State, Jan. 1, 12:00PM, ESPN

See a lot of talking heads starting to coalesce around this being a close game, due to have a letdown, underestimate the opponent etc.  Nobody brave enough yet to pick an ASU win. We need to go out and put this team down quick if we can, and be prepared for every single barrel being unloaded on us (4th down gambles, fake punts/FGs, onside kicks, etc).

Been watching a lot of YT talking heads discussing the playoffs and several have gone from "ASU could give Texas a game" to some talking themselves into 'zona State actually winning. Lulz

Don't get me wrong, anything could happen...but it's funny how in an effort to hype up this game some of those clowns really started believing their own bullshit.

closest I've seen is Josh Pate picking ASU to cover.

the two biggest things I've been reading/hearing are that ASU finished the season red hot and Texas turns the ball over too much, so this will be a closer game than the spread.

Klatt is in the same place as Pate.

ASU finished the season hot, but have since been sitting on their asses for 3 weeks.

In the 3rd and Longhorn video I posted earlier they spoke about this. The former players said for a team like Arizona St that is built off of Skatteboo and what they want to do offensively it doesn't have that much of an impact. They mentioned if ASU was a rhythm passing type team it would make more of a difference.

They actually have a rhythm running attack. Most of their runs are delayed to let the OL get set before Skattabo hitting wherever he sees opportunity.

Russillo saying our defense against Clemson was “alarming” which is weird. Klatt, in the same interview with Russillo, said our defense is the most underrated in the country.

Cover 3 mostly thinks ASU will have trouble slowing down our offense but also think the ASU offense can score and that’s the only way they stay in the game. They think Texas can control the game but not cover.

Maybe they all grew 2 inches and gained 20lbs?

Hills talking about their defense at 17:30 made me laugh out loud.  Don't hold back Hills!

for the 20th century IT folk up in here, we all remember the saying "you never get fired for buying IBM"......

the current corollary seems to be "you can't go wrong talking down Big Evil Texas"

They were over 80% gap blocking by the last game.

Was watching a Sun Devil podcast and they think they have nothing to lose so let it rip. They think only chance they have is Sam Leavitt going wild. So I took a look. He can run and moves well in the pocket. Keeps eyes downfield and can throw ball well off his back foot while evading pressure. Taaffe said he compares him to Marcel Reed but Marcel Reed does not look like any kind of threat to complete a pass once he is on the move. This guy is always a threat down field even under pressure. Putting this here for those that feel like taking a look. Confident Texas will figure him out but he will be a decent challenge.

SIAP

Leavitt and Scat are the best or most dangerous QB/RB combo left.  Last person to run and catch at these numbers was 15 yrs ago.  He’s that rare. I believe we had better buckle up.

More confirmation on Bond’s availability:

Makes for a different Texas offense. Now their defense is in trouble

if by alarming he means giving up yards and scores to a playoff-caliber set of receivers making plays on indefensible dimes to the boundary by the best qb we've seen this year, ok, cool...

If Skattebo is even half as good as he thinks he is we’re fucked. I know our defensive players are scared to go up against him tomorrow, but I think they will rise to the challenge.

Welp.  Time for the defense to absolutely destroy them.

A lot of teams couldn't, but he must have forgotten about playing Wyoming (49 yds), TXST (62 yds), Tehc (60 yds), Cincinnati (75 yds) and K State (73 yds).

I’m pretty sure McCaffrey was less than 15 years ago…

I'm scared now...no, wait, that's the sobriety talking.  Let me take care of that real quick.

I just got into Atlanta. I have begun the pregame "medicating" already.

And being up 31-10 human nature kinda thing and go ahead and catch the ball and we’ll  tackle and burn clock defense also. And no more holding calls as we were being tackled at that point where they threw every play.

Only 38% of the teams we play can stop me!

Saquon had over 1200 yards rushing and over 600 yards receiving his senior year at Penn St. And had 2 kick return TDs

Out of pure curiosity, I would love to see a simulation of ASU’s offense versus this year’s defense with Sweat and Murphy back for an extra year.

And the same for both UGA games, while we’re at it.

That's interesting. Someone should tell him we had more AA selections on D than the entire B12. And the freshman POTY.

Lol good Lord. That would make the '01 Canes D look pedestrian.
