Three Russian-born girls in that bottom bracket.

Mirra played an hour long match in the morning while Stearns played about 2 1/2 hours. Then they played each other after Iga’s 2 set match.

The on-court interviewer asked Peyton about having to play again after such a grueling match and Peyton said: “I’m made for this.”

No one is made for that. At least not anyone currently on your.

Mirra basically had a practice session and Stearns played a full match in the sun and 51% humidity.

She did well, but that outcome be Andreeva had to have been the surest bet in the entire tournament.

Other ladies are employing the Ostapenko method of going for it.

Yesterday Yastremska did it in the first set (but lost it in a tiebreaker) and then today young Mirra busted out a can of whoopass!

DOWN goes Iga

Again.

😁

75 points vs 52 points is an absolute route in tennis

Not your typical 1000 final four, but ain't mad at it.

Russians face off in one match and Germany’s neighbors face off in the other.

Tauson has the most unfortunate jawline on the WTA.

Rublev v. Draper Doha 500 final is same time as Mirra/Clara (9 am). Wonder which one TC goes with?

They’ll show the men live. They show men over women about 80% of the time and Mirra is somewhat known while Tauson is barely known.

Rublev could erupt at any minute and Draper is a strapping Brit. They’ll show the boys, but I would watch the girls if given th choice. When Tauson is on, her forehand is the most awesome shot out of the best shots from the 4 finalists.

Madison Keys had her Austin Open invite revoked. WTA 250 events can only invite 2 top 10 players, and since Pegula and Keys are top 10, the lower ranked player was told to kick rocks.

This sounds counterproductive to growing the fucking sport.

I stayed up late and watched Cilic overcome his weak mental game to pull out a 3 set win against Di Minaur that should have been a straight set victory.

The Demon Mouse was the two-time defending champion at the 500 in Acapulco, but decided to go to the Dubai 500 instead so that he could lose on Tuesday.
Nice!

Cilic has an excellent inside out forehand and a 25 Cent mental game.

Fritz & Rybakina win some mixed doubles exhibition thing last night (The Eisenhower Cup) that they just finished showing on the Tennis Channel.

Fritz is 6’5” and Rybakina has to be at 6’2”. Holy crap she is tall.

They beat Tommy Paul & Madison Keys in the final.

This is basically what the U.S. Open Mixed Doubles is going to be. A big name event before the actual tournament starts.

Indian Wells (coverage) starts NOW!

Lulu was down 2-5 in the 3rd set before an impressive run against an attractive Slovakian.

She had a couple (or few) match points at 6-5, but ultimately needed the tiebreaker to win the match.

She won one fewer games and one fewer points, but won the match.

Peyton Stearns tanks the 3rd set and starting the set up 2-0 and then loses 6 or the last 7 games of the set & match to 🇵🇱 Magda Linette

No avenging last year’s loss to Sabalenka

Someone was apologizing for something, but didn’t catch it.

Riley Opelka apologized to Roman Safiullin for the delay while waiting for the lights to come on even though the chair umpire “Nacho” (nickname for “Ignacio”) want them to play while the lights slowly come on by saying…

“Sorry Roman, Nacho is an idiot.”

Raducanu 🇬🇧 is playing Uchijima 🇯🇵 in. The most ridiculous wind that I’ve seen in a professional match.

Raducano is going to lose because the Japanese girl is playing the wind better.

Emma just over hit a forehand due to the wind carrying it wide when she probably could have hit an average drop shot and either won the point or make the other girl sprint about 40 to 59 feet.
