If we can figure out a way to win the whole thing, it will be amazing to watch aggy try to rationalize it away.

But SEC!SEC!SEC! Right?  They’ll be conflicted.

copypasta from @Hermanator in the injuries thread re: the Bundlé Savé play

Quote

Sark feels compelled to put in that kind of stuff to keep defenses honest since we can't challenge them properly vertically with a QB that throws deep balls like he's shooting at rainbows. Every deep ball attempt was hung up and cause the receiver to have to wait for the ball and the DB to get back in position. Still completed 1 and got a couple of PIs, but it the separation was extensive on all of those routes.

the other team doesn't have to do shit to get our calls

sark's mouth is on blast

there is a documented conspiracy between the high-endzone camera operators and the director in the truck to show sark's mouth up close in focus on 90% of his playcalls

now, does this conspiracy extend to the opposition so they can radio over/down to whoever has the mic to the defensive radio helmet?  don't know, can't prove it

but the mouth of sark on blast is a feature not a bug of every game for the past 2 years regardless of league, stadium or network

I'm not happy about the closeups on Sark when he calls plays, neither, but I didn't think it was EVERY offensive play, so not enough for me to have mentioned.

Yes, mickeymouse needs to STOP putting a camera on Sark when we're on offense!

Ah yes, ASU coeds.  Also known as "Southern California's leftovers."  Too hot and slutty to study, therefore they couldn't get into UCLA or USC.  God bless 'em.

Yeah, I got to see a lot of those in the stands at football games when my son was in high school.

"Bitches so basic the pH..." bit was HIS line about em.

The man has standards.

IIRC, ASU has a mission statement to be a university that provides an education that's "as cheap as possible".

socal is a private university for smart rich kids.

"UCRA" is a public university that contains the rich kids that were too dumb to get into socal.  Lulz.

8AM kick after a NYE in Waikiki. RIP me.

Just sleep all day, wake up a couple hours before midnight, and keep it going all night through the game.

In 2023, I was watching Texas play live in a baseball regional game, drinking beer at 7am JST, eating a wagyu ekiben while fighting off jetlag, on the Tokaido shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka, Japan.

Make sure you post pics of your humblebrag-- I did.  Lulz.

We were in Dubai for 2005. Got off work, took nap, started drinking about 30 minutes before the game started. Told the boss when Texas won we were taking the day off.

Boss was a Nebraska grad (and a complete asshole). So we showed up after the game to work, still drunk as shit and told him what we thought of Nebraska. Reminded him about 15 times of the Roll Out.

Went and spent the day sleeping on a beach next to Burj al Arab giving zero fucks.

ASU makes aggy look like a selective school that is choosy about handing out diplomas.

I feel like Sark needs a veteran coach on the sideline to help with game management. Sark is one of my favorite play callers and designers of all time, but I feel like he needs someone there to say, “hey coach, kick a field goal here. It preserves momentum, gives your kicker some confidence, and means they have to do xyz”.

Maybe a Fatterson type.

I'm sure Sark knows this but with 4K you could probably get a shot of the back of his play card.  maybe it doesn't really matter anymore unless it shows play calls for a particular down and distance.

Yup.  I've got a friend who refers to this is a "No, Dumbass" coach. Sark needs someone telling him, "No, dumbass, make a better decision."

Wait....you actually believe that networks show up-close shots of Sark making play calls 90% of the time? 9 out of 10 plays....that's what you think? Where exactly is that documented?

Also I checked flights from Phx to ATL for this game. Prices through the roof. Guessing tickets were bought up by ASU fans. Probably lots of pent up demand since they’ve really never been anywhere ever.

Could be a lopsided crowd.

Tix are expensive from Austin too, and we’ll have about 50 people at the game…

The narrative I've seen is that ASU is the lunchpail team and we will be smelling our own farts after beating Clemson.   Someone needs to remind our front 7 they are just a bunch of pussies and haven't faced a specimen carved from granite like Skaterboi yet.

You think Sark doesnt know how to do that? Lol. He isnt some 3rd grader calling plays like you do in Madden. This is a dude who has forgotten more than any of us will ever know about football.

The first thing I am telling the defense….?

Do not try and tackle Skattebo above the waist.

First or second guy there needs to wrap both arms around his ankles.

I saw this forty years ago when we played  Pitt in the Bluebonnet Bowl and we could not tackle Craig Iron Head Heyward in the first half.

We started going for the ankles in the second half and stopped that shit

Skattebo is the same type of runner.

I was skiing with my buddies on Mammoth Mountain.  We got shit-hammered watching the game, stumbled to a bar "to pick up chicks", got more shit-hammered and I'm not sure what happened after that, but I'm pretty sure no chicks were involved.

I was there…and the RUUUUUDY, RUUUUDY chants by the crowd were glorious.

Yes they were. I also remember, "USA! USA! USA!" 🤣

And being mystified by the delay during the whole Chris Jessie thing.

It was such a frustrating season, so to absolutely pound someone in a bowl game was very cathartic. I remember asking my Dad, who was out past his bedtime, in the 3rd quarter, "Well, game seems well in hand. Want to get going now and get ahead of the traffic?"

And he replied, with a strange, wild look in his eyes, "No, let's stay until the end!" That made me happy. Because I love it when Texas wins in a one-sided beatdown, too!

I'm thinking this game will be somewhat similar to the 2023 Big 12 championship game vs Oklahoma St, both in terms of quality of opponent and how it plays out.

It's hilarious, two playoffs in a row, Final 4 + Final 8 (+?), an incredibly consistent staff & cultural demands, strong play in (almost) all phases, recruiting off the charts . . . and Sark needs help.

Maybe people just to get fucking satisifed with what's happening and enjoy the ride before deciding they know more than the guys who are FAR FAR FAR more qualified to judge (including CDC).

I mean... I kinda wanna agree with you here, but then I smell that "trust the coaches" bull that makes aggy misery and delusion so much fun to read, plus was the kinda thing idiots (like me) crowed during the down times of Mack, Mackovic, Strong, etc and I realize that no, no, no.

We absolutely can and will criticize every last goddamn jot and tittle, every flaw perceived or real. It's our right, our privilege, our responsibility.
