I just keep coming back to the fact that if a team is this one-dimensional on offense and doesn’t have a great defense or ST, a good defense will be able to take their strength away and score enough to keep this a comfortable win. This isn’t the 70’s or 80’s where you can just hand it off to Earl Campbell or Herschel Walker 35-40 times and ride him to victory.  If we focus on stopping Skattebo, I just don’t see how they score much. After watching us run on Clemson, and getting Bond back, I do feel confident that we are going to score 30+ on them and I can’t see them matching that.

The game lines up a lot like the Big 12 title last year where all OSU had going for them was Ollie Gordon and once we bottled him up, the rout was on.

You know the old saying: you can't spell schadenfreude without some of the letters in Skattebo

So yeah, this should be fun.

I'd also like to preemptively try out some in-game nicknames for Cam "no one can stop me except for many of the much worse defenses than Texas that I've faced" Skattebo:

Skatteboo-hoo

Skattebonehead

Skattered-bones

Shutupbitch

etc.

The Big 12 keeps delivering body-blow-after-body-blow to our beleaguered Longhorns:

I watched this withering attack from a very successful The Big 12 LIVE Show 6 which has already accumulated 29 views on YouTube. I'll summarize it for you why Arizona State will win:

Will Brett Yormark be there? It would be great to crush his dreams again.

I just looked up their schedule. Arizona State lost to a couple of real shit teams this year.

Their loss to Cincy was bad, but Leavitt was hurt and Jeff Sims is one of the worst backups in P5 football.

They outgained Tech but got down 14-0 early and went 0-3 on 4th down and couldn't claw all the way back.

If you take away the games they lost, they’re undefeated.

They aren't one-dimensional. They have a duel-threat QB in addition to Skattebo which is an x-factor. They are well coached. As long as the DL plays sound gap assignments, press the pocket and the edges contain, both rushing threats are solved with our LB's cleaning up. But their QB is definitely a threat. He is slippery, has speed and frequently makes yards with his feet or escapes the pocket to extend plays and finds open receivers when a play or protection breaks down.

I expect they will use Skattebo as a decoy as much as they go to him. Probably lots of QB designed runs, draw plays, screens and leak off wheel routes to the RB's. We need to play assignment sound, disciplined football instead of getting baited into mad rushes resulting in open gaps and vacated second levels, which is exactly what they want to turn the physical advantages of our DL against us. PK has shown he can scheme for these kind of threats before with Milroe being an example. Our LB's need to play smart and not get sucked in and vacate their areas of responsibility.

They're a good football team that isn't as deep or talented as we are, but their QB is really their most valuable player IMO.

Five Tropicalia IPAs, three shots, $20 tab. Atlanta, we're gonna get along again just fine  Shots were comped because a few bars still exist in this world where you can show up as a stranger, bullshit with the bartender and get free booze.

It ain’t the best place in the world, but it’s definitely not the worst. Bartenders here are pretty chill and pour heavy if you prove to be the same…
