So I've always wondered -- do you think she really needed those braces, or they were cosmetically installed for dramatic character effect?

The fact that you and I ponder the exact same deep questions bothers me very, very, very, very much.

I bet there will be enough ice overnight to delay AISD.  May get below 20 tonight.

One of the holes at the Circle C disc golf course...

Which reminds me, one of EvilMopac's pictures once again confirmed my suspicions he lives in Circle C

Apparently, the idiots in Louisiana did not get the message about staying off the roads because I just got this text sent to me

Well....duh.  How ELSE are they going to keep getting their giant frozen daquiris to-go?

YOU CAN'T DRIVE DRUNK IF YOU DON'T DRIVE, GATOR.  YOU KNOW THIS.

I-10 and 610 interstates are closed as are all of the elevated bridges over water.    As the rain turned to sleet before the snow came, we have a pretty good layer of ice beneath the snow that is deceiving if you decide to take a spin to look at the pretty weather.    Since we do not have a fleet of salt trucks, it will be an interesting question how long before anyone can drive, because tomorrow is supposed to be colder than today.

“What can a man do against such reckless snow?”

All this man can do is be glad he made sure he has everything he needs to make a pot of red.

Tonight is supposed to be colder, but it should be sunny and above freezing before noon in most of Houston and south of it. Highs in the 40s and sunny. Most roads should be good by around noon

How often would you say it's gotten down to -35F up where you live?

It hit -30* a couple weeks ago, but it's rare to get this cold.  I'll bet it was -40* or colder as this was taken at 8 am.  The coldest part of the day is right around 5 or 6 am.

It's all the way up to 0* now that the sun is out.

i dont know, but i just killed a cockroach waltzing across my hardwoods last night. WTF!?

In January with below freezing temps?

Stop heating your house and leaving cabinets open in bathrooms to warm up the pipes. See, if you do then your pipes don't burst and drown them.

I’ve been in a four week war with two squirrels. They keep eating the branches off one of my trees. So I’ve tried various techniques to try and scare them off, with no luck. I’ve resorted to just throwing tennis balls at them. Two days ago I walked up to within 6 feet of one camped out on a limb eating, and I whizzed the ball within an inch of his head. He just looked at me and went back to eating. I despise these animals.

Slingshot and acorns.  Have some fun.

This is the least surprising development from this weather event. LA drivers can’t drive when it’s sunny and dry.

Yeezus.  Coldest I ever saw in Missouri was -22 F and I wanted to off myself.

Let's be clear - I did not go outside to take that picture.  Took it through the kitchen window. Heat in the house couldn't keep up last night, though.  We keep it at 68 inside and it was 63 when I got up.  Had to light a fire to warm it up.

Some dumbass in Port Arthur bundled up his 6 month old and used him to “shovel” snow off his car - with the license plate visible, in a TikTok video.

Honestly, if it was a 2-year-old or older toddler it would have almost been cute. Questionable, but no big deal.

But guess whose wife happens to be the on-call manager, and guess who is going to have a CPS investigator at his house as soon as the streets clear?
