the ACC should be our refs and the SEC should be the refs for Ohio State v Oregon.

we better be ready because Big Ten gonna want ASU playing tOSU/Ore winner.

I don’t know why any of our fans would expect anything other than getting fucked by the refs at this point, even considering the Clemson game.

That's your Arizona St RT standing near the endzone(he was previously in the end zone), 3 yards downfield on a pass play. No flag to negate the defensive holding call on Texas.

Definitely felt like when the momentum was shifting that aside from some stupid penalties by Texas, the refs were going out of their way to ignore some for ASU.

I was surprised that they opted to not call targeting for that wrap-up on ASU's last drive in regulation.

Why wasn’t the hit on Bond targeting?  Why wasn’t the hit by taaffe?

Is it a foul to grab and pull the ball carrier forward like the ol did to toss skateboo into the end zone?  If so, why no call on that?

why dpi not opi on the skateboo long pass when he slowed down to initiate contact and then pushed off?

was asu doing things to draw all the false starts?  Our OL looked to be frustrated at what was happening, but could he reading the frustration poorly.

One of the worst officiated games I've seen at the college level.

Whats funny is ALL of the talk is how we benefited from that one Taffe hit.

When we get fucked all game by crooked refs then all of the ESPN fairies come out and say we benefited from officiating.

Dumb

The amount of dipshits claiming that Texas got a win gifted due to the officials not only shows how dumb the general public is but how nationally permeating the Texas hate is.

We are cfb's #1 fucking villain and I love it.

I think it's doubling up now. Texas + SEC.

In-game hot takes  have been off the charts this bowl season trying to create a narrative of the SEC not earning their place.

It honestly reminds me of the concerted effort to push The Alliance™ as B1G saving college football from the evil SEC.

With all due respect, fuck the SEC. All we’ve gotten is shit on by other SEC fans.

I actually think the Florida folks have been okay. Given that the universities are basically peers on the academic side and having very little history between the programs probably helps. Quite frankly, Florida should fucking love us. We help the academic rep of the conference and we handed them a rematch with FSU for the title in 1996. You’re welcome, gators.

But yeah, I agree about the rest.

I agree with you. But I have always been a Texas fan, not a ________________ fan. I root for some SEC teams and not others, just as I did with the Big 12. We have been met with very little respect coming into the conference, and frankly I am fine with that. Sure would like some equitable officiating, though.

If we win a national championship, they will jump on board.

Yeah, Florida is definitely my favorite of our new SEC brethren. All the others seem lacking in likeability, if not utterly objectionable.

Had a good time with the UK fans at that game. They were drunk rednecks but plenty affable and self-aware.

Honestly I fucking despise UGA fans and the rest are whatever. aggy obviously sucks, too. I haven't had enough interactions with arky to color my opinion one way or another.

You see, the college football "analysts" don't actually watch games or know what they are talking about beyond the food quality in the booth.   But they make their money driving clicks and creating controversy as much as possible wherever they can.  So they will ignore the actual targeting, the bullshit spot/first down, the egregious holding, the illegal man downfield, sideline interference, OPI/DPI, pulling a player forwards, because it doesn't drive the point home to call B10 officials out for their fuckery, but they will instead latch on to some meaningless iffy play that was actually correctly called and try to argue about that incessantly for the next week because bullshit sells (e.g. essential oils).   Calling out officiating for being corrupt or incompetent doesn't really generate the clicks like the insinuation that an undeserving team advanced.

Note, these assholes were ready to shit all over Indiana for winning games and earning a spot, in favor of teams who lost multiple games and didn't, until those teams demonstrated why they were unworthy.  Any of those assholes want to say that Bama/SCAR should be in the CFP today?

I think if ND wins today we are all but assured ACC refs. If not, itll be 50/50 ACC or Big 12.

Well, you're finally seeing that SEC like to shit on each other. That doesn't take away from how the B1G fans try to create their own narrative.

Who are you fucking kidding we're going to get shafted either way.

Until there's a 50/50 call late that goes our way and then America acts like someone just pissed on the original declaration of independence.

This is apparently too nuanced of a conversation for most college football fans to have, but if you take a step back and think about WHAT the targeting rule is trying to prevent, it's shit like what happened to Bond - a defender launching himself at the head of an airborne defenseless receiver.  In order to enforce those hits, language has been included in the rule that unfortunately lumps in many "football plays" like the Taaffe tackle - a defender inadvertently colliding helmets with a running defenseless receiver while trying to make a tackle.

I do agree that the Taaffe hit is usually called targeting, but I'm fine with neither being called.  I'd understand if both were called.  But to call the Taaffe hit WITHOUT calling the Bond one would literally be the exact opposite of the spirit of the rule.

You are correct that the outrage is mostly fueled due to which team benefitted, not the call itself.  If the jerseys were reversed and a Texas defender did what ASU did to Bond with no call, the texags servers would have burned College Station to the ground last night.

Here is the "great" fake punt. Remember, the line of scrimmage is between the 20 and 21 yard line. Notice the blocking at the 24 and 25 yard line at the time of the throw.

The "holding" call against Texas on our punt return at 6:07 in the first quarter.

Announcer notes the play was like a UFC BJJ takedown.

You can see announcer called it correct as the ASU player goes for the headlock, hip throw and side control.

Yeah I saw this during the play and kept expecting a flag. Horribly officiated
