KXAN's forecast for yesterday read like a TexAgs preseason prediction thread.

Everyone missed it. For Austin at least. Even NWS. Cold Front's tend to over perform in CenTex.

I had plans to walk 9 holes after work yesterday.  I was expecting upper 70s, so I threw a pair of shorts and a golf shirt into the truck in the morning.  Needless to say, this weather miss derailed those plans.  Haven't seen a whiff this big on a forecast in ages.

This is the most first world problem that I've read in a long time.

Tell me about it!  To make matters worse, canceling golf made me want a massage instead.  I had to call my private masseuse on short notice to fit me in which caused me to have to push back my dinner reservations at Uchiba.  That, in turn, made me stay out later than I planned.  So I overslept this morning and had to push back the departure on my private jet to Aspen this morning.  The entire day was REALLY rough and spilled over to today.  Utter chaos.

More cold on the way next week.

Yep.  Some models showing highs in the low 20's for Wed/Thurs next week in CenTex.  Areas along the red river near 0 for morning lows.  Precipitation starting to show up as well.   Could be going out with a bang.

I still mourn the Lacebark Elm I lost after the storm in ‘21. It now lives on as Stumpbush, proud but diminished.

My parents had one of the biggest in Austin and it didn’t make it through the freeze either. Broke my Dads heart to take it down.

Only saving grace was I was able to take it down myself, and didn’t have to give in to the circling band of jackals trying to quote me $2k to take down a tree. Didn’t even destroy my house in the process (don’t mind that dented gutter, it was totally already there).

Yesterday morning it snowed for 3 hours before relenting to the temp rising to a sunny, balmy 43 mid afternoon.  Then it snowed again around 10 PM.

Very weird day for us, weatherwise.

Fucking hell.  Soccer tournament in Frisco.  First game Saturday started around 3pm and it was pretty warm to start the game, at halftime when the front blew threw it was chaos.  Tents and chairs flying away with all the wind.   Impossible to play the ball in the air.  Girls were freezing.  It was wild.

Probably the most exciting girls soccer tournament since the '99 World Cup.

Cold again.  I'm ready for winter to be over.

Sounds like someone hasn't discovered the wonderful world of fleece lined technical pants.

I get the Eddie Bauer First Assents for less than $50 on Amazon Prime. Got four pairs.

If you're a Costco member, they have a knockoff brand (Weatherproof?) that's damn near identical (I have both the EB and Costco version) for about twenty bucks. Too good of a deal not to have a couple pairs stashed away for emergency use.

Lightweight. Comfortable. Breathable. Water repellent. More comfortable & useful than denim. Pretty much a no-brainer when the weather turns cold or soft.

So you wear them when your dick is not working. Got it. Hence the need for 4 pairs?

I kid man. I just don't know why own 4 pair of anything the same. Even in the field I change my "uniform". Well guess I wore mustard yesterday. Going to mix it up and go with tan since my khaki is in the wash and it is not shades of grey week.

Anyways, sorry for the fashion derail.

Do we drip or wrap? I was taught you wrap so you don't drip.

People who are not trekkers really wear that gear for everyday? So much that you need 3-4 pair?

I hunt and fish in them as well. So yeah, four pair of it is a long fishing trip. And your other pairs get fishy. They can be worn for something other than trekking.

I wear sweats underneath jeans when it's ball shrinking cold out. That, ski jacket, gloves, and a toque is plenty for necessary trips outside.

Are you Canadian, hoser?
